The most recognized is Roland Martin, a nationally syndicated columnist and author; Donna Brazile is a Democratic strategist with CNN's election team; Amy Holmes is a conservative strategist and former political speech writer; and Jamal Simmons is a political strategist and media consultant. These TV journalists too often get the most talking time on race and gender issues or most recently "breaking down" the Rev. Wright circus. But that's not always the case. So, is some major prime-time stardom in the future for any of these these fast- talking political know-it-alls? If you don't count Katie Couric, white men host every major Sunday morning talk show, the prime-time cable news programs and the network evening news shows. ...
Black Political Pundits/h2>
Which black political pundit do you like the most?
- Donna Brazile
- Roland Martin
- Amy Holmes
- Jamal Simmons
"Whatever progress has been made with contributors and commentators as of late, the cable networks have a long way to go before they look like the American people," Karl Frisch, the spokesman for liberal television watchdog group Media Matters for America, told the The New York Times earlier this month on a profile that explored the connection race and gender politics being explored by a diverse panel of pundits.
And now Harold Ford Jr., a former congressman from Tennessee, made his MSNBC debut as a political analyst, after leaving Fox News, according to the Times.
Who would you like to see with their own prime-time show?

ABC News did the unspeakable, they were fair and unbiased. Unlike the past 20 debates, whereby all of the questions were centered on Hillary Clinton and her missteps or Bill's, this debate rendered itself to an even playing field. Some in the media say the questions asked of Sen. Barack Obama where out of lined. What do they say about the questions asked of Clinton in all of the previous debates. Fair game? Even if she is detested or despised, I would think all would have he decency to recognize who unfairly she was being treated. Yes perhaps she is the pariah to many, but the treatment she has gotten up until last Wednesday's debate was done right unfair and rude. Even if all want Obama to win, this doesn't negate the fact the race has not been fair. We can question her background and years in the White House for a lifetime, we can also discuss she and Bill's past history, but it doesn't relate any more to the race than the discussions of Obama and Rev. Wright or Bill Ayers or does it?
The liberal media along with the Democratic Party decided after Obama's win in Iowa that he would be the candidate of choice and have not stop since to make certain he is given the crown, even at the expense of taking democracy and trouncing on it and not keeping with its true virtues. Thus making whatever move Clinton make seem corrupt, undemocratic and flat out unbecoming to the party. Obama on the other hand has been given a complete pass, as a result he grows stronger in the polls but without substance or basic understanding of the political scene. He would be wised to welcome the challenges brought on by Clinton as see them as strenghtening mechanisms preparing him for the general election. Instead, he crys foul play and the media and democratic big whigs hover around him not allowing him to grow. This isn't democracy but rather a farce.

I love to see, Roland Martin have his own
"PRIME-TIME SHOW"! He has his own radio-syndicated show and he is on CNN CONTRIBUTER. I Know he would do GOOD and HAVE GREAT RATINGS. It's time, to have black, intelligent, people hosting a their own show. It's been long over due! Roland is always RIGHT ON POINT, IN YOUR FACE, and HAS THE TRUTH! I also, like Jamal Simmons. He is also too, a OBAMA SUPPORTER. He and Roland always supporting not just supporting OBAMA but love to talk about BLACK AMERICA and that is WONDERFUL in my EYES! WE NEED A CHANGE IN TV FORMAT! WE ALL SHOULD SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER TO GET TO WHERE WE NEED TO BE!
I am so sick of FOX NEWS, putting black folks down. That network has nothing good to say about us! I don't care too much about MSNBC. The only network I like is CNN. We should have MORE BLACK NETWORKS on TV! I can't wait until tomorrow , 1 day in counting so that I can cast my vote for OBAMA in the "BURGH"!!! OBAMA maybe 5% behind in polls but anything is POSSIBLE! Even if HILLARY wins, at least he will CLOSE THE GAP in PENNSYLVANIA! I WILL STILL BE SUPPORTING HIM!!!!!!!
EVERYBODY IN THE "BURGH" GET OUT AND SUPPORT "OBAMA"!
"OBAMA 2008"

to rj #1 You alluded to it so I will say it for you The Clintons ARE corrupt. Not only is Hillary as big a liar as Bill, (BOSNIA FOR EXAMPLE) she will do anything to win, even if it means tearing down the democratic party. Can you imagine four to eight more years of the Clintons? I shudder at the thought.I feel they have been very unfair to Barack, using other people's words, actions, and personalities against him. He can no more control what another person says or does than you can. I wish I was in Philly with you MS UNIQUE #2 I would be hanging out at the polls with you casting my vote for SEN. BARACK OBAMA. AND SINCE WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT JESUS I CLAIM THE VICTORY FOR BARACK IN THE MIGHTY POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Nuff Said.........

Because I do attempt to be fully informed, not one of those "emotional Negroes" as the media continues to attempt to define any African American who supports Senator Obama, I decided to watch at least part of the Senator McCain interview by George Stephanopoulis on ABC This Week. It was painful to watch a man who stuttered, sputtered and misspoke in an attempt to control his emotions (aka, temper) unsuccessfully masked behind a really odd smile throughout the interview. He inadvertently said that he would increase the taxes of the general population -- in all fairness, I think he meant decrease, but when you run for the office of president should you be allowed to misspeak on such an important issue? Personally, after listening to him, I find the idea of him as a president of this country kind of scary. But let's put that aside for a second. He went to great lengths in attacking Senator Obama concerning Ayers, in another guilt by association attempt to besmirch him, even though Senator Obama was eight years old when Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground Ayers lives in the same neighborhood as Obama and was on the same board once. I am still not clear as to why Senator Obama is to be held responsible for that. But George Stephanopoulis had done his homework. After McCain's tirade about the purported Obama - Ayers connection, George then asked him to explain how this was any different from Pastor John Hagee, an influential minister who has endorsed McCain and his anti-Catholic comments. McCain has embraced this endorsement, yet we don't see any repeated loops on CNN, NBC, Fox News of these comments and this has been all but buried as a news item. Yet McCain has not distanced himself from this endorsement at all, he hasn't rejected it, his response on ABC This Week was "I don't agree with his comments," followed by a sarcastic "But thanks, for asking." How hypocritical of him. More than that, how hypocritical of the media for not giving this the same level of coverage as given Minster Wright. Wonder why?

One thing this Presidential race has done is expose the racism in public on TV and other media sources. I only watch CNN, and I would love to see Mr. Martin with his own show. His reporting is obviously well researched, clear, and delivered in such a way there are no questions as to what he is saying and why. Hillary Clinton and John McCain are one and the same. They are both building a campaign on Obama. They both are picking on Senator Obama. They remind me of those white folk who refer to people like Senator Obama as "uppity". Hopefully Ms. Holmes will get her own show only when she wakes up to her own reality. Until then I really could care less what she thinks. Ms. Brazile also deserves her own show. She has a proven track record, and can hang in for the long haul. She has what it takes to deliver the message in an honest and forthright fashion, yet without compromise. If Senator McCain has his way, we will be in the middle east with military force forever. That mean a draft, because most of our military are tired, and they want out. They can't say so, but common sense tells us they are tired.

Hey #6 Ester, you left out Jamal. :( I really like call of the black political pundits. I got them in the same order as most people put them...that's a first. I love to watch Roland Martin and Jamal Simmons. It could be because they support my candidate or it could be because I like to black men represented in a decent manner. I like Donna Brazile too. She's done a great job in giving unbiased comments . When I found out she was a Clinton supporter, I started to pay attention to how she commented. She is a very fair and balanced lady. As for Amy Holmes, I like her, but I don't see why she's Republican. I don't understand all the uproar for Republicans. It seems like they believe they are the only one who can have family values and religious affiliations.

Any of the aforementioned would be great with their own talk show, however,I would love to see a Roland Martin/Donna Brazile team in a Prime time slot. Both would compliment each other with their perspective views and brilliance, Donna Brazile would bring in the more mature audiences and Roland Martin would gather in the younger and not so young audiences as he is well known on the radio which the younger(and not so young) listen to! I would love to see this happen.

I disagree with the "Emotional Negro" comment from E. Joyce Moore. I thoroughly enjoy hearing people like Roland Martin, Donna Brazille, Jamal Simmons, and Amy Holmes not only bring an intelligent take on the issues, but to show America that there are Blacks who can talk about issues other than Affirmative Action, or race or gender issues. And let's be honest, while I know of a couple that have openly supported Obama, I am not sure about Brazille. As for Ms. Holmes, from what I have heard, she is supporting McCain.
Anyway, which person would I like to see have their own show. I would like to see someone like Mr. Martin have his own show. I think that he is straightforward, no nonsense, and he will speak his mind, whether you like it or not. I have heard his radio program, through internet streaming, and he is an interesting host.
