It has been confirmed that Dr. Donda West, mother of rap superstar Kanye West, died from "complications due to plastic surgery."

As days have passed and as more and more information has emerged, Dr. West's tragic death is almost a text book case of what NOT to do when having elective surgery.
Dr. West, 58, a former college educator, was co-founder and chair of the Kanye West Foundation at the time of her death.
She had known medical issues, possibly a thyroid and/or heart condition, and was reportedly turned away by another plastic surgeon because he wanted her to get clearance from her internist, which she did not. (TMZ.com)
West instead went to Dr. Jan Adams, who briefly hosted TV show, 'The Other Half' and a Discovery Channel health program, for a tummy tuck and breast reduction. Adams paid two patients almost $500,000 to settle two malpractice suits in 2001.
According to TMZ.com, Donda West's operation lasted eight hours -- twice as long as it should have. In addition, instead of sending Ms. West to a recovery center, she was sent home, where she died a day after her surgery, and before paramedics arrived.
As it turns out, not only is Dr. Adams not Board Certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, but he currently has a bevy of open malpractice suits, including allegations of sexual battery and physical assault, DUI convictions and pending disciplinary action from the California Medical Board.
In an initial statement Adams said that West's death was "unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting."
An autopsy performed on November 13 will officially determine Dr. Donda West's cause of death. Funeral arrangements are reportedly scheduled for Tuesday, November 20 in Oklahoma.

Losing a parent, especially your mother, is never easy. I lost my mother thirty-one years ago and I am still feeling the pain, because I too felt that her death could have been avoided. My mother was a kind and generous person and believed that God had a plan and that no matter what the conditions, when it was your turn, nothing or no one could prevent it. Life is just one step from the cradle to the grave.
I received a card from a dear friend when my mother died and the words are everlasting....."In a time of such sudden sadness and so many unanswered questions, it may be hard to find the memories you need to help comfort you. But they are there. When you find them, may their love and warmth bring you peace. With deepest sympathy
Kanye, go on with your life. TThere is a lesson to be learned from this horrible tragedy.

The scriptures tell us "Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the earth." Kanye, know that in spite of your pain that Jesus loves you, and He has recorded in the heavenlies the love and honor that you gave to your mother. When you feel overwhelmed, ask the Lord to lead you to the Rock, which is Jesus. For earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. May God bless you in the midst of this trying season in your life. I love you. (Sister Ginger Griffin, Mitchellville, MD.)

Kanye, I am sorry about your mom. It is unfortunate that she died so needlessly. People please, let us learn to love ourselves the way we are instead of running to these hatchet men (and women) to "undo" what God has done. Tummy tucks, face lifts, breast reductions, lipo this and that. When will we EVER learn? In the words of India Arie, "I know my CREATOR didn't make no mistakes on me, my hips my thighs my lips my eyes, I'm LOVING what I see." Unless it is a medical emergency that we have some reconstructive surgery done to repair or replace something, why bother to have ourselves ripped apart, shifted, sliced and dice, suctioned, stuffed and peeled? Inner beauty goes far beyond outter beauty. Blessings

Her wings has now grown to their full potential. The trials and tribulations that she endured here on earth prepared her for this flight. The goodness that she posessed, was far too deep for this world to understand. The Father called out unto his child: She obeyed His command and took flight. If he wasn't ready for her, then she would have stayed a little while longer. Kanye and Family, keep your heads up, for one day when your wings are at that potential where God knows that you are ready to fly, then he will bid you to come. (Just Be Ready!) This is your trial. Endure it and watch the JOY come. This life isn't about us. It's about God. Lift him up inspite of what you are going through, for it's only to glorify him, most of all He is our comfort. Seek him for it, and you will find it. God bless you all.

Kayne i have so much sympathy for you and your family, death is a hard pill to swallow, especially if it was faulty, mothers are blessings from god, just like children are, and your mom was a beautiful lady that was very intelligent and full of life, moms hold all the ingredients together like a pie as far as life, just know this she is a angel now looking down on you and she loves you very much, she was a soldier down here and now she is a soldier for god.Ask god to come into your life and ease some of your pain.

People,
We must always investigate the backgrounds of professional people before we allow them to cut anywhere on our body. And also remember that a little more exercise
and attention to diet can do more for you than Doctor's cutting off the body parts. Love yourself as you are and move to naturally correct the things that need improvement.
