One of my favorite songs is "The Impossible Dream" from the Broadway musical "Man of La Mancha." I would sing it as I planned my improbable journey from Bed-Stuy to Palo Alto to attend Stanford Law School. The song reverberated in my head as I read a recent opinion piece by Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Cynthia Tucker. She praised Barack Obama's call for a biracial coalition of Americans united to "solve the challenges of our time" together.Tucker wrote:
That high-minded appeal has drawn its share of skeptics, and for good reason. One of the more puzzling, yet persistent, features of the American political landscape has been the success of politicians who seize on racial tensions and long-simmering resentments to win over working-class white voters - even while supporting policies that betray the economic interests of that same group. ...A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows the hurdles are indeed higher. Among those who saw Obama's Philadelphia speech, 47 percent said he had "sufficiently addressed the Wright issue," 37 percent said "he needs to address it more." There is a racial gap in voters' response: 67 percent of blacks were satisfied with Obama's explanation compared to 45 percent of whites.
Obama isn't naive about the challenge he faces. And with the images of his incendiary former pastor playing over and over on cable TV and YouTube, his hurdles are higher than before. But he made a compelling case for ignoring the demagoguery and innuendo and divisiveness.
The poll also found:
- 29 percent of all voters say they need more answers about Obama's pastor disaster.
- 38 percent of white voters want Obama to address the Wright controversy further compared to 25 percent of black voters.
- 60 percent said Obama could be successful at uniting the country, compared to 58 percent who said John McCain could be a uniter and 46 percent who say Clinton do so.

John McCain said that Barack Obama has no foreign policy experience...from the looks of it no one in the white house has any real foreign experience. And, if elected, Obama can help stimulate the economy by giving jobs to people who have lots of foreign policy experience to help out.

A typical black person is a person who believes whites don't care about blacks.
Keeping it real. I'm tired of this b/s. I have tried to be nice, but all of these lies about Obama is pitiful. Just be honest, Ivy and etc... and say you people would never vote for a black man. Cool. I can accept that. I would never vote for a person over 60...including Hillary and MCCain.
Obama 2008...he represents the future of America!! :-)

I have friends and associates but that does not mean i subscribe to their point of view.I find it hard to believe that sen.obama would not be able to decypher the rants of a so call racists preacher. There are lots of reasons why people attend different churches and it not always what the pastor preaches. To hold him responsible for what the preacher says is stupid. It is probably their own racists way and excuse to not vote for him.Can you imagine you been held accountable for the words that comes out the mouths of family and friends.

alright folks ive got a few things that i wish to bring up about senator barack hussein obama.
1)his cousin raila amollo odinga. prime minister of kenya. his father jaramogi ajuma oginga odinga failed in an attempt to overthrow the kenyan government in 1982. odinga recently ran for president of kenya in 2007. on august 29th, 2007 odinga (representing the orange democratic movement) signed an 'agreement' between him and a party known as national muslim leaders forum. stating that he recognizes that islam is the ONLY true religion, and that if he was elected presidnt he would establish 'sharia law/courts, a muslim dress-code for all women, he would ban alcohol and pork, indoctrinate children, and he said that he would BAN THE PREACHING OF CHRISTIANITY! STATING THAT CHRISTIANS ARE 'WORSHIPPERS OF THE CROSS'. obamas 1st cousin by BLOOD. well after loosing the election by 230,000 votes an ISLAMIC JIHADIST group on his behalf torched a christian church in the town of eldoret while there were a few DOZEN christians inside. when some tried to escape they were meet with machetties and burned alive. in mr. odingas campain was a slogan that said 'vote for a positive change'. gee where else have i heard that before?
2)obama claims to be christian. but i thought it was once a muslim always a muslim...2 years in a christian school hardly trumps a life and family history of islam.
3)while obama was younger he openly admitts that he used cocaine, marijuanna, and alchohol to 'push questions of who he is out of his head'
4)when obama was younger he went to a school that taught sahib...which is the teaching of islamic jihad.
5)he has only had 3 years in office as a senator... thats it.
6)last but not least his full name.
