African Americans have been told not to spend anything on Friday and some have gone so far as saying don't show up for work either.But it's only one day and can it make a difference? Some people are even asking if it's OK to support Denzel Washington, since his new movie "American Gangster" opens Friday.
It's estimated that African Americans spend $2 billion a day. But according to some financial experts the so-called economic "blackout" won't necessarily crash the stock market and will have minimal economic impact.Others say different. As a year of injustice in the legal system has been brought front and center with the Jena Six, nooses being hung without hate-crime prosecution, Genarlow Wilson and other cases, the boycott's impact could be more symbolic than anything.
The proposed "Blackout" and day of solidarity also comes weeks before a national rally in Washington on Nov. 16. The rally is pushing for legislation for fair legal treatment for African-Americans and hate crimes.
"Economic protest is a good tool; it's putting your money where your mouth is. It is an individual thing. You're not holding a flag, but doing something in a nonviolent way and being mindful of how you spend your money," political analyst John Wade told a Gannett newspaper recently.

In 1969 when black folks were being killed all over this country, some thought it was necessary to respond. For more than forty years " Black Solidarity Day" was observed annually in many cities across the nations on the Monday before Election Day to remind the nation of African Americans importance.
There was a play by Douglas Turner Ward called "The Day of Absence". In that play, blacks disappeared. It illustrated what happened when black people are not involved.

interpersonal relationship dynamics we witness in A-
merikkka.It was said for yrs that the only free indi- viduals in Amerikkka were the "white man & black wo- man".Whether it was true or not isn't the point,but
why it was said?One answer has to do w/the practice of
Caucasian males freely taking ANY African-American wo
man at will,making children,& daring African-American
men to say or do anything about it!There's no experi-
ence more devastating to Manhood than the inability to
fend for or protect one's Woman!Chattel Slavery was a
monstrous institution designed to psychologically de-
stroy,physically castrate,& emotionally devastate the
African-American male!It was deliberate,intentional,&
systematic in its application!It was founded upon the
lies of racist & the secret they do NOT want us to e-
ver discover!Sadly,most of us have no idea as to the extent Caucasian males & females have gone & continue
to go to prevent us from discovering their best kept
secret!What is it?Well,it's the fact that they really
hate each other because neither can ever get what it is they really want from each other!Racism is the ma-
nifestation of a sickness of mind & heart that flows
from the kind of "self-hatred" often attributed to us!
There's a deep-seated reason Caucasians prefer to be
called "white" as opposed to what they really are!It's
a result of their lack of MELANIN in their DNA!There's
a desire within Caucasian males & females to be able to conceive & give birth to a "child of color" that is
NOT possible w/each other!As a direct result of this
innate inability,Caucasian males have saw fit to rape
women of color around the world in an effort to pro-
duce the kind of child that only they could give them,
while doing ANY & EVERYTHING within their power to de-
ny the same to the Caucasian female!Thus,men of color
wherever they went were accused of desiring their wo-
man & they pulled no punches on not only convincing
themselves of this lie but forced Caucasian women to a
dopt the same as well!Due to racist practices where the "lighter-skinned" children of Caucasian males re-
ceived the appearances of socio-economic-political ad-
vantages,not a few African-American women bought into
the idea that it was better to have lighter-skinned
children from the loins of the all-powerful Caucasian male than to have one from the loins of their darker-
skinned mates!Of course,this has resulted in the skew-
ed interpersonal relationship dynamics of Amerikkkan
society!Caucasian females made their move during the
feminist-inspired "free love" movement of the 60's!It
was during this period that African-American males &
Caucasian females began to break free of the psycholo-
gical shackles that prevented their getting together!
Caucasian females have had to deny & pen up their de-
sires for a child of color!Even so,they NEVER failed
to identify their ideal mate as "tall,dark,& handsome"
African-American males for their part are like the A-
frican-American woman!Neither is aware of the under-
lining motivations for how caucasians come on to them
nor why!While the African-American male was taboo for
the Caucasian female due to the ugly legacy of Chattel
Slavery,she could escape total social alienation by satisfying her secret desire w/ANY other man of color!
There has been & continues to be a deliberate,inten-
tional,& systematic effort to make the African-Ameri-
can male as unattractive as possible to Caucasian fe-
males!The integration of public schools has only ag-
gravated the situation & created more desperate acts
from both Caucasian males & females in their efforts to convince each other that the lie is the truth & the
truth is the lie!It's no accident that the socio-eno-
mic-political realities for the African-American male
have been designed to make us appear powerless,penni-
less,& spineless!Go around the world & u discover the
farreaching effects of racism & it's progeny! In Bra-
zil they have a saying,"Money lightens the skin"!This
reflects the effects of racism in their society,where
those of "lighter" so-called skin color get the oppor tunities to experience a standard of living & quality
of life Caucasian males use to keep their females in
line!In Amerikkka,it has always been & continues to be
about the "power to control the womb" of both Caucasi-
an & African-American women!Unfortunately,African-Ame-
rican men & women in this country have no idea as to
how this power struggle is the foundation for every-
thing Amerikkkan!Believe me however,Caucasian males &
females are all too well aware of this!And,one of its
cornerstones is the denial of certain opportunities to the average African-American males!The two most de-
sired entities on the planet are the African-American
man & woman!And,those who desire us the most are Ame-
rikkkan caucasians--both men & women!It's this insati-
able desire in each that prevents the healing needed in this society!Our DNA is respected,despised,&, above
all,DIVINE!Yes,we & our children are tried,convicted, & crucified daily for what we have been given by God ,
but so what!?!As long as we interact w/Caucasians un-
comfortable w/their OWN "pale skin",we'll have to con-
tend w/such persecutions,prosecutions,& executions of
our Presence,our Being,& our Bodies!Until we know & understand the root causes of racist ideology,we'll never be able to overcome the socio-economic-politic-
al dynamics born of such a serpentine intellect!
