Not Guilty on all counts; that's the verdict handed down in the trial of three detectives accused of gunning down unarmed bridegroom Sean Bell in Jamaica, Queens on November 25, 2006.
Today, Judge Arthur Cooperman said while he found the actions of Det. Michael Oliver, Det. Gesnard Isnora and Det. Mark Cooper "careless" he didn't think it rose to the level of making them criminally responsible for Bell's death. His words were more than Bell's Fiancee' Nicole Paultre could take. 
She quickly stood up in the middle of his reading, breaking the silence in the courtroom by saying "I'm outta here." She then hustled into the hallway. Grief stricken Bell's mother began crying softly as the Judge finished talking.
Moments later outside the courthouse in
Kew Gardens,
Queens, President of the Policeman's Benevolent Association Pat Lynch said, "there are no winners," acknowledging that
Bell died that day; a fact he says the officers and the family will have to live with. But Michael Palladino, head of the Detective Endowment Association, made no mention of
Bell.
Rather, he simply praised the judge, calling him a "profile in courage."
Reverend Al Shapton, Bell's fiancee' Nicole Paltre Bell and Bell's family were scheduled to deliver their brief statement following the verdict. However, shocked by the outcome, they chose lead a small peaceful march which began with them shouting "acquittal means fight back." While there has been no indication that violence will follow, it is clear the judge's decision is sending shockwaves through the community.

IT IS A SAD DAY IN NYC AND THE USA ON A WHOLE.IF THE SUPERVISOR ON THE SCENE STATES THAT HE DID NOT HEAR OR SEE ANYONE WITH POLICE SHEILDS OUT OR STATE WHO THEY WERE HOW ARE THESE YOUNG MEN TO KNOW.IF YOU ARE A TRAINED POLICE WHY WOULD YOU LET ME ENTER TH E CAR YHINKING I HAD A WEAPON INSIDE /WOULD YOU NOT STOP ME BEFORE I ENTER THE CAR?AT 4A.M IF I SEE A MAN WITH A GUN ON THE SIDE OF MY CAR IM TRYING TO GET AWAY/IF YOU ARE THE POLICE AND YOU TRY TO STOP MY CAR AND I HAVE COMMITTED NO CRIME AND HAVE NO WEAPON IM GOING TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND ASK WHY ARE YOU STOPPING ME

My heart first of all goes out to the Bell family that has been affected most by this again, injustise on our people. I think that many times we forget that we are in this world and not of this world. Things will continue to keep transpiring and run the continued course of the world we live in. We can discuss what has happened to us and what has continued to happen to us from the day we arrived without our consent, and it will bring even more anger, knowing that these words that we speak are not words thats new to our cause. I conclude that we pray and be vilgient in our prayers for who we lose on a daily basis for any injustice, be it Anerica or the world.

That was not justice for Sean Bell, but justice for the three detectives, but please believe and understand me when I say, " God has the last word" and then justice will be served. May God bless you Nicole and The Bell Family, for my prayers are with you all.

THIS MAKES ME SICK TO MY HEART. I FEEL SAD AND HOPELESS, I THOUGHT WE DID NOT LIVE IN THIS KIND OF WORLD. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE BELL FAMILY. I WISH WE COULD DO MORE IN OTHER STATES, SO NYPD WOULD KNOW THIS HURTS US ALL IN SOME WAY. WHAT KIND OF WORLD ARE WE BRINGING OUR CHILDREN UP IN? ITS OK TO SHOT AN UNARMED MAN???!! Thousands of our bright black and innocent men are in jail with no hope. Their hope of a future has no meaning,as there is always no money to fight cases for which most times they falsely convicted arrested and lives distroyed by those over zealous Cops who are supposed to protect and serve us, quite the opposite BLACKman WALKING TALKING OR DRIVING IS A CRIME what a national disgrace NYC again has broken the record for injustice to Blacks. May God help us "aparthate" is alive in the USA. That Judge will go to hell as he is a hater of Black people.

Purple rain. How stupid a statement can you make. Did you not read the facts abouve that Blacks are creating more crime as a % of the population? So, it goes to reason that police officers are at places where something bad most likley will happen. Soory dude, but not to many killings of each other in white surburbia get togethers. Wake up and clean up your own race.

Lee, if that is how you feel about American then go to Africa and strave. You'll would have no compliant about injustice there, as your own people would enslave you. Go to hell with your comment about America. You and reverend Wright can both go to hell by condemimg America. Find a better place and leave as soon as you can. We white folks know just as well about protecting ourselves, just as you do. Bring on the threats and see what happens. This was some bull **** really. Every time they see a black man driving something nice or as they can say unafordable, they have to **** with them. O they might be drug dealers or gang members. That is the main reason we get stopped anyway. To fire 50 rounds at a unarmed man is just crazy, and being straight up all three of them need to be locked up for the rest of their lifes. I was reading one comment about they fired shots because they were scared. What was they trained for then, tell me that?
