Obama wasted no time addressing the fallout from his comments that small town voters are "bitter" and "cling to guns or religion" because of economic uncertainty:
As I said yesterday, I regret some of the words I chose, partly because the way that these remarks have been interpreted have offended some people and partly because they have served as one more distraction from the critical debate that we must have in this election season.
Now, Senator McCain and the Republicans in Washington are already looking ahead to the fall and have decided that they plan on using these comments to argue that I'm out of touch with what's going on in the lives of working Americans. I don't blame them for this -- that's the nature of our political culture, and if I had to carry the banner for eight years of George Bush's failures, I'd be looking for something else to talk about too.Obama's gaffe is taking its toll. A new American Research Group survey of likely primary voters gives Hillary Clinton a 20-point lead over Obama. A week ago, they were tied. There is a racial divide in voters' preferences: Clinton leads among white voters 64-29 percent, and Obama leads among black voters 79-18 percent.
Meanwhile, Clinton is unloading on Obama in the Keystone State, where voters will go to the polls a week from today. She's running a new ad that touts her understanding of "the citizens of Pennsylvania."
Still, Obama gave Clinton props during the Q&A session. He rejected the notion that she should "step aside," saying:
Maybe I'm a contrarian but I actually think this has been good for the party because each state we've participated in, we've seen record registration, record turnout and people are engaged. That doesn't mean that I expect that I'll win all 50 states. What it does mean is that we're building a structure. That people are being trained as leaders and organizers in those states and it will serve Democrats well in November.Obama added:
I'm absolutely confident that come August and the convention, Democrats are going to be unified. Once Democrats are unified, the appeal of our message to independents and disaffected Republicans is going to be powerful.

It should be crystal clear that Obama cannot win this election without our help. It was never about Obama, "The Man", it was about the people who created the Movement that gave rise to Obama's opportunity. Geraldine Ferraro was angry at the fact that Obama is Black. Hillary is a gender backlash to "Quota Politics." Hillary cannot win this election unless Obama is destroyed or quits. Obama doesn't get it. America needs someone to "Support and Defend" the Constitution. Everything wrong in America stems from failures in our Constitution. Illegal immigration is the selective enforcement of the law leading to labor law violations condoned for profit. Domestic spying is a violation of freedom of speech, print, and due process. A court order could be obtained easily and that protects political activity and labor union support. Obama's "Bitter" remarks were true; but the power of a word is the right word can be twisted. The Constitution can't be twisted. Stick to the bedrock and win. Invite everyone to participate in the Democracy and the partisan divide will disappear. Clinton and Obama offer practically the same message. Who they bring to the debate is becoming more important than what they actually say. Clinton brings Bill and nobody wants to go through the bitter impeachment debate again. Obama brings radical thought and America can't handle facing those left behind. Stay focused on the Constitution. Bush and Clinton broke it.

obama was right on target about "bitter" feelings from the people who have lost confidance in their elected officials. if NAFTA IS BAD THEN IT WAS BAD WHEN THE CLINTON'S WERE IN OFFICE AND HILLARY LOBBIED CONGRESS TO PASS IT. NOW THAT PEOPLE ARE LOOSING ALL THEY HAVE WORKED FOR SHE WANTS TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT. WHEN LIFE IS TOUGH, I PRAY MORE, GO TO CHURCH MORE AND HAVE MORE SINS TO CONFESS. W.E.B.DUBOIS, a famous sociologist wrote THAT WHEN THE ECONOMY IS BAD, THERE IS AN INCREASE IN LYNCHINGS. THIS WAS A REPUTABLE STUDY. WHY THEN DO WE EVADE THIS ISSUE? OBAMA IS RIGHT. I PRAY AND MY SON GOES SHOOTING. SOME PEOPLE BLAME THE IMMIGRANTS, THE SAME ONES THAT WERE HERE WHEN THE ECONOMY WAS GOOD. AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS WE CAN ALWAYS FIND SOME STUPID THING TO BLAME. USUALLY SUGGESTED BY SOMEONE WHO IS RICH AND NOT BITTER BUT DON'T WANT TO SHARE THE WEALTH. BE HONEST, IF YOU ARE NOT BITTER, YOU SURE ARE PISSED OFF. IF NOT PISSED OFF, YOU ARE TRULY OUT OF TOUCH

Why do people consider Obama Black. He is bi-racial. His mother is White and raised him. He is from both White and Black. I think he is the best for President in America. Haters should get over their hate and understand, America is changing. The room for haters and bigots has ended. America: One nation, one country, one people of many cultures. We stand together and united.

Hillary Clinton never ceases to amaze me. Her reference to Senator Obama as an elitist is nothing less than the action of a very desperate woman. I looked up the term elitist on Wikipedia and found this definition "Elitism is the belief or attitude that those individuals who are considered members of the elite — a select group of people with outstanding personal abilities, intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes — are those whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight; whose views and/or actions are most likely to be constructive to society as a whole; or whose extraordinary skills, abilities or wisdom render them especially fit to govern [1]. Alternatively, the term elitism may be used to describe a situation in which power is concentrated in the hands of the elite." Everything she has done during this campaign has demonstrated that Senator Obama is anything but an elitist. The true elitist is the 3:00 A.M.phone answering, sniper dodging, North Ireland peace maker who has the distinction of being the FIRST FIRST LADY to come under criminal investigation, FIRST FIRST LADY to almost be indicted acccording to one of the special prosecutors who had 5 fundraisers convicted of, or pleading no contest to.
I think that the hard working people of Pennsylvania or any other state should seriously take a close look at you. Senator Obama has not lived off of the government (tax payer) for the past 20 plus years; he has not earned over $109,000,000.00 dollars over the past few years. He, like most other average Americans, came from humble beginnings and has had to struggle. Clinton, on the other hand, has not had to struggle like the people she is trying to appeal to. Please do not be deceived by Hillary Clinton's ability to twist and confuse issues. She knows just the right words to use to manipulate you to do her bidding. Does this sound familiar to you ? "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Oh yes, while she is busy demanding an apology for Senator Obama's "bitter" statement, how many times has she apologized for all the lies she told about dodging snipe fire in Bosnia, making peace in Northern Ireland, or being named after Sir Edmund Hillary?
There are those, unfortunately, who cannot or will not see through the Clinton lies and smoke screens. Many of those same people failed or refused to ask themselves why she would have easily removed herself from a church like Dr. Wright's when she DID NOT remove herself from the likes of a lying and adulterous husband who publically humiliated her and disgraced an entire nation. By the way, does anyone know where she attends church? Perhaps a closer look should be taken at the "Family" so that she can receive the same scrutiny she tried to heap upon Senator Obama. But, more importantly, I suggest that all of you who are intent on putting a congenital liar in the White House, please read Blizzard of Lies: Essay by William Safire. As far as I am concerned, the only thing that Senator Obama is guilty of is something that a Clinton CAN NEVER BE ACCUSED OF.....telling the truth. Americans are bitter and angry our economy and our lives are so messed up. We are bitter and we are angry that the only response we get from the real elitists is to be ignored or lied to by the likes of Clinton and McCain.

Hillary/Media's 'bitter' tactic against Obama desperately PITIFUL !
Here we go again ! When the campaign started in 2007 Obama was said to have not been 'black enough' as per the media as they touted Hillary's 82% support from Black Americans. The Clinton camp scrounged and dug as deeply as they could to find some kind....ANY kind of smut they could use against Obama, even searching as far back as his kindergarten writings. Couldn't find a thing. Then as Americans of all races learned more about the real Clintons, while learning more about the great qualities and capabilities of Obama, the inevitable was no more. So the Clintons (and the media) decided if they couldn't find anything negative on Obama, why not search through video tapes of Obama's preacher. Yea ! That's the ticket. So they scrounged and searched through years and years of video taped sermons and found a few somewhat harsh statements from the preacher....looped them all together....played them on the news 1 or 2 million times, in hopes that they could paint Obama as this anti-American-black militant type person....exactly what he is not (maybe they forgot he's also half white). But, polls showed their masterminded plot to be ineffective. Now what ? Ahhhhh. Obama makes a statement discussing how many Americans are fed up with government failures and are 'bitter'. The Clintons....McCain....the media....ALL decide....here's something we can jump on top of.....Obama called Americans 'bitter' ! So he's an elitist out of touch with real America!
This is the weakest attempt so far. How in the world can they try to claim that a little black boy who's father left at age 2....raised by a single white mother...so broke at times that she was on food stamps....a boy who grew up and went to college through grants and scholarships....riding to school daily in a ragedy jalopy.....just recently paying off his student loans thanks to proceeds from a book he wrote....(entitled 'The Audacity of HOPE') who's entire life has been devoted to helping the disadvantaged....the poor....sick....the struggling....THIS IS AN ELITIST ?
Hillary, McCain and the entire media should be ashamed of themselves for this weak, pitiful attempt to literally make-up truth. They should be concentrating on REAL facts such as the 109 million the Clintons have made during the last few years...or the 300 mill McCain's wife is worth.....or what about Hillary's secret religion known as 'The Family' which CNN didn't ask a single question about in the so-called religious forum...or what about her election fraud case going on right now in California? Did we mention McCain's wife's stealing of drugs and her rehab stint ? There's so much more....it's pitiful !
The fact is.....Obama is about as elitist as Hillary ducked sniper fire in Bosnia....Stay focused people. They are all (Hillary, McCain and the media) getting more and more desperate everyday. That's a real good sign !

Please show me a person who has lost thier job, home, life savings, and have no insurance who is not bitter. We forget that we have Bush in office who not once but twice stollen it and has been determined to turn this country into a third world county. Explain to me why the US is buying oil at the highest prices possible to put in storage for a rainy day, but refuses to put it into circulations so that it might actually help the americans who he claims to work for. I have a good job, own my own home, and have health insurance and I AM BITTER AS HELL!!!
Where the hell are all the democrates that we voted into office. When the hell are they actually going to earn that paycheck we are giving them.

No matter who you want to win lets be fair. Both candidates did a great job, however, Obama was thrown for the first time for being challenged on things that have been circulating for sometime. Up until last night the press never challenged him. The chickens have come home to roost. Tough questions on issues that have been out there for sometime. However, the coverage has always been tilted to favor Obama. This time both candidates got equal time and coverage. I say hurrah! This is what a debate is about. For those who think the topics discussed weren't germane, I say perhaps, but hasn't that always been the case. Hillary wants to talk politics but she is being asked "why don't people like you" or "what about you husband". The script was flipped last night and they both had to respond to these types of questions.
