John McCain accused Obama of playing the race card when he said "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." McCain told CNN's John King:
I'm sorry to say that it is. It's legitimate. And there's no place in this campaign for that. There's no place for it and we shouldn't be doing it.McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, likewise said:
Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It's divisive, negative, shameful and wrong.Sadly, the promised "respectful campaign" is now stuck on race. As the New York Times noted:
The McCain campaign's accusation that Senator Barack Obama is "playing the race card" brings the race issue out in the open while allowing the McCain team to say it has not made the first move - a strategy we saw to some degree in the Democratic primaries.
Whether that works or not, this will mark the day that race officially became an issue in the 2008 general election.
McCain's ad linking Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton also tapped into racial fears.
Sure, McCain is using Obama's celebrity status against him and mocking his alleged "fame without portfolio." But by linking Obama with young white women, albeit celebutards, the ad subliminally evokes racial stereotypes of black men lusting after white women.
McCain is scheduled to give a keynote address today at the National Urban League's annual conference. It will be interesting to see whether he tells a ballroom full of black folks that he's "proud of that commercial" comparing Obama to two skanks.

Obama is merely another oily politician, just like JFK or Clinton, consumed with personal ambition and seeking after his own glory.
If he starts to slip in the polls, he'll use any dirty trick that he can think of. He's only taken the "high road" so far because the reverse-racist media had made him the star who supposedly owned the candidacy. So far, that was enough.
If McCain stops being such a weenie, he can really tear apart Obama's empty hot-air balloon.

Obama's unofficial slogan has always been, "Vote For Me Just Because I'm Black". Nobody was more surprised than Obama himself that it worked so well.
Like any typical reverse-racist, he lyingly accuses anybody who opposes him of "racism". That will happen more and more as the election nears. There is no worse or more brainless bigotry than reverse-racism. Anybody who reads these boards can instantly see that.

McCain and his staff are trying tio make Barrack say something that will hurt him. I hope Barrack will ignore his comments and keepm moving. Mccain is the devil advocate,so old and confusr he cannot think straight or does speech writers. What ever they do they do or say they cannot stop Barrack. This election shows how predject America is and why the blacks are still poor. Whitie will give every race a chance and embrace them, but blacks.

how very sad that the McCain camp is grabbing at straws; the fact that race is an issue is obvious in the virulent level of negative comments shown above..

McCAIN IS A DESPERATE, MUD SLINGER WHO KNOWS THE MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR CHANGE FROM THE TYPICAL BUSH TYPES, WHITE MALE, OLD FOLGY'S OF THE PAST. IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE NOT ONLY FROM THE NORM, BUT EVEN IN THE COLOR OF THE SKIN OR GENDER. AMERICA WANTS SOMETHING NEW AND HONEST. OBAMA IS WHAT AMERICA IS LOOKING FOR, HE IS DIFFERENT, OFFERS HONESTY AND CHANGE THAT MOST AMERICANS ARE LOOKING FOR. McCAIN IS FINDING EVERY UNDERHANDED WAY TO DISCREDIT OBAMA, BUT IT SO FAR HAS ONLY BACK FIRED. HE BLAMES OBAMA FOR GAS PRICES AND THEN PUTS TWO WHITE DRUGGY "SKANKS" " CELEBERTIES ON TO PLAYER HATE OBAMA'S POPULARITY. ALL PRESIDENTS AND PRESIDENTAL CADIDATES ARE CELEBERTIES THESE DAYS. NOW HIS MOST LOW PLOY IS TO PLAY THE RACE CARD. I ONLY HOPE OBAMA KEEPS ON BEING THE BIGGER MAN, AND DOESN'T LET THIS NEW PLOY GET FULED, BY DIGNIFING IT WITH A RESPONSE. OBAMA HAS ALWAYS KEPT IT REAL AND HONEST. HE WAS BEING HONEST WHEN HE SAID HIS FACE IS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PRESIDENTS ON THE MONEY... McCAIN ONLY WANTS OBAMA TO SAY SOMETHING THAT HE CAN RUN WITH. I HOPE OBAMA KNOWS THIS IS JUST ANOTHER DESPERATE ACT AND THAT ALL COMMENTS DON'T DESERVE A RESPONSE LIKE THIS NEW DIRT McCAIN IS SLINGING.

Sen. Barack Obama's chief strategist conceded that the Democratic presidential candidate was referring to his race when he said Republicans were trying to scare voters by suggesting Obama "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." You pulled the race card to soon Obama!

I amsoooo tired of Mccain and the dirty politics he is playing. Barack Obama has been examined until it has become silly. The only reason the McCain group acussed Obama of playing the race card is because it was in the back of their minds in the first place. Sometimes what you're thinking finds it's way out into the open.

#1,2, & 3...people like you make absolutely no sense to me. When are people going to just be honest and realize the last two terms of presidency have been complete FAILURES. Failures. And let's not get sidetracked with political B.S. Because throughout this campaign, both parties will say and do what they need to do to win. BUT, that still doesn't negate the fact that BARACK OBAMA IS A MUCH BETTER CHOICE!!! Barrack is at least giving you practical solutions to our problems. McCain is running ads comparing Barrack to Paris Hilton. It's that simple. It's that (pun intended) black and white. With all the problems we have, he spent money on an ad like that. Really?!
And this whole 'race card' thing is B.S. It's no secret that he's black and we've never had a black president before. You act like the man lied when he said he doesn't look like any of the other presidents. It's true. How's that's reverse racism?? Bottom line, If you vote for McCain, you'd be dumber than the people who voted for Bush...the SECOND time.
The Bush administration did a helluva job installing fear into the hearts of Americans. But don't be so scared of change.

Well,Barack Obama and John McCain have made recent statements on US offshore oil drilling while on the US presidential campaign trail. Well, Offshore Drilling is a huge issue right now and rightly so. Between the
desire to deal with the economic mess that is being spurred by the price
of oil and the on-going longer-term concern of global warming, how do we
address all of this? Furthermore, GOP base is not even warming up to mccain (of course, i could be wrong) and even though it's still early in the game, this just proves to show how we see our candidates to-date. i know i will get burned for this, but i think mccain is a warmonger. i get the impression that he doesn't care to what happens to our troops in the middle east and the other parts of the world. Can’t we just all get along? i think it is time for a purification; i think it is time for a change; i think it is time for obama time. Now that the candidates are set for the US Presidential Election, Barack Obama and John McCain are beginning to set the tone for their campaign in http://clashorama.com/index.php?id=164

No-Bama is just another slick Socialist. He has no idea how the real economy works. Complaining about Oil companies and promising people $500 paid for by Taxing the oil companies more is just a Robin Hood scam. Oil profit margins are less than many industries. The total dollars are huge because the amount of total sales is huge. Tax oil more and it will just be passed on and cost more. He may be School smart but he is a dumb ass.
