Our friends over at NPR News & Notes say the man in black threw down $889,000 to lease a California high school for his two young children.
Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have been home schooling their brood until now. According to People ...
"We started home-schooling our children probably six years ago," he said. "We found about eight or nine other parents that home-school, so we put them together. ... There's just very powerful educational concepts that we believe in, and we feel like 'I want to design the system that revolutionizes public education.' "

Kudos to Will and jada.They obviously have a vested interest in their kids education.I am not mad at them.Their situation is very different from ours , being that they are both millionaires and they can more than afford to place their kids in private schools or they can buy a school for their kids.Either way those kids are guaranteed a first class education.I say excellent for them.

When we allow public education to reach the point that it has today, we run to an alternative instead of staying and making it right.. What about the children who do not have parents to buy schools for them or home school them, They are left out in the cold. With the fame and fortune that Will, Jada, Oprah, Bull and the others have, why aren't they pushing reform for public education? It is sad to hear of a college coach making millions of dollars while public school teachers make less that $35,000 a year to start out. There is something wrong with that picture. Public class rooms are over crowded, in my state, there is a lack of books. The furniture is in bad shape and most of the schools are outdated. I do not begrudge Will and Jada for wanting better for their kids, but what about the thousand of others poor children here in the U.S. who go to school everyday and get a substandard education? Come on guys let's push for school reform for all
