In a statement, Simmons swore allegiance to Obama: "While I am endorsing Senator Obama as a private citizen, I am in complete solidarity with the transformative consciousness of the growing number of artists and young people from the hip-hop generation that are overwhelmingly supporting Obama."Simmons previously was in solidarity with Dennis Kucinich. In an interview with the New York Times last year, he dismissed Obama as a change agent: "So at the end of the day, he's controlled, too. That's my point. He's a mouse, too, like everybody else."
Simmons will campaign for Obama in Cleveland, Kucinich's hometown. Reality bites and "the best laid schemes of mice and men go oft awry."

As a mother I CANNOT VOTE FOR OBAMA! obama voted against requiring medical care for aborted fetuses who survive. Abortion opponents see Obama's vote on medical care for aborted fetuses as a refusal to protect the helpless. Some have even accused him of supporting infanticide. Obama trivializes abortion by his attempt to find consensus social issues on which to base his campaign. He has a long record that neglects protecting pre-born children. 1452 black babies lose their lives to abortion every day in America. Unbelievably, Obama continues to refuse to address the disproportionate killing of African American babies in their mother's womb. Obama even supports the killing of born and partially born children. Michelle Obama proclaimed for “the first time” in her adult life,” she was proud of America, as she spoke during a rally to support her husband’s presidential bid. My family and friends are AMERICANS and have always been PROUD OF OUR COUNTRY. ANOTHER OBAMA GOOF WHEN THERES NO SCRIPT. OBAMA IS A NO GO FOR ANY PATRIOT OF THIS GREAT NATION.
The first time in her adult life she is proud to be American? What kind of trash is that? I am married to a military man, I have lived all over the world and in all kinds of situations.....never NEVER have I been ashamed or embarrassed to be an American!!!!! There were times when I wasnt espeically proud of some of our leaders...BUT ALWAYS I WAS PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!! Why is she so proud NOW to be an American? Because a black man is running for President? Because she will be in the White House if he wins? Or because for the past 6 months or so her husband has been taking issues from the other candidates and claiming them as his own under the word change? Obama has no issues of his own. Not one idea he has used has been his own. Change..Edwards was talking change long before Obama came up with it...Change..Hillary was talking change last year. What will this guy do, when he has no one to steal a speach or an idea from anymore? He will be come a Democratic George Bush... because he has no idea!! And Michele will be proud.

The majority of the American Black community claims that they want to live in a society where discrimination doesn't exist, but appears they are not practicing what they are preaching. when Obama continually pulls 90%+ of the black vote, it's obvious that most blacks are voting for a candidate because of skin color. The odd thing is people like John Lewis who marched for equal rights jumps on the prejudice bandwagon, I’m sure he realizes what it does to his credibility. Obama camp have been calling African-American superdelegates to target, harass and threaten,” said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.), a superdelegate who supports Clinton. Cleaver said black superdelegates are receiving “nasty letters, phone calls, threats, being called an Uncle Tom. Rep. Diane Watson, D-Calif., also is receiving several e-mails from individuals saying they won’t vote for her if she doesn’t change her support to Obama, she should vote for him because she, too, is black. Rep. John Lewis, a black civil rights icon, sadly enough has given into the racial threatning politics of the Obama camp and switched his support from Clinton to Obama.JUST MORE OBAMA CAMP DIRTY POLITICS, LIKE BEING CAUGHT IN A LIE ABOUT CANADA MEETING! HE IS CORRUPT!
THEN ALL NON-BLACKS AND WOMEN VOTE FOR CLINTON?

All the hate in America, the land of DEMOCRACY? The Land where radio host who indulge in rape, drugs and ignorance get paid huge sums of money, to be idiots and encourage others to be ignorant as well in blogs, etc. This country should have better things to do then to insult each others culture, beliefs and abilities. It's getting tired people and you really sound so bitter, hateful and ignorant. I believe this is a sad day in America. We're more interested in hiding through our computers, televisions and radios while the rest of the world is laughing. I'm not looking to cast a vote for a Savior, but I'm looking for a President. And I am proud to say that my family will be voting for Barack H. Obama. I refuse to believe that experience will help this country get on the right track, when experienced took us off track. And one other thing my fellow haters every President's first term in office he was inexperienced as President!!! Love YA

Obama did not seek Rep. Lewis's endorsement, he became fearful himself when Obama carried his district so heavily, plus, the guy who will run againt him in November endorsed Obama early on. So you
see Obama doesn't have to harrass people to endorse him as these politicians are looking out for themselves.

I am just thankful that Obama had the nerve to make history. At least he is trying even though he is being criticized .I am just so happy to know he did what so many would not do.He challenged the white race by running for President of the U.S. Whether he win or not at least he tried and he held his head up and ran with a purpose.May God bless him and his family.I am proud to be a black woman living in this century and my children getting to see they can be anything they want to be.God Bless the U.S. and if Clinton get it just get ready for another Bill Clinton time, no change.

Why are Black Americans rallying behind Barack Obama? Simple answer – racial solidarity.
It's no different than when African-Americans gave Clarence Thomas a free pass by overlooking his alleged sexual harassment of Anita Hill. They overlooked that because they saw it as a conspiracy to deny (once again) a black man his due. And the proof is in the silence Black America practices with respect to Clarence's actual work on the Supreme court. He got there and this is all that matters to Black America: There's one of us on the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, in barber shops and hair salons all over Detroit, St. Louis, and Washington D.C., Black Americans don't even talk PROUDLY of Clarence. In fact, they never mention him at all. They don't even read the majority opinions he authors when he authors any. Rather, they treat him much like a wayward cousin or uncle who is one of their own, but just not beloved enough to earn a portrait slot - right below nanny's and grandpa's - above the fireplace mantel.
Similarly, Black America overlooked OJ's killing of his wife b/c they were tired of Black men being disproportionately incarcerated and penalized by a biased criminal justice system. They wanted white society to make amends for historical trespasses, and thus they did all they could NOT to believe and trust their own judgment. OJ would be innocent because for so long, mainstream American had been so guilty of assuming criminal intent and guilt simply based on the skin color of the accused. OJ would be innocent just to prove a point, but he wouldn't be innocent simply because the facts left a possibility of innocence. Never mind that all over the country during the time of the trial, thousands of "Keisha's" could be heard saying, "Girl, you know he did it!".
We now arrive at a significant point in history when a talented person of color is only inches from grasping the golden chalice. African Americans will rally around him and protect him irrationally, not because they understand his politics or favor his policy positions. No. In fact, many of his supporters can't even tell you his positions on say - health care, immigration policy, and affirmative action. They can't even name one significant piece of legislation he has sponsored in his less-than-one-term in the Senate. Rather, they rally because their act of rallying is a type of retribution - we (African Americans) are going to seize what is due us (entitlement mentality) and now you all (white America, and out-of-line African Americans too) stand the hell back.
The question of merit is not even on the table. Authenticity is less of an issue too, and even Barack Obama's no-show at the Sate of the Black Union conference in New Orleans was clearly overlooked by Black America. For much of Black America, it is a question of allowing one Black American to get his due for the rest of Black America who have been denied their due for so long. If he gets to the White House and stays there for 8 years AND does nothing all the while, they will be content in knowing that, well, a Black man was President of the US, just like another Black man sat on the US Supreme Court, and both in our lifetime. How they get there and whether or not they are qualified is irrelevant. The only thing that matters for the Black community is racial solidarity, and such solidarity even extends to pushing an adherent of post-racial politics over the proverbial hump so he can lay claim to a due for all the "peeps".

. I agree with the above statement and find the Clinton's style of politics reprehensible. Obama, though taking the high road thus far, may now have to point out all the reasons why Hillary will be a weak candidate given all the ammunition the Republicans have accumulated on her. If she becomes the nominee, I too, will vote for John McCain rather than put some closet racist back in the White house again. We now, have had almost 30 years with the Clintons and Bush's.
Why haven't the Clintons and news commentators spoke out on Fox's O'Reilly "lynching" statement, in reference to Michelle Obama. Kudos to our Star, for bringing it to our attention. How is it they can ask Obama about Rev. Wright and/or Farrakhan, and no one asks them about to denounce and reject O'Reilly
's statements. It is impossible for whites not to be racist in a racist society. Racism is more than just a mindset, it is the ability, potential or real, to impose power; and that abiility only resides with whites.
Additionally, Farrakhan cannot be the litmus test for every black politician, just like Strom Thurmond wasn't for every white politician. Thurmond was a US Senator and embraced by Trent Lott and his ilk. What were McCain's and Clinton's relationship to him, and were they asked if they rejected and denounced him? Farrakhan is a beloved leader in our community and because he has made some mistatements, will never be thrown out with the dishwater. With racists like Imus and O'Reilly lurking, we will always need leaders like Farrakhan. Who are these punks who think they can disrespect our women with impunity?
Obama will win, regardless of the challenges he faces, because he represents the warrior spirit of our ancestors and their collective spirits have joined to protect him and elevate him up as a true representative of their legacy. Together, WE WILL WIN, HARAMBEE!!!!!!!!!!
