Barack Obama made a trip back to The Late Show with David Letterman, where he delivered surprising facts about himself from Indiana.
Straight up, his first Top Ten of campaign promises was funnier. I don't watch the show, but I'm glad to see Letterman's sort of old-school "ba-dump-dump" comedy still going strong.
Some people say candidates shouldn't do this stuff, these silly cameos. ...
I didn't even really care. That was until the candidates pimped themselves to WWE wrestle-maniacs. After that. No more. Please. I want to vomit.
One not-so surprising fact about Obama from his Top Ten Thursday night -- He has not slept since October! Or is it Baracktober?
Get some sleep B!

I would have to agree with Dr. Watkins, I do not like to wach fox news because of the way they talk about Obama, but I do watch it just to see what hurtful thing he is saying about Obama. I do not like Glen Beck either

Annette (#7), it's not just about Black folks. It's about ALL folks! All Americans. We need this guy, ok? WE NEED OBAMA! Don't loose sight of that! NEVER LOOSE SIGHT OF THAT!
I feel sorry for Bush.....that poor man was just about as qualified to lead this country as a kindergartener is qualified to teach astrophysics to grad students. He's a straw president if I've ever seen one. He's not running the country and he never has. He's a front-man standing in front as a figure-head for those in positions of power that use him as their puppet.
Hear this: There is a smear campaign going on to cause us to loose focus.....perpetuated by the media. We'd built up momentum and now the media is trying their best to build a smoke screen and bring Obama down. Don't be fooled into complacency, people! This is real! They can't find a mistress (More than one in Bills case!), they can't find mis-education or any lies he's told. They can find NOT ONE DOGGONE THING this man has ever done wrong, and don't think they haven't tried like hell!
So, what do they say? They say, he hasn't any experience.....hell, neither did Bush! And, neither does Hillary! Being a First Lady does NOT qualify you to be President. Finding no fault in him, they choose to go after his pastor and accuse Obama of racism since he was married by the man and stayed with the church x-number of years. I hate that Obama has allowed himself to be played this way. By continuing to respond, he's falling into their trap.
Obama, hear this: You cannot satisfy ALL the people ALL the time. Step back, deep breath, regain your focus. Stay the course. No more responding to foolishness. No more! Hillary hasn't even been confronted about her former pastor. Why do you need to defend your position about your former pastor?
Oh! Almost forgot.....for the record, When Bill got caught with his presidential Johnson in Monica Lewinski's mouth and his sperm on her clothes, it was none other than the illustrious Rev. Wright (among others) that was called to the White House for maritial counselling and spiritual advising. Oh, but Hillary hasn't had to denouonce that has she??? Wonder why?
The media is throwing up all sorts of issues and nonsense to cause us to look for fault in Obama where there is none to be found. Why in the hell are we concerned with what Rev. Eright has to say at this point? What does that have to do with Obama? Has anybody mentioned the fact that Clintons former pastor was just sent to prison for inappropriately touching a 7 year old? Has Hillary had to publicly denounce him for any reason?? Heck no! So, why is Barack having to go and disassociate himself from a man that told nothing but the truth?
Nobody can refute what Wright had to say. NOBODY! He didn't say the gov't started AIDS virus.....watch the program in it's entirety, not just sound bites. He said (paraphrased) THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO SO, and the PROPENSITY to do so.....(Think and remember: the Tuskeegee Experiments). Read your history, people. Don't be so quick to jump at the sound of everything you hear.
GO OBAMA! MIND YOUR CAMPAIGN AND DON'T LOOSE FOCUS. THE JACKALS ARE OUT TO GET YOU.

Obama is not the great black hope. He is just another politician vying for votes. His objective is clear, as it should be--win the nomination then the presidency. The fact that he has brown skin is beside the point. His race does not guarantee that he will strongly advocate policies that could improve the lives of people of color. There are clear examples of blacks in high political office or who have power through wealth and personal contacts (e.g., Oprah) that do more to hurt the black community than raise it.
Oprah's commits, for instance, that black inner city youth would rather have sneakers and electronic gadgets supported--whether intended or not--a racist belief that ALL urban youth are unconcerned about education and improving their lives. Her desire to invest millions of dollars on a school in Africa was all that racists needed to defend their position that investing in urban education and other needed social programs for disadvantaged communities is waste of time and resources. For people on the front lines trying to make a difference, this was a set back. People could now defend their indifference toward poor blacks by simply referring to Oprah’s--a black person’s--unwillingness to invest in black communities. Why should they?
Then there is Condoleezza Rice. I was excited when she became secretary of state. That excitement was short lived. Her actions, or lack of, during and after Katrina was sobering. While people--black and brown people--were dying of thirst and starvation, she was on vacation. Do you understand? She refused to cut short her vacation and return to Washington and eventually New Orleans. She was too busy shopping for expensive shoes, attending the opera and playing tennis with Monica Seles. Rod Paige, Colin Powell, Clearance Thomas, the list of black people who had an opportunity to, at least, address important issues concerning the black community is too long to list. The point is that one should not expect Obama to be any different from the others. He is as calculating as Hillary is. What do you expect? They are politicians first. Think about some the most courageous black activists who made a difference in the lives of black people. What did they have in common? They were NOT politicians.
Obama may become one of the most courageous politicians we have ever seen and make a difference in black people’s lives; however, do not think because he is black it is a given that he will correct he policies that have held us back for so long. If Obama is the nominee, I will vote for him, but I have no delusions. I can only hope.

As we have all seen from the Bush Administration President Bush does not set the attitudes toward the citizens of the U.S. or foreign citizens...it is the Vice President - Cheney - and Condelizza Rice, as well as the military who run this country. This is why we need to realise that Barack will not be running the country alone. He will do the best he can as President. One very important matter is: he should not have Hillary as his V.P., as is shown by Bush's V.P., they can take control. Do not think that Obama is the saviour of the Afro-American population, but he is the saviour of ALL Americans, if we stay together as Democrats and vote him in. (I am speaking as a 60 year old White Woman who has never had any intentions of voting for Hillary). A vote for McCain is a vote for four more years of the Bush Administration).
