More trouble for Christine Beatty, the former chief of staff to Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, charged in the scandal that's rocked tha
t city.
Beatty is now forbidden to travel anywhere outside the state of Michigan. She must also now wear an electronic tether.
The new restrictions were imposed by Magistrate Steve Lockhart. It comes after it was discovered that Beatty planned to leave the state of Michigan for a job interview. Lockhart said that Beatty failed to provide the court with her travel itinerary and thus the tether rule was enforced.

What the hell are these people thinking? Are they aware that this is serious and not some kind of joke. I am a former Detroit resident and I have always been proud of my city, but these two are just sickening to watch, that also goes for his wife( Ms. Stand By Your Man) he is making her a laughing stock too. Good luck to them all and God Bless the City.

I personally think cheating is wrong but at the same time, I don't think it's for the world to judge these people. Everyone is entitle to a mistake. If his wife can forgive him why can't society? People that are bonified cheaters are going to comment on this like they never cheated before. The bottom line is everyone has done something one time or another that they wish didn't come to light he just got caught. Beside do anyone really expect this man to get up on the stand and say "yes I've been cheating on my wife". If it isn't broke don't try to fix it. Why tell on yourself? I personally think it should be laws that some questions can't be asked. Forget that this man is a public figure for 2 seconds and remember that he is a regular person at the end of the day. O.K he may loose his job...big deal, get a new one. The public dragging all his private business through the mud shameful. His wife already forgave him so, OUT OF RESPECT FOR HER AS A MOTHER AND WIFE PLEASE LET'S MOVE ON. Let that woman grieve in private. I've been cheated on and it hurts deeply, just imagine how she feels and the whole USA knows. Believe me everytime she reads something new the knife cuts deeper and deeper. Let's stop and think how we would feel if it was us? It's not to let he off easy it's to give her privacy. God Bless Her and Give Her The Strength To Do What It Is She Wants To Do, not what society won't let her forgive him for.

Everyone keeps forgetting that Kwame is the MAYOR of Detroit. He's not in hot water because of the actual affair, but what he did with city money and property to engage in this affair. Kwame has done a good job of reviving the city, but I do not agree with the way that he has handled other city business. He deserves to be punished for his actions. But at the same time, I believe that the media has gone too far into his personal life.

I think that personally cheating is wrong....I think that the more we as citizens of Detroit get into the actual knowledge of what has happened, we will then realize that we have elected the wrong man for this type of job.... It seems to me that Kwame Kilpatrick keeps apologizing for things only to commit bigger things to apologize for the next time......I can't understand why a man such as Kwame won't just resign instead of taking down a group of other professional people within the city..he was the one who started this mess and now instead of being a BIG MAN he wants to sink the ship with everyone else involved on it...these are the same people who have covered the party, the affair(s), the lies, etc.....why would you turn your backside to these LOYAL people now ???
