First off, it's impossible to look cool wearing a bicycle helmet. Bike helmets just look dorky no matter what. I don't care if you paint flames on it.
Put Denzel Washington or Will Smith in a bicycle helmet and they would look like "Dumb and Dumber." But one BlackVoices user got to the heart of the matter, which has nothing to do with style.
"If McCain gets elected we'll ALL be riding bikes because we won't be able to afford gas." ...
Barack the Biker

Newsweek's Andrew Romano argues that the "bike moment" will be a plus for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee because it "makes him look like a normal, nerdy American dad."

Obviously, Obama was thinking safety first (helmet) and wardrobe second. Pictures show him wearing poor fitting bluejeans while sporting a perfectly tucked in polo on his afternoon ride.

Let's give Obama a break for not pulling off his bike ride looking like Lance Armstrong. Maybe he'd look better on a motorcycle.

It reminds me of how fixated Americans were on Bill Clinton more than a decade ago when he stopped at McDonalds or went for a jog around the White House. Wow, a president who runs! Now a man who bikes, plays basketball and goes bowling (for votes).
Barack is normal! We made this point last week, when everyone went "dap crazy" over Obama pounding his wife's fist to celebrate his presumptive Democratic nomination.
It's nice to see a dad out biking with his daughters (no seen in any of the pictures). Newsweek's Andrew Romano argues that the "bike moment" will be a plus for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee because it "makes him look like a normal, nerdy American dad."

Well said Mr. DaCork. Yes, it appears that Ms Ratliff was making fun of your slight difficulty in writing, but cheer up, your response to her unkind remarks was both appropriate and Christian. I think it's obvious to all that you have some very good points to make despite your lack of formal schooling.
Don't be concerned about the negativism of others you may encounter on these blogs, just keep on being yourself and give us the benefit of your commentary.

Dr. Maxwell,
Dacork has plenty of sense. Decork can write and speak perfect english. He Appears on every site and we joke with each other, it's personal joking between us. I would never disrespect anyone. I do realize how awlful I must sound to readers outside of our jokiing. I do apologize to all posters.
Sincerly,
Rozlyn Ratliff..

The gas tax holiday IS a gimmick, just as Barack said. Who thinks gas stations, which BTW are getting squeezed by Big Oil, are going to suddenly lower their prices ? ! ? You can sure as bet the Oil Companies won't lower their prices to stations -- That's for sure. But I will go along with it the day before and the day of the Presidential Election to help make sure people can afford to get out and vote !
That, and make sure ahead of time that there are enough bike stands at your local voting location -- It's going to be busy !
And if you like, please feel free to visit our little personal project in support of Barack . . . www.VotingforBarack.com. (Sorry for the gratuitous promotion.)
