CNN exit polls show Democrats have not moved beyond race. In North Carolina, African Americans made up one-third of Democratic primary voters. Obama received 91 percent of the black vote to Clinton's seven percent. Sixty-one percent of white voters supported Clinton, 37 percent supported Obama.
In Indiana, Obama received 90 percent of the black vote to Clinton's 10 percent. Sixty percent of white voters supported Clinton, 40 percent backed Obama.
In his victory speech, Obama said:
This has been one of the longest, most closely fought contests in history. And that's partly because we have such a formidable opponent in Senator Hillary Clinton. Tonight, many of the pundits have suggested that this party is inalterably divided – that Senator Clinton's supporters will not support me, and that my supporters will not support her.Meanwhile, Clinton doesn't know the meaning of quit:
Well I'm here tonight to tell you that I don't believe it. Yes, there have been bruised feelings on both sides. Yes, each side desperately wants their candidate to win. But ultimately, this race is not about Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or John McCain. This election is about you – the American people – and whether we will have a president and a party that can lead us toward a brighter future.
Now it is on to West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, and the other states where people are eager to have their voices heard. ...With only six contests remaining, neither candidate will have enough pledged delegates to clinch the nomination when the primary season ends on June 3. So the superdelegates will have to make a Solomonic decision about which candidate is more electable.
And I am running to be the President of all of America - north, south, east and west, and everywhere in between. That's why it is so important that we count the votes of Florida and Michigan.
They will have to consider the racial divide. There's also a bitter divide between Clinton's and Obama's supporters. While 70 percent of Obama supporters say they'd pull the lever for Clinton if she's the nominee, half of Clinton supporters say they would not vote for Obama if he's the nominee.
In the coming weeks, there will be renewed calls for Clinton to drop out. But a new Gallup poll found that 60 percent of Democrats want the Clinton-Obama drama to continue.

Look, Clinton is staying in the race to show she belongs on the ticket. Now, this is about Nov-08, not Obama or Clinton. I still believe they need to be a joint ticket. If Obama is the nominee, he can't win w/o her and vice versa. Do the right thing. Think of the big picture and unite this party by allowing both people of this great civil war to have an opportunity to be the first.

Obama/Clinton may sound good but it will never fly maybe Obama/Biden may be best I dont like the tactics the Clinton camp used to attack Barack during the Primary. It was unwise for her and although it is fine with me that the dem. race continues its the contents of what is in this leg of the race that has me disapproving of Hil and she represents my state as the senator. But I guess she was just being a politician. The goal of the dems are to get the rep. out of office and this part of the race could have damaged the chances, its a good thing McCain doesn't really have a chance because he will not be able to step up to the challenge. The next phase of the race will be really demanding on him. The rep, nomination was a cakewalk but this general election will not be so sweet for McCain unless America turns a blind eye and throws reasoning & logic out the window come November. Hilary for the good of America bow out graciously and do what needs to be done for USA. There is no way without a bunch of turmoil, thoughts of corruption or the very least immoral practices you can win the nomination. It is time to reunite the party. If the polls hold true McCain will win in Nov if you are not the candidate and that should not be the case. With over half of your supporters choosing not to vote for the party's candidate is a travesty. Where is the allegiance to the party. We should be trying to get Bush and his ways out not give up if Hilary doesnt win it. And Hil I think it would be a great time and it may even help you save face if you kinda persuade your supporters from doing that(voting for McCain or not voting at all which is just as bad)to voting for Barack in the Fall. You are an inspiriation Hil and before my last respect for you goes, step up to the plate and do what is right I know you can and I trust you will see the overall picture.

If Obama was bringing up the rear like Hillary is right now the outcry for him to drop out would be heard from sea to shining sea. Howard Dean needs to act like he is the leader of the party and tell her to drop out. And all those so call super delegates need to get off the fence because by June many of us will be sick of the whole process and not care who they vote for. What is happening now is not good for the party.

Obama's speech was different from all of his other speeches. It moved me and made me cry. You could tell, that everything he said was SINCERE and from the HEART! CNN had said, his speech was like a Presidential Speech and he didn't read off of anything. Hillary did. Hillary was the one saying, "Obama couldn't win the BIG STATES", WRONG!
I was really frustrated when the votes came in late for Indiana! It makes you wonder, if those ballots were not counted right? I betcha, that was FIXED! Obama looked refreshed and got his momentum last night! He isn't that far away in winning the Nominee! I wish that Hillary would just GIVE IT UP! If they take to the Convention, the Democratic Party will be broken up and divided!
"WE DON'T WANT THIS TO GO ON TO THE CONVENTION, HILLARY"! Every speech she gives, she tell everyone to go on her web site to donate some $$$$$. She just took out some more money out of her account today. Hillary's saying,is "I'm a fighter" well it is very "Tired" right about now! She needs to drop out, support Obama, and the Democratic Party! We don't have that much time left to get ready for the Election!

All the Black's did with their 'vote' was screw themselves and this country. Black voters are so obsessed with having Senator Obama as their candidate, that they can't see the facts clearly. Obama has not won in the states that a Democratic candidate needs to win (PA, Florida, and OHIO) in order to gain the White House. A vote for Obama, is therefore a vote for McCain.
Obama CLAIMS to be the great "uniter" but in fact, he's done NOTHING BUT DIVIDE the Democratic Party. If were TRULY a uniter, all he had to do was WORK WITH Hillary Clinton, support her candidacy and then HER SUPPORTERS, who just happen to be in all the states that a Democrat needs to carry to win the White House, would have supported HIM in return. INSTEAD HE PITTED HIMSELF AGAINST HER and by doing so has completely divided the Democratic Party. He is young enough to have run in 2016. SHE IS NOT and her supporters, who obviously just happen to be almost HALF of the Democratic Party are not going to forgive him choosing to destroy her chance to be President. She has almost 50% of the entire Democratic Primary vote--this is not Republicans sent over by Rush bone head Limbaugh. USE YOUR HEADS. Hillary would have HAD the African American vote based on her and Bill Clinton's life long efforts on behalf of African Americans. They are part of a generation that took a lot of heat and a lot of hatred and went through a lot of hardship to CHANGE this society from a very racist society to one in which Senator Obama has the opportunity to run. So what does he do? Instead of showing some RESPECT and appreiciation for her efforts to stand up for his rights and black rights--which she has been doing she was 16 years old--he turns around and MAKES HER INTO AN ENEMY by choosing to RUN AGAINST her.
He didn't have to do this and by doing it he's proven that he isn't who he claims to be. Someone who is a uniter, would have never done this. Why should her supporters now support him, given the crappy way he's treated her and them by ruining her opportunity, which because of her age, NEEDS TO BE NOW.
If he had worked WITH HER as the uniter he claims to be, together they could have held the White House for the next 16 years. But he chose to turn her into the enemey and create this division that will DO NOTHING BUT SPLIT THE PARTY FOR DECADES TO COME, and drive millions of
Democrats into the Republican Party.
So congratulations to Obama and all of his supporters. You've just elected
John McCain and in a year when the White House should have been a slam dunk for the Democrats--you've THROWN IT AWAY, ON A VOTE FOR A VERY VERY SELFISH MAN--BARACK OBAMA. If he really cared about ANY OF YOU, he would not have done this.
