Hillary Rodham Clinton said this week that she and rival presidential candidate Barack Obama are where they are because of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"We have to bring our party together and our country together," the New York senator added.
The former first lady spoke Monday at a New York ceremony honoring King's birthday, which was sponsored by the Service Employees International Union.
Her comments came as she and Obama have become embroiled in racially tinged disputes.
"Dr. King's dream began to be realized when President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It took a president to get it done, " Clinton said.
Some, including Sen. James Clyburn of South Carolina, took this as a dig at Dr. King's true affect on the civil rights movement.
Tell us what you think.

I refuse to vote for Barack Obama simply because he is black. I don't believe this is what this country needs at this time. Futhermore just because we go out and vote does't mean that he will win. I don't have a degree in anything. I think that all this is just a big misunderstanding.

Bob Johnson said he was insulted.Bob should be ashamed of himself. To join Hillary Clinton to diminish Dr. King only days from Dr. Kings Birthday is disrespectful to Dr. King, Dr. Kings family and his supporters.Bob also made a comment about Obama drug use. The only difference between Obama,Bob,Bill and Hillary is Obama admit it.I would like to know if the rumor that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian is true or not. It would explain Bill unfaithfulness to Hillary.

On Friday (1/11) Hillary Clinton tried to connect with a group of Latino voters by comparing the country's issues to "Guacamole and Chips." Most mainstream outlets aren't touching it. But if you search Clinton and chips it comes up on several of the Latin-American websites. One Latino brother was able to get an article on cnn. Link Below.
Here's the Article:

I am appauld that some black entertainment personalities are taking out of context the remarks made by Senator Hilary Clinton and former president Bill clinton. For those that accusing the Hiliary camps for injecting race into this historic campaign for the presidency of the most powerful country in the world, the USA, let me remind you that it was the representative of the Obama's campaign,Dr. Michael Dikeson on MSNBC with Chris Matthews who said that Obama lost the NH election because of the Brady's effect. Which suggest to say that White people did not vote for Obama because he is black. Retrospectively, in December during one of Obama's campaign rally,he identified himself as the cousin of vice-president Dick Chinney with reference to his mother, when his audience were predominantly whites and other hand, when Obama is before his black audiences he identify himself as an African-American because of his paternal linkage. My question is who is Obama? What does he stands for and what is his accomplishments as a senator in Springfield and Washington? What has he done for the black community? Unlike Obama, Bill clinton presidency appointed the first black Commerce Secretary, HUD, the first Hispanic Energy Secretary etc... and let,s not forget that it was under the Clinton administration that the minimum wage was increased from $3.25/hr to almost $7.00/hr. Hilary was the first to take on the task of universal health care but unfortunately it met with opposition by the Republican-controlled house. In addition, Hilary was the first woman to advocate for women rights in Communist China. I think it is time for all of us to stop playing the racial card and look at the record of each candidate and his or her accomplishments before making a decision. For me, Hilary is best qualified at this time to be leader of the free world.

I can remember -- I can remember when Negroes were just going around as Ralph has said, so often, scratching where they didn't itch, and laughing when they were not tickled. But that day is all over. We mean business now, and we are determined to gain our rightful place in God's world.
And that's all this whole thing is about. We aren't engaged in any negative protest and in any negative arguments with anybody. We are saying that we are determined to be men. We are determined to be people. We are saying -- We are saying that we are God's children. And that we are God's children, we don't have to live like we are forced to live.
Now, what does all of this mean in this great period of history? It means that we've got to stay together. We've got to stay together and maintain unity. You know, whenever Pharaoh wanted to prolong the period of slavery in Egypt, he had a favorite, favorite formula for doing it. What was that? He kept the slaves fighting among themselves. But whenever the slaves get together, something happens in Pharaoh's court, and he cannot hold the slaves in slavery. When the slaves get together, that's the beginning of getting out of slavery. Now let us maintain unity.
Now let us maintain unity.
Martin Luther King Jr.
