Try as I might, there is no escaping the presidential campaign. I attended some film screenings at the Afro-Punk Festival over the weekend. The 1968 film "Up Tight!" is a story of revolution and betrayal set in the immediate aftermath of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Its stars include Raymond St. Jacques, Roscoe Lee Brown, Max Julien, Juanita Moore and Ruby Dee.
During the Q&A following the screening, Ms. Dee noted that they were wrapping up filming when Dr. King was assassinated. The director, Jules Dassin, packed up the crew and went to Atlanta for King's funeral.
The film includes powerful footage from that day. ...
"Up Tight!" had a limited release in the United States because Paramount Pictures, its distributor, got cold feet. In response to a question about the film's title, Ms. Dee said:
With the assassination of Dr. King, it was an uptight time...Being black in the U.S.A. is an uptight situation. If you're going to survive, you have to loosen up.The screenwriters' liberal use of "whitey" brought to mind the rumor that Michelle Obama was caught on tape using that racial slur. The smear has since been debunked by the Obama campaign. The rumor was spread by someone outside the black community because black folks haven't used the word "whitey" since we were Negroes.
Still, the attacks on Michelle are unrelenting. As the Washington Times reported:
Even as Mrs. Obama appeared on ABC's "The View" in an effort to "soften" her image, one trio of black women launched a Web site, MichelleObamawatch.com, to monitor the coverage of the woman already disparaged as a "Baby Mama," a racist and an unpatriotic radical.Gina McCauley, founder of MichelleObamawatch.com, said the blog is "a repository of all of the criticism, praise, and general chicanery thrown at Michelle Obama between now and November." For the comment of #15. I must say I agree with you totally. This is a Dog E. Dog world. They don't intentionally mean to, they just can't help it. It is evil naturistic. The only place and the best place we have to turn is to GOD. Let us be ready and meet him people!

Long story short.... Michelle and Sen. Obama have White folk scared shi*less! They can't understand how a Black man and his woman can charm so many people, when they're supposed to be "ignorant" and "ghetto", and all the other rediculous stereotypes Whites love to perpetuate. They can't with the Obamas', and it's killing them!.....God, I Love It!!!!!

All these trash bags that are attempting to disparage Michelle Obama, are resigned to the fact they can't find a blemish on Barack, so like the low life scum they are - they instead attack his woman. Everything she has said is the truth, and they HATE IT - they can't dispute it - they can't deny it - and they can'tstand being reminded how racist and murderous they are.This country has NEVER given Black people a damn thing to be proud of - We had to fight and DIE for the right to eat a damn sandwich at a lunch counter!! Just to be seen as humans, we had to first be bitten by dogs, and hosed with high pressure water cannons, and beaten with batons in the very streets our taxes payed for! We watched our people swing from trees and light poles for Whites' "entertainment"! We've NEVER had real justice on our side, but we're supposed to be "proud"?? Of what??!! The legacy of brutality and hatred this "Great Nation" blessed us with?? Please!!! You go Michelle - Keep that beautiful head high, and march your fine self right on into the White House!!! They may hate you - but they damn sure can't stop you. Evil men have absolutely NO POWER over what has been ordained, and planned by God. He will always have the final say.

White folks' worst nightmares, are coming true, and they are about to go nucking futs!!They're watching "The Browning of America" because of immigration, and now they're faced with the real possibility of an intelligent, educated, articulate, and charismatic Black man being elected president.What a double whammy (LOL!)The writing is on the wall, and the clock is ticking signaling the end of their "reign" as the majority in this country.I almost feel sorry for them........NOT ! ! !
