We will do it on a weekly basis building toward a citywide shutdown. Wednesday is the beginning as we move toward that date which we will announce once we are prepared.
We will submit to an arrest. If you're not going to lock up the guilty in this town, then I guess you're going to have to lock up the innocent.
After the verdicts were announced Sean's father, William Bell, asked:
Is this 1955 Alabama? Somebody has to answer that for me.To get an answer, the protests will kick off with "pray-ins" at six locations across New York City:
- One Police Plaza
- 125th Street and Third Avenue
- Third Avenue and 60th Street
- 34th Street and Park Avenue
- Varick and Houston streets
- House of the Lord Pentecostal Church
All they'll know is why we're going. And we're going because the world must see that we're in a climate where the justice system in this state will lock up folks who'll be nonviolent and pray, but will not lock up police. The spring offensive is modeled after the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The protests will culminate with a major economic boycott and acts of civil disobedience in July. Bell's fiancée, Nicole Paultre Bell, promised:
I will be there and everyone who's willing to support us please come out and we're going to do this peacefully like we always have.No justice. No peace.

I think what those po;icemen did wasn't right, shooting an un-arm person is against the law, it should not matter whether they are white or black.
These policemen belong behind bars for the rest of their lives.
My prayer's are with the mother of this slain child. God Bless you and your's.

All you people do is whine and complain.
Maybe if you wouldn't glorify violent and stereotypes images in hip hop culture you wouldn't be dealing with this issue.
To ask the rest of the world understand and sympathize with the glorification of violence, drug selling, and promiscuity?
You're barking up the wrong tree and will lose until the bitter end.
These officers were trying to protect themselves from someone who was giving off violent vibes.
Don't play with fire if you don't want to get burned.
This is sad and tragic on many levels but the police did the right thing!

The man was shot 50 times without a gun in his hand? Don't they have rubber bullets? Don't they have Tazers? How is it that he can be killed by cops and the cops don't have to pay for miss conduct? I'm a new yorker, Co-Founder of the NYC Guardian Angels. I know Police butality. For no reason they threw us off the train and many times we saved their lives. When Mayor Cotch was in office, he put one foot patrolman ont he beat, and I myself personally saved at least 20 police officers lives. I have also had cops hit me, and throw me off the train while protecting passengers without pay. I think there should have been another way for those cops to arrest that man if they felt he was a threat. They are responsible. Should at the very least been fired. Or heck even suspended. But they where not because they know that if they where, they might have gotten killed with no back up for killing a man without a weapon.
