The cover of November's RADAR magazine features a phony picture of Hillary Clinton naked with Rudy Giulian cuddling up to her and a bogus bare-butt Barack Obama.Politicians and presidential candidates are open game when it comes to mockery. The term "politically incorrect" does not apply.
But what's this Photoshop cut and paste job trying to accomplish?
First, it's a parody of the once talked about Vanity Fair cover that showed Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson undressed with fashion designer Tom Ford (in Giulian's spot).
This cover will fool some, offend others and get lots of laughs in fraternity houses for sure.
But what's really funny is what the scandalous cover says about the magazine. Maybe RADAR is bitter because the candidates would not take a real picture for them or do a real interview.
Well, the truth is, RADAR can hardly be considered a real magazine. Please! A poll on "Who Would Jesus Vote For?"
These sort of silly MAD Magazine slash Weekly World News-esque covers are nothing new for RADAR. It's sorta their shtick when they are not trying to present serious and edgy journalism. And in the magazine business, each issue lives and dies by who's on the cover. RADAR must be on life support, somewhere next to Dennis Kucinich's chances at a presidential bid.
RADAR folded after publishing just three issues in 2005 and then made its most recent comeback with independent backers and hit the newsstands again early this year. Its cult following is sure to love this cover.
Recently, AOL Black Voices did a poll of the best Barack Obama magazine cover shots, real magazine cover shots, and wondered if the publicity could hurt his campaign.

Whoever came up with that cover is ignorant. I hope they vote better than they cut and paste. Oh yeah, that's right. They're probably not even registered. My bad.

Hello to All,
In this coming election we as a people have a significant part in shaping of the USA and in part this world, in the coming election. Throw away the idea that Mr. Obama doesn't have the experience, remember the present Governor or Calif had no experience either, nor the former Governor or Minnesota. So far those experienced politicians who have served in office created the greatest problems while solving but a few. Yet when all is said and done WE are still looking for OUR opportunity.
We should consider that Bill Clinton is not running for President!, and that it is sheer folly to even think that Hillary helped to shape policy while Bill was in Office. Point One: Which policies did she shape, the ones that worked or those that failed? Point Two" Hillary made quite a mess of child health care when she got her opporunity as First Lady, her prgram loss millions of dollars. Point Three: Having served eight years as First Lady provides Hillary with a chance to meet many people with who she can interact, however dinner conversation is a far cry from tough negotiations.
People have said that Obama is too white. Brillant, so now WE can feel comfortable voting for a real white person. Obama is an educated Afro-American. He is very much in tune with the struggles of our forefathers, are you? Every year in Feb we celebrate Afro-American pioneers. One of the many things they have in common is that they were educated Afro-Americans. The power of the mind, should not be shunned aside but embraced. Just ask yourself when is the last time Hillary has been black?????
Vote Obama, Vote together.

"Everyone WAKE UP!! THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST RACISM IS EXCELLENCE" Barack Obama is excellent for the 2008 President of the United States. Please, Please Read his book "The Audacity of Hope". Then I challenge you to read the truth about Hillary. We seem to be afraid to vote for change, But mark my word-We will get what we don't need. The Clintons!! How could Mr. Obama do any worse than Mr. Bush. I believe Mr. Obama will give his all to make us proud, help him get there! Stop playing with our future, Mrs. Clinton is not OUR future!

Are we that ignorant still of what a Black in power will do! OOOH! He is the BOOGEYMAN!!. WAKE UP!! The Clintons disrespected the White House, because that was OUR HOUSE! Please read Mr.Obamas bok- "The Audacity of Hope" and after you have read the whole thing and understand what he stands for then post your comment. This is a CHALLENGE to all those who think they understand Mr. Obama- you will come away impressed if not I will buy the book from you! After reading it you will change your mind. He will then win the election in 2008! It takes one vote at a time and from this day forward I vow to see Mr. Obama win!

To comment #83 Arnold Somereville- WOW! Your comment is so powerful and true!! I sometimes feel as though I am in this fight for Mr. Obama alone!! I live in Dallas Texas and I am so ashamed at the sheer ignorance when people here talk about Hillary (they actually really mean Bill). They are so slow to what The Clintons did while in the White House and they are so ready for more of the same?. WHY? I won't give up this fight because it is the right fight!

I own a few magazines so I do know how hard it is to keep people interested. If you ever read any of my writing you will see that I DO NOT bite my tongue or hold any punches for anyone or any topic. With that being said, I own this particular issue of Radar through subscription. When I saw it I wasn't offended, nor was I shocked (it's radar for crying out loud). However I was surprised to see a cover like that pass by the editor. Even still, maybe that's a product of the times that we live in. We have definitely seen some racy covers on publications such as Creative Loafing (google it) and it just doesn't shock you anymore. It doesn't shock you to see gay people kiss in public anymore. It doesn't shock us to hear about kids overdosing on drugs anymore. Molestations and rapes by family members, car jackings, mass killings, church burning, etc. So since it takes so much to SHOCK america (purposefully left uncapitalized) people rush to create a new shock factor. What's even worse is whether or not an individual should or should not be able to sue over something such as this. We need to get our laws straight. We can slander presidents and other political figures but we can not burn red white and blue pieces of cloth that are sewn together and has stars attached to it. We can beat the hell out of our wives and children, but get jail time if we mistreat animals. Our so called freedom of speech chronically runs rampant and THAT, the media, is what's destroying our kids and your nation. You give them an inch and they take a lightyear (I know a lightyear is a unit of time and not measurement but work with me here).
Radar's cover before this one? Prince Harry sitting on a throne in his boxers with a beer in his hand
