Reports have come out that Bryant Purvis, one of six black male teenagers implicated in the infamous Jena 6 case is in trouble again. This time, the 19-year-old allegedly yoked up a dude that was accused of flattening the tires on his car. Purvis was subsequently arrested after the incident at Hebron High School in Carollton, Tex., where he has gone to live with his uncle Jason Hatcher, a Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman. He was later released on bail.Accordnig to reports, the whole incident started over hearsay, and doesn't look like it had to go this far. Honestly, this is the type stuff that happens in high schools every day. But Purvis' case is special. He's not just the guy who gets into it with another cat over his car. He's the guy who gets into it with another cat over his car, and also happens to be implicated in one of the hot button issues of 2007.So it probably behooves him to keep his nose clean for the time being.
Hey, not being judgmental, Lord knows I got into my share of fights in high school, but me and my crew weren't civil rights posterboys either.
Anyway, the charges in this incident are pending against Purvis, on top of the Jena charges, in which Purvis has maintained his innocence. In total, it could keep him locked up for a grip, like more than 20 years, according to the AP.
The person I really feel for is Ma Dukes. Nobody's mom wants to go through having a kid tripped up in the legal system, and it must be doubly tough to have your son on blast like this.
On the other hand let me get in a few punches myself: La Salle Parish District Attorney Reed Walters, the prosecutor in this case should definitely be investigated for abuse of power and coercion.
If they did it to Mike Nifong for doing his job, then they should do it to Walters for being an asshole.

Cry me a river. Nifong wasn't doing his job. He was cowered by the black KKK who used racially charged language to get this black whore with a criminal record to be seen as credible when she wasn't. Did you know that after she was found to be lying Jesse still gave her a bunch of cash and prizes for her efforts to get a bunch of innocent white guys convicted of rape. If Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton had their way those boys would have been dangling under a tree. TWICE Al Sharpton has partaken in rape hoaxes- it is his that needs to pay for violating the civil rights of men repeatedly by screaming "RAPE!!!!!!!!!!"

I am sad to see that we still live in a society today that racism is alive, and you guys are teaching your kids this mess. I pray that this young man can finally get some where that he does not have to live in this type of behavior, and to stop looking over his shoulder or "CAR' and wonder what next. You guys please stop this nonsence PLEASE.

Hey Folks;
Lets not get into the racial name calling (nappy, etc.). This is about justice, pure and simple. If that young man (not a "boy" at his age) were WHITE, I'm sure they would have thrown a much LIGHTER book at him, if any at all.
They say civil rights won human rights for those historically denied ... but with this sort of thing happening, I wonder ....

really I THANK GOD greatly that HE didn't allow me to have or bring up a child in this racist world as of yet, however, along the way each and everyday I am learning what to look out for for my child when i do have one. I am going through a lot down here in NC because this is an AT WILL state in which the employer can terminate you at anytime without cause I mean its just another form of hidden discrimination that's why I pray that prior to me having children that I be self employed and at my fullest potential. I mean its like the ignorance from these folks are coming back again but WE are not like our ancestors whom were afraid to fight back in those days I mean black folks get very raw now we are not like we were in the 50's or 60's but up North in Jersey we always fought back but the one thing I will never condone is racial discrimination

Just as the internet is an excellent tool some everyone to express themselves, it is also a vehicle for the racist individuals to keep the fuel of racism pouring on the flames in American's lives. I happened to live in Texas and recently heard of this incident. This is what my understanding is to what happened. Purvis and another white male student had an disagreement about a parking spot at the school, a parking spot that Purvis had parked in. Words were exchanged but nothing physical took place. When Purvis return to his vehicle later that day the tires on his vehicle were flatted. Because of the previous incident that had occurred, Purvis assumed the young who he had the incident early that day was responsible, approached him and a fight insued. How much truth there is to this story I do not know, it is all here say. But racism have of way of using certain situation to create racial tension. I just hope a smarter America will prevail. Mr Purvis try allowing the law to handle your problem, even though what you have experienced it is differcult for any of us, who have not gone through what you to say, to allow the, because I am sure your answer would be WHAT LAW ?

SMDH!! When will black people wake up and smell the coffee? Provocation is a tool used by white America to incarcerate us and keep us down. We react and look like the agressor and they always come off as the innocent victim, even when they initiate trouble. Stop feeding into this mindset and stop giving them the ammunition they need to succeed in bringing us down. Rise above this and prove to white America and yourselves that you are better than that.

Its Funny All the white people are so quick to dismiss the black chick in the Duke case as a non-credible whore who was "out to get" the white duke lacrosse players. Which she may well have been. Remember the lily white girl from colorado who wrote in her yearbook that she was going to sleep with Kobe by any means necessary..? You know the one who "didnt appear to be in distress" according to her co-worker at the hotel said when asked by police about her behavior immediately returning to work right after the "alleged" rape occurred. Who might I add, went to investigators to file her case with NO LESS than 3 different mens semen stains in her underwear. Which is nasty on so many other levels, who abruptly when it came time to recant her story under oath in front of her alleged assaulter she decided it wasnt something she wanted to do.. How come the same malicious language is not used to describe her..?

Man another black male (I am black) that doesn't get it. White folks have tempted us for years to knock the crap out of them. Many times I have bite my tongue and held back because that is what they do provoke!
