With so much at stake in the 2008 elections, African American bloggers have committed to doing their part to help remove barriers to full participation in the electoral process. The Afrosphere Action Coalition has launched a nonpartisan voter registration and voter education campaign, Proud Black Voter.
The campaign hopes to:
+ Inform the public about the importance of the need to vote
+ Facilitate people in getting registered
+ Encourage greater voter registration and election participation within the black community
Hicks added, "It is a way to use cyberspace to uplift people of African descent by pointing out ways for them to get registered and vote no matter where they live or who they want to support."

If you are registered to vote or trying to register to vote, you MUST present some kind of identification so that the person knows it is you and not someone trying to be you. Having proper identifications HELPS not hurt any community, it protects the system from voting FRAUD. Let's use common sense people. GET ID, cut down of voting fraud. Poor people need id to get their work check cashed, their ssi/ssa/or other government checks cashed or to get jobs. WE NEED A VOTER ID POLICY in this country, otherwise dead people, illegal aliens, and other non citizens would be voting in this election.
