Rodney King, famous for a videotaped beating from Los Angeles police back in 1991, was shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday. King called police just before midnight to report the shooting. According to Sgt. Don Lewis, King was struck in the face and arm -- with what appeared to be pellets or birdshot. When police arrived at King's home, they reported that King and others inside appeared drunk.
The man got shot in the face -- he deserves a drink!
King was taken to a local hospital, and his wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.

What makes people think that money will change you It justs gives you more freedom to show who you actually are. People remember most people with money are not happy . and when thid man loses all he has there will not be a slew of friends around Pride first then destruction

It's unfortunate that many of you are so negative yourselves. And so self rightous. Four Hundred years of slavery can not be rectified within a mere forty years. Because so many of our young people have
not experience blatant racism you have no insight. You believe that a college education alone can lead to success in a country were only Black celebrities are valued. You are wrong. Unless all people regardless of race are treated with respect this country will continue to remain in the state it is in. Rodney King is just one example of how a life can
go wrong and be unable to fully recover. Please don't forget how the residents of New Oleans were treated after Katrina hit. How Bush reacted or how police were instructed to shoot looters. These people were trying to survive a horrific experience. And yet they were deemed worthless just because they were mostly Black and/or too poor to leave the city. Please remember: "There, but for the grace of God go I".

Wow, look at all of the comments from the ignorant white people. Perhaps they forgot that their number 2 hero Dick injured his buddy with a shotgun blast.
Oh, my bad! I forgot Republicans don't make mistakes like that, nor do they shoot one another on purpose. They just tap their feet in bathroom stalls.

There are indeed alot of ignorant people on this site! Racism is wrong on every level. You don't have to like a person to respect a person! Regardless of Mr. King's police records, drug abuse or social enviroment, he's still a human being and deserves to be treated like one. So what if he was drinking when he was recently shot...from my understanding, he was at home!

everybody keep in mind that case was about police brutality , if not for the video we never would have heard of rodney king . lapd have brutalize a whole lot more poeple black and white and mexicans too that was not video taped . for anyone to say he deserve to get beat regardless what drugs he was on should be beat down for being stupid. does anybody remember the homeless woman who was shot because she brandished a screwdriver , how about Eula Love shot down in front of her children way back in the seventies. The shit builds up and when it explodes some people think it was that one incident. If people cannot get justice in the courtroom unfortunatly the frustration comes out in the form of rioting yes in our neigborhoods, it aint right but I understand.

f*ck what other people think about black people each one has to have someone else to make them feel better about themselves, Just in recent times it been proven black people are no worse than any other race. Which brings to light why are so many in prisons I dont know the stats but in any college level sociology class its well known since black people cannot afford private attorneys they will do the time for activities that anyone else would get probation or community service for . crack versus powder cocaine . Oh yeah we can improve ourselves, but I'm tired of hearing how black people are the scurge of the earth , hell if we was not here they would find someone else to blame and persecute.

Hey, I was in SD when the riots happened. Being a white guy I was very thankful to be in a snug location at the time. I was with two very good friends cooped in a hotel waiting it out. We watched it happen on TV. The three of us were awed, a few miles up I5 the world was coming to an end. We were being told not to move around the city. Not a problem, we weren't going anywhere. I was embarrased at what I saw on the videos of the beating of Mr King, my friends were engaged at what they saw of there own people burning there own city down. I saw the rage, I saw the helplesness, I saw the frustration of two friends that knew everything their fathers and grand fathers had fought for was being used for the destruction of their own people. All of this for a drugged-up man who could care less about what happens other that where his next rush is coming from. I know what my friends wanted, they didn't want this man to be a spokesman.
