I expected to feel some sadness for Hillary Clinton once she wrapped up her campaign. I've worked on political campaigns and it's very, very hard to lose. But after months of a hard fought contest, Clinton will suspend her campaign on Friday.
Mostly I just feel relieved. Sources confirm that Friday night Clinton will wrap things up with a private event for staffers and supporters. But on Saturday, Clinton will publicly concede to Obama and endorse him as the next President of the United States.
The press is calling this a "rally for unity". But can Obama and Clinton unify the Democratic Party while the wounds are still raw?
What will Obama say right now to the hundreds of thousands of Clinton supporters who vow to support John McCain?
What can he say to the elderly white women who leaned in and whispered their lives to her? What can he say to those women who reached out to touch Clinton's face, telling her that she was their dream come true?
And when Obama reminds Clinton's feminist voters that John McCain opposes Roe vs Wade and intends to appoint Supreme Court judges to overturn the decision that makes abortion legal throughout America; will it be enough? And members of the Congressional Black Caucus, who backed Clinton against Obama, feel the need to watch their backs right now.
For them, chickens may indeed come home to roost in the form of new challengers for their formerly secure congressional seats. Will Clinton supporting CBC members collectively step to Obama, hats in hand, to ask for his help in preserving their positions as has been rumored?
As I said, I don't feel sorry for Clinton. But I mostly understand the hurt and disappointment of her supporters. There are some who are just angry and determined to be disruptive. But every "family" has a few of those. Time heals everything, right? I just hope that 5 months until the general election will be long enough.

I would feel sad for her but her and husband said some stuff about Obama that rubbed me the wrong the way, and they started acting like sore losers. I also think her and her husband is hurting the democratic party saying how unfair they treated her, I dont think they treated Obama any better but he took it like a man. She needs to too!!

"THANK GOD HILLARY CONCEDES ON FRIDAY"! What Hillary needs to do is to, ACCEPT THAT SHE LOST, COMMEND OBAMA ON HIS WIN MORE,GET HER CAMPAIN AND SUPPORTERS TO HELP AND SUPPORT OBAMA ALL THE WAY! This is going to take some work but I believe this can be DONE! I believe it will take some time to HEAL but we have to UNITE the DEMOCRATIC PARTY so that we can beat McCain to win the GENERAL ELECTION!

She's been acting like a big brat throughout this process once she learned she had a fight on her hands, what ever you think about Father Phleger. His statements were right on point, she felt entitled and like this presidency was owed her because after all "She's Bills wife" Father Phleger hit the nail on the head. But she also started having temper tantrums especially after Obama won SHE STILL DIDN'T LEAVE! WTF. That's when it seemed like she was jumping up and down saying I want my!, I want my way! It seems like her attitude is "If I can't be president then no one else can, my way or else." This also further validates my opposition of her being VP, she and Bill can't be trusted, I think they'd do something to push him out the way so she can be the president. Hillary, go home, take a vacation cause it's over, we have seen the end of the Clinton era!

GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH.
She is the epitome of the whiney self entitled white female.
She launched the dirtiest primary campaign in our history. She is a despicable person.
I hope she loses her senate seat. Blacks in NY would be a fool to vote for his racist woman.

I do not feel sorry for her either. The best thing that could happen for us right now is to see the Clintons clearly in America's rearview mirror. Their MO was the politics of personal destruction and the chickens have come home to roost.

I was originally a Hillary supporter and believed she had much to offer and was also somewhat entitled to make her bid for the highest public office due to her intellect, commitment and past political strengths. However, during this campaign she became so vicious and irreparably unscrupulous that I have developed a complete aversion to the thought of her holding this office or anything closely associated with it at this time. She may eventually learn her lesson and be capable of true public service again at some future time. I'd give that to anyone. But she has lost her virtue in my opinion now.
Father Pleger's words were nothing but accurate depictions of her actions and revelations. I am opposed to his order for removing him for his insightful expressions and prophetic teachings. I believe he and any minister has a God-given right to express whatever he has truly Godly inspired to receive from the Spirit realm to divulge to Mankind. It is in our power as human beings to accept or reject it, but never to stifle the Visionary. I call for all of like thought to speak out against the injustices perpetrated against this man, as well as against Dr. Wright. As for the latter, it is obvious that Wright's intent was not actually to condemn the country but the actions of the country when it is evil and wrong. Any Instrument of the Almighty should never be prohibited from this type of speech and action as long as it does not produce criminal responses, but only justifiable counteracting reactionary thought and movements.
There still could be an important Cabinet-level place for Hilliary in this Democratic government. But keep her away from the international arena and from any area where she can be counter-productive to the Obama Administration. I still would like very much to see another female serve in the high levels of U.S. government whether it is Hilliary or not, but I would also like for Hilliary to be given another opportunity of some responsible type if she so desires.

I feel Hillary should have been the one elected...for many reasons..not going to mention, but by Barroco winning it will put a top to the blk people thinking the whites are always against them.Obama is not clear that he will be the winner until Nov.People are going to vote for McCai, those 18 millions from Hillary..McCain will be President of the USA

How did Hillary become vicious and irreparably unscrupulous? She being a woman had to jump higher because she is a woman. Wouldn't you do the same as far as show that you are strong and you can hold your own. When did it get to the point where she had to show her sensitive side. Would you ask that of a man that is running for president. everyone is saying that she lost her virtue and no one is saying how? How was she racist? what did she say that was wrong? Everyone has there opinions but not saying what she actually did or said. Everyone plays dirty everyone and you can not think that Obama and Mccain are not going to play dirty as well.
And just because you are a preacher doesn't mean you are right. IF that was the case every religion will be right and we would not have to choose what our denominations are.
Before there was a Barack, A lot of african americans were very excited that there could be a WOMAN President. Hilary has been attacked from hair to her facial expressions, to even being joked about on greeting cards,John McCain even joked that she'd had sex with Janet Reno to produce Chelsea. But people have remained silent.
It's never okay to be racist in our world, but, unfortunately, it's still 'normal' to be sexist. Some people will argue blacks had it worst then woman, yes this is so very true, but why again I ask what are the real reasons why you say she had the dirtiest campaign? Over the course of history I can name other campaigns that were racist all over in compares to her. Both candidates did a damn good job and I think that she deserves credit for how far she came.
