Hillary Rodham Clinton said this week that she and rival presidential candidate Barack Obama are where they are because of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"We have to bring our party together and our country together," the New York senator added.
The former first lady spoke Monday at a New York ceremony honoring King's birthday, which was sponsored by the Service Employees International Union.
Her comments came as she and Obama have become embroiled in racially tinged disputes.
"Dr. King's dream began to be realized when President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It took a president to get it done, " Clinton said.
Some, including Sen. James Clyburn of South Carolina, took this as a dig at Dr. King's true affect on the civil rights movement.
Tell us what you think.

Wake up - Do you really think the Clintons have your best interests over their direct #1 intentions of getting in the white house again?
She was the direct one that started the slamming Obama.
If she is so experienced why does she keep slamming him and not talking about the issues?
Who do you think is behind the culinary people maybe not getting to vote close to their jobs in Nevada because of Obama endorsement. Who do you think?
Obama 08

So, who is Clinton comparing herself to? LBJ. Give me a break. I hope people wake up and see the Clintons for who they really are. They can't even fight fair on the actual issues. I heard Billary's comments with my own two ears and so did Representative Jim Clyburn (D-SC), Donna Brazile (a former Clinton adviser), and Tim Russert. The Clintons will do whatever it takes to get into the White House. Hillary looks like she's made a deal with the devil and she knows it.

the clintons had the black vote throo the 90s,and they did more for african americans then any us president ever........obama just does nt have the experience, lets not turn our backs on the clinton machine just to support a oprah endorsed black jr senator......hillary remains the national frontrunner and will take the white house in november....the black community needs to have hillarys back as they have all along, and in return the clinton machine will return the favor tenfold....theyre record in civil rights speaks for itself.vote clinton, for our future of a stronger united america.....THE CLINTON MACHINE WILL THRIVE,CAN U IMAGINE BILL HILLARY AND A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS

The 90's were great because of technology and new computer companies - don't give the credit for that to the Clintons

Looks like the Clintons have been passing out a lot of handkerchiefs. Just listen to the attacks on Senator Obama and you will recognize those brothers and sisters who've been admitted into the Big Houst.

Yes, English is a tricky tool ... so, she ought to be clearer like Obama.
No mistake with that Man, he's one of a kind. If you, Americans miss this opportunity, regardless of your racial codes, you, African Americans and other nominations of American will regret it ... like all of us in the Black Diaspora ... and the entire world. You do not, I repeat, DO NOT know how much damage American foreign politiks has done to the world. Please, help to heal it. Only you can afford to have presidents like the Bush, the Clintons, the Reagans ... Good save America!

I don't have to waste my time on reading anything Hillary Clinton says and try to back peddle her sorry behind out of. If people don't know by now that they are being used by the Clinton, then they are dumber then I thought they were.
I turn the channel every time I see some stupid black person sucking up to her and Wild Bill. When Ebony/Jet and the other black magazines make a habit of feature them as so call role model's, I don't buy the magazines any more , nor do I read them.
Go to Hope Arkansas or ask Ron Brown's family what they think about the Clinton's, that's if they didn't kill off the rest of the Brown's.
These are dangerous and evil people. Hillary talks out of both sides of her mouth and will lie/cheat/steal/kill to get back into the White House, a place neither her and Bill Clinton shown any respect for.
Wake up AMERICA! Send these carpetbaggers back to where they belong.
