With Oprah's endorsement of Barack Obama, or the "Oprah Effect" as some call it, getting all the buzz lately, Hillary Clinton's campaign recently made a counter move with an endorsement from one of America's most beloved writers, Maya Angelou. The award-winning poet is featured in a new South Carolina radio ad in which she calls Clinton, "my girl." In the 60 second ad, which appears only within the state, Angelou says, "I am inspired by Hillary Clinton - a daughter, a wife, a mother. My girl."
She continues saying, "Each generation of African-Americans stands on the shoulders of those who came before," Angelou says in the ad. "Today, the challenges facing us threaten the dreams we have had for our children. We need a president with the experience and strength to meet those challenges."
Despite her relationship with Oprah, Angelou's friendship with Hillary dates back to when former president Bill Clinton was still senator of Arkansas. Angelou was also the poet for Bill's 1993 inauguration address.
The ad started circulating at the same time as the Sunday rally of more than 29,000 at Williams-Brice Stadium in South Carolina for Barack Obama, prominently featuring Oprah and other celebrities.
At this point in the campaign trail, the competition seems to have veered away from all those important issues and right now appears to be a game of "who can attract the bigger names."
So in case you were wondering, so far, notable celebrity campaign endorsements for Hillary include, actor Barbera Streisand, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Madonna and of course, rapper 50 cent.
While Obama is backed by George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, to name just a few and of course the all mighty "Oprah Effect".
With it being chic to publicly endorse the democratic front-runners and all these celebrities voicing their support, the question is, how much do these endorsements really influence the voting public?

HILLARY IS AN OPEN BOOK...THE REPUBLICANS CANNOT ATTACK HER....OBAMA IS FRESH MEAT...HE HASN'T BEEN ATTACKED SO FAR...BUT IF HE WINS THE PRIMARIES...THE REPUBLICANS WILL BE WAITING TO SLING MUD AGAINST HIM SO MUCH SO...THEY WILL HAVE HIM LOOKING LIKE A DRUG USER...RAPPER...ETC. THEN ALL OF SUDDEN...THE RACE WILL BE CHANGE FROM BLACK VERSUS WHITE...AND THE REPUBLICANS WILL BE BACK IN OFFICE WITH THE SAME OLD SH-T.
JOHN MCCAIN REFERED TO HILLIARY AS THE B-WORD. ALL OF THE REPUBLICANS HATE HILLARY BUT THEY LOVE OBAMA...YOU HAVE NOT HEARD THEM SAYING ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT OBAMA...WHY?...OBAMA IS BLACK...HE SHOULD BE GETTING CALLED ALL THE NAMES AND HAVE ALL THE NEGATIVE RACIST AND INCOMPETENCIES HURLED AT HIM...BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING....HAVE YOU?
EVEN BILL O'REILY HAS NOT SAID ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT OBAMA...THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG...REALLY WRONG. O'REILY NOT TALKING NEGATIVE ABOUT SOMEONE BLACK?...O'REILY CONFIRMED WHAT MOST OF US INFORMED BLACKS ALREADY KNOW...OBAMA IS THE REPUBLICANS DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.
ALL OF THE REPUBLICANS KNOW THAT HILLARY WANTS THE RICH...NOT YOU...NOT ME....BUT THE RICH....TO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OR MORE OF TAXES. AND THIS WOULD EXPLAIN WHY OPRAH AND WILL SMITH ARE ENDORSING OBAMA.
WE ALL KNOW THAT OPARH AND WILL SMITH HAVE LOTS OF MONEY...THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME KIND OF MONEY THE RICH REPUBLICANS HAVE...THEREFORE THEY WANT TO ENDORSE OBAMA...AS OPPOSED TO HILLARY BECAUSE HILLARY WILL MAKE PEOPLE LIKE OPRAH AND WILL SMITH PAY MORE IN TAXES PERCENTAGE WISE THAN YOU AND I.
OPRAH AND WILL SMITH ARE NOT MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA...BUT YOU AND I ARE THE SHRINKING MIDDLE CLASS. HILLARY WANTS TO BRING US BACK...AND THE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO INCREASE TAXES ON THE RICH (OPRAH AND WILL SMITH...WARREN BUFFET...DICK CHENEY AND HIS PEOPLE ETC.)...AND LOWER TAXES FOR YOU AND I.
WARREN BUFFET ONE OF THE RICHEST MEN IN THIS COUNTRY STATED THAT HE PAYS LESS PERCENTAGE WISE IN TAXES THAN HIS RECEPTIONIST...HE ADMITTED THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG IN THIS COUNTRY...WHEN HE HAS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND HE PAYS LESS PERCENTAGE WISE IN TAXES THAN HIS RECEPTIONIST...AND HE IS RIGHT...AND ANYONE WITH AN OUNCE OF COMMON SENSE SHOULD KNOW THAT...JUST LOOK AT YOUR PAY STUB...LOOK HOW MUCH IS TAKEN OUT FOR TAXES...HILLARY WILL LOWER TAXES FOR THE POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS...THAT MEANS LOWER TAXES FOR YOU AND I...AND SHE WILL RAISE TAXES ON THE RICH...LIKE DICK CHENEY AND HIS PEOPLE...OPRAH AND WILL SMITH ETC.
OPRAH DOES NOT WANT THAT...SHE WANTS TO CONTINUE PAYING THE SAME AMOUNT IN TAXES SHE PAYS TODAY...THIS TIME NEXT YEAR. I WANT TO PAY LESS IN TAXES NEXT YEAR THAN WHAT I PAY TODAY...DON'T YOU?
HILLARY WANTS TO BRING BACK THE MIDDLE CLASS...AND ALL OF YOU READING THIS SHOULD WANT THE SAME.
THE REPUBLICANS ARE COUNTING ON YOU TO VOTE FOR OBAMA...JUST BECAUSE AND ONLY BECAUSE HE IS BLACK.
THE REPUBLICANS DON'T HAVE A STONG REPUBLICAN CANDIATE...ANY CANDIDATE THEY HAVE...HILLARY WILL WIN OVER THEM...AND THEY KNOW THAT...AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT TO.
OBAMA....CAN NOT WIN...FACE IT PEOPLE...THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR A BLACK PRESIDENT BUT THE TIME FOR THE CURRENT REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION TO GET OUT OF OFFICE.
HOW CAN A BLACK CANDIDATE WITH OUT ANY EXPERIENCE...RAISE MORE MONEY IN HIS CAMPAIGN THAN ANY OTHER DEMOCRACT OR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE...THAT SHOULD GIVE YOU YOUR ANSWER TO WHAT IS GOING ON.
W A K E U P!!!!!!!
COME ON PEOPLE IT IS NOT THAT HARD...THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE...THIS IS COMMON SENSE....JUST PLAIN OLD COMMON SENSE.
THE REPUBLICANS TOLD THEIR PEOPLE TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO OBAMA...IN OTHER WORDS FOR YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO STILL DON'T GET IT..
THE REPUBLICANS PAID FOR THE DEMOCRACTIC CANDIDATE THEY WANT TO FACE OFF WITH IN THE PRIMARIES...AND THAT CANDIDATE IS OBAMA....AGAIN THE REPUBLICANS ARE USING BLACK VOTES...TO REMAIN IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
OBAMA...HAD MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BEFORE OPRAH...WILL SMITH AND ANY OTHER BLACK CELEBRITY CAME ON BOARD.
OBAMA...HAD MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BEFORE BLACK AMERICA...EVEN KNEW HE WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT...HOW?...BASED ON WHAT?
PEOPLE QUIT BEING SO STUPID...THE REPUBLICANS GOT US LAST TIME...LET'S NOT LET THEM DO IT TO US AGAIN.
LET'S STEP UP BLACK AMERICA...AND VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE THAT HAS THE BEST CHANCE OF REMOVING THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION OUT OF OFFICE...AND THAT CANDIATE IS HILLARY CLINTON.
THE REPUBLICANS HATED BILL CLINTON AND NOW THEY HATE HILLARY...WHY?...WHAT DID HILLARY DO TO THE REPUBLICANS?
SHE WANTS TO LOWER TAXES ON THE POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS AND RAISE TAXES ON THE RICH...AND THE REPUBLICANS KNOW SHE WILL DO IT...AND THEY HATE HER FOR THAT... THEY KNOW THAT SHE IS CONCERNED FOR THE POOR AND THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THEY HATE HER FOR THAT.
ANY CANDIDATE THAT THE REPUBLICANS HATE...IS THE CANDIDATE THAT HAS THE GREATEST....GREATEST CHANCE OF BEING THE NEXT PRESIDENT...AND THAT PERSON IS HILLIARY CLINTON
THE REPUBLICANS LIKE OBAMA...THEY HATE BILL AND HILLIARY CLINTON.

We need stop looking at the race of the person but who can run this country.I am a BLACK female and I admire Mr Obama but I don't vote because the person is black or white.I never heard of Mr Obama until maybe a year or two or ago if that long.I'm voting for Mrs Clinton because she is a very strong person, this goes back to when the press and the public was on her because she wouldn't leave her husband and how she stood up to them and didn't back down.I feel she can standup to the pressure of running ths country and great president.

The real behind the scene leaders are testing the water to see of they can get by with placing a black man in the white house to change the image of America. If this does not work he will leave the position and be held to blame. This is the continued effects of the marketing of white supremancy. Do you ever wonder why only highly paid black male athletes and actors get arrested on a monthly basis for committing some crime. Yet their white male counterparts images remain un-paralled clean. In order to have a superior you must have an inferior.
Both sister Oprah and Mya are only both repaying their dued. The two new world power player are coming into view, the white man and the black women, lets not let the small print keep us from seeing the big picture. Sis.Peace, love and reality....

Come on now all she said was she is MY GIRL which I took to mean she likes her as a person no where in the quote does she say she supports her for President read it again.BELOW WITH MY NOTES I agree with Cecil Jones it is a game being played to "Divide to Conquer", Let's not fall for one of the oldest games that get us down every time
With Oprah's endorsement of Barack Obama, or the "Oprah Effect" as some call it, getting all the buzz lately, Hillary Clinton's campaign recently made a counter move with an endorsement from one of America's most beloved writers, Maya Angelou.
GOOD TRY HILLARY'S PR GROUP
The award-winning poet is featured in a new South Carolina radio ad in which she calls Clinton, "my girl." In the 60 second ad, which appears only within the state, Angelou says, "I am inspired by Hillary Clinton - a daughter, a wife, a mother. My girl."

"Today, the challenges ("DIVIDE TO CONQUER",) facing us threaten the dreams we have had for our children.
We need a president with the experience and strength to meet those SHE DID NOT SAY HILLARY WAS THE ONE WE NEEDED
challenges."

Hello Everybody, I watch Maya Angelou on a talk show years ago, I think it might have been the Johnny Carson show, and she was the only reason that I watch the show. She was talking about her book which was "I know why the cage bird sings" and I was so proud of her when she was telling the story about how when she was a very little girl and wishing that she had long blond hair, but when she grew older she realized that she didn't want long blond hair at all, and how proud she was by being black and was happy with her natural hair which was black. Then she said something that almost made me cry because I was so proud to here her say that, and it was "The Black Man's Survival is the Black Women" and two or three months later she married a White man. Since then I've naver read anything of hers. By the way, I don't care who marries who, but when a black women says that she is my survivel and then marries the a white (The Enemy)then my furture as a black man is very much in doubt. Before this happen, I told ny wife that if I should ever meet either Ruby Dee or Maya Angelou on any New York street or anywhere else I was going to hug them because I was so proud of them, well no hugs for Ms. Angelou, but I still would like to meet Ms. Ruby Dee and hug her for what she and her late hunband Mr. O. Davis has done for so many blacks today. To those two especially, I say THANK YOU. By the way my Black people, if we don't support our people, who will? Thanks again.
Bob Burnett.

I respect Maya Angelou and the rest of the "old guard" black leadership and influencers. The endorsement of these type of people do not speak for those of the younger generation. Obama is about the future..We will celebrate our past and these leaders, but we will EMBRACE our FUTURE..
