In the grand scheme of things, this really isn't that important, but I just gotta talk about it anyway because I want to state my unadulterated support for WNBC (New York) anchor Sue Simmons, despite any criticism she got for saying f*ck on live television.
In fact, I really wish I didn't have to put an asterisk in place of the "u" in f*ck, as I write this because this is a word that so f*cking many of us use every day. Simmons, a veteran broadcaster of nearly three decades should be allowed a pass. After all, she didn't even know she was on live TV, but rather thought she and co-anchor Chuck Scarborough were taping a promo. ...
I'm sure someone, somewhere will have some kind of hang up because they heard Simmons use a word that describes what they were doing (or maybe wish they were doing) last night. They put Janet Jackson through the same thing and to this day, for the life of me, I can't see what the big deal was over a point-5 second glance at her titty.
Oops, I mean t*tty.
Look, sure there's a time and place for everything, and I'm not defending using foul language anywhere (say, in front of little kids or at your grandmother's Thanksgiving table), but living in a society that gets its panties in a knot over the occasional expletive should step back. She must have been having a bad day, but it was on TV? Ok, we may say things that slip out and we don't mean but she is suppose to be a PROFESSIONAL on TV,and should have KNOWN BETTER! And then she had the nerve to say sorry with a fake sincere apology. APOLOGY MY AZZ! OOPS, PLEASE! She should get time off with no pay! And let this be her first WARNING!
