This week Bill Cosby is auctioning off three of the distinctive sweaters Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable wore on The Cosby Show.

Cosby is selling these instantly recognizable...um...gems to raise money for the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation, bids start at $5,000.

Sure it seems like a lot now (especially since there's been zero bids in the first 24 hours on eBay), but back in the day, everybody who wanted to be anybody had to have at least one Coogi.

This sweater was worn on The Cosby Show by Bill Cosby between seasons 3-8. It will come with a dated and hand signed letter from Mr. Cosby authenticating this. It will also come with a separate letter from the sweater designer, Koos Van Den Akker, indicating that he made this sweater for Bill Cosby for The Cosby Show.

All proceeds from the sale of this legendary Heathcliff Huxtable sweater will benefit the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation. The non-profit educational organization was established in 1997 by the Cosby family to continue the legacy and life's work of Ennis Cosby, who about to begin his doctoral studies in education at the time of his death.

And when Biggie started rocking Coogi? Even the sweaty heat of New York City in August couldn't stop brothers from showing out their technicolors. They just knew they were stylin.' And they weren't the only ones, either.

On weekends, the fair haired executives of Madison and Park Avenues rocked the khakis and the Gucci's with the Coogi. It was a bonafide phenomenon.

Now I don't mean any offense but, to me, those sweaters always looked like fingerpaint on crack.
