Tyra As First Lady? Keep Your Day Job

Harper's BazaarYes We Can! Oh, no ... she didn't.

Supermodel-turned-daytime-TV-diva Tyra Banks poses as Michelle Obama in the new issue of 'Harper's Bazaar.'

OK. This is just dumb. First she wants to be Oprah, now she wants to be first lady.

But Harper's takes dumb to the next level with Tyra in MULTIPLE oval office pics next to a young Barack Obama model.

The magazine's photo series, which includes a scene in the Lincoln Bedroom, can be seen here. Weird. Just weird.

Tyra considers the photo shoot an homage to Michelle, not an insult. She called the process "surreal."

I'll give Tyra Banks this, she's looking really good doing whatever it is she's doin'! ...

Oh and like we didn't notice the wink to the famous JFK photo. Cute, but kinda weird too.

The photo shoot, while artsy and elegant, is a strange move for a celebrity whose support of Obama has not been cemented. It neither helps nor hurts Barack. All it does is call attention to Tyra. And we all know she loves that.

"It's kind of embarrassing," (she can say that again) "but in my early 20s, I used to want to be a princess. But I didn't want to have to marry somebody in order to do it! Of course, I don't see the position of first lady as a princess, where it's something you have to marry into. With Barack Obama, his becoming president is them becoming president because Michelle was there from the beginning. Without Michelle, he wouldn't be there."

Or, as she pronounces to her Tyra Banks Show camera after her Oval Office portrait, "Michelle Obama, you're one hot mama."
