Kiva.org is a new Web site that puts individuals in touch with small entrepreneurs who can't qualify for bank financing for their business. It's called online micro lending.
Kiva lets you find and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. Those who sponsor a business help workers, farmers and entrepreneurs find economic independence. People can go online to loan money, sometimes loaning as little as $25, and the loans are repaid. You also follow the progress of the business online.
Check out the video and see how one farmer in Kenya used just a few hundred dollars with a Kiva loan to expand his business.

This does appear to be a very good idea. I guess I will preference that with a "but". There is so much fraud online that I would be afraid to give a cent. I'm thinking of the money that was given to a group named the Holy Land that went directly into the pockets of Hamas or one of those radical muslim groups to help finance their terrorist organization.

If such a small amount of money can help some people in a huge way, then why not sacrifice the money? As humans we are meant to help each other. This seems to be a better plan than sending money to an area where you have no clue if your intended contribution is getting to the where it is supposed to go. To be able to track the business is a plus. Getting repaid is another plus and a great incentive. (Hmmm, sounds too good to be true - personally, I'll have to see how it all develops).

Everyone remember this is the time of year that we are supposed to share, and express our love for each other, and focus, and be thankful for God first, Life, and family second, and lastly our possessions no matter what they consist of big or small be thankful. Have a great dinner, guys help clean up after dinner, and for everyone who loves Thanksgiving football enjoy the game http://www.worldclassskate.com

A people without knowledge of its history is like a tree with roots. If I can plant a seed to help someone in my motherland,I may consider this investment as a reconnection to my people by extending my hand to help someone get ahead.
