... Mr. Mike Norman, a Marietta, Ga., bar owner who is selling t-shirts with "Obama '08" printed on the front -- along with a cartoon monkey eating a banana.
Norman says he printed and started selling the t-shirts because he thinks Obama looks like the character Curious George. But we all know the real reason, and he thinks he's being funny. Well of course, Mr. Obama Monkey T-Shirt Maker's attracted all kinds of negative attention to himself, and it's well deserved. ...
Anyway, who is he to talk? If you look at him, he looks like one of the albino monkeys from the original "Planet of the Apes."
This probably won't be the last shot taken at Obama as he gets closer to the Democratic Nomination, and the 2008 election.
Besides, Obama doesn't look like Curious George. He really does look like Fred Armisen from "Saturday Night Live."
Obama: Political and Chic
Unlike the promo tees of other candidates, Obama items are very popular. Halle Berry greeted the paparazzi in this sporty shirt to display her support of Barack. (Photo: E.L. Woody King Paparazzi, Splash News)
Artist Van Monroe has created these incredible Obama Sneakers as a custom design. They are a limited edition -- there will only be 50 pairs. (Photo: Van Monroe)
If you love Obama, and you love fashion, these shoes are definitely for you. Change anyone? (Photo: Van Monroe)
Van just sent the original pair to Obama himself on March fifth of this year. Celeb clients for other Van Monroe designs include rapper Slim Thug. (Photo: Van Monroe)
This version of the sneakers are $225 pair. Another version with less detail, "but equal effectiveness" according to Van, go for $125. A portion of the proceeds for the sale of these sneakers will go to the Obama campaign. (Photo: Van Monroe)
Van says: "I have received orders from Los Angeles to the Middle East to Australia" for the shoes. A must for any serious Obama supporter! (Photo: Van Monroe)
If hoodies and tees are key to your fashion sense, the brother-sister team at Barackawear have the looks for you. Lorielle and Brandon Broussard wereinspired to create their line after seeing Obama speak at a rally in Austin. About working with her brother, Lorielle says: "We can always be honest with each other and we most definitely have a lot of the same goals for our company." (Photo: Barackawear,Inc.)
A stylist to Ciara, Lorielle recommends: "Rock your Barack the Vote tee or hoodie at at rally or in a voting booth. ;-) I like to wear mine with my favorite pair of jeans and either some fresh sneakers or some heels, for when I'm out and about." (Photo: Brandon Broussard, Barackawear, Inc.)
Yes We Can -- be stylish and political! Look out for Barackawear baby clothes for the precocious infant. The team also plans to produce a line of denim in the next month. (Photo: Brandon Broussard, Barackawear, Inc.)
This fly gear has been worn by celebrities such as Tyler Perry, Hill Harper and blogger Perez Hilton. Both siblings believe in Barack's leadership and it shows in their brand. (Photo: Brandon Broussard, Barackawear, Inc.)

As I read every ones thoughts and opinion on thes matter I didn't think I would give my own but it seems I just can't help my self. The t-shirt was racist and it would be just dumb to see it any other way, racism is alive and well across this nation and from the looks of it it isn't going any where, as insulting and offensive as this t-sht is, we are not defined by what others think of us or say about us, but by our action or reaction shall we be.

This man is a american citizen and he has the RIGHT to his own opioin no matter what his motive may have been..... just like i, myself who AGREE with the MESSAGE but DISAGREE with with his METHOD which overall reflects his CHARACTER. This is a true reminder that racism still exisit and a reflection of our nation using black americans as an excape goat for worldly problems hundreds of years ago.....still impacting our lives today!!! Yes, we have traveled so many miles but Mr. Mike Norman you manged to SELL the message excatly why OUR JOURNEY IS FAR FROM OVER!!! KEEPIN TEH DREAM ALIVE!!!!!

my question is why even print this as a story. why are you giving this man the noteriety or fame for this crap. That's what keeps racism alive when we give people the forum to get his out then you have everyone going crazy and cursing and screamin causing a lot of chaos. He's wrong and he problaby will pay for it. I wish we could all be around to see that but we won't

Shake it off Black Folks. He's probably just upset because his son is acting Black, while he knows his wife and daughter are lusting over Sen. Barack, each time they see him on TV?
He sees the way they sweat and jitter (with sensuality) during each cameo and soundbite with Obama.

Being a Black Man in America, I am neither angry nor surprised. Everyone has the right to express their opinions however they see fit. It is up to an individual to act or react to someone's opinion. I believe that if a person is ignorant or whatever and I act on their ignorance, it makes me worse than them. Ignorance breeds ignorance. Living life is the longest thing that any of us will ever do. Although, life is too short to worry about the views that others may have of us or their immature antics.
I must say that I am saddened by this person's insensitivity. I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time than to find ways of demoralizing, ridiculing, and hurting others. It's a shame. But like I said, that's his opinion. As far as being racist goes, I can't honestly say that he is. MAYBE he knows that a great may people are racist and he just came up with an idea to profit from it. One never knows. Only GOD has the right to judge him and his actions... I don't!
If I remember correctly, my history teacher (who was a white man and a very nice person) once told my class the difference between being racist and prejudice. Racist means to dislike or hate a person because of their skin color. Prejudice means to pre-judge a person or situation without actually knowing the truth. Skin color cannot be changed, but or way of thinking can be. Speaking for myself, I can honestly say that I have never been a racist. I can also say that I have pre-judged people for things that have been done to me and my ancestors. I can't say that I am right or wrong for feeling the way that I do but I can say this. Like the things that our ancestors did or had done to them in the past (yesterday), effect this world as a whole today. The things that we do today, will have a lasting effect on our children, grandchildren, etc.; in the future (tomorrow). We have choices and I hope and pray we all make the right ones.
Much love, peace, happiness and the utmost respect to all... GOD BLESS!

Dimotas,T,Roger Walker you have seem to made a little name for yourselves. Everytime I come and read something of BV your names always have something negative to say. why don't you go buy the T-shirt and go any near by black ghetto, voice your thoughts there. I sure you will get more than what you ask for. Blacks, hmmm.... should not talk neither much of what we say and do to one another is sad. Next time you say or hear someone say the "N" word to refer to another black person. Now think why whites act and say what they say. An individual in the south decides to make a T-shirt? and poor George is defaced(many of you have read when younger) all the man wanted was attention, you gave it to him!!, now how dumb is that?
