You know it is past time to leave the stage when the Moonie-owned Washington Times says shame on you. The conservative newspaper recently editorialized:Bill and Hillary Clinton are undermining Barack Obama by fanning the flames of division within the Democratic Party rather than being advocates for unity. This is evident in Bill Clinton's Aug. 4 ABC interview in which he brought unwarranted attention to the racial issues that were raised during the Democratic primary and caucuses. Simultaneously, Hillary Clinton has been negotiating her role at the Democratic convention: She declared at a California fundraiser that it would be a "catharsis" for her supporters to have an open vote on the convention floor. Having dominated the Democratic Party for many years, the Clintons are behaving badly - as if the Blue Team is the Clinton Party instead of the Democratic Party.
Though it is Obama's convention, the Clintons want to party like it's 1999 – and a family affair. Chelsea reportedly will introduce her mother who will headline the second night of the convention. Tuesday, Aug. 26 is also the 88th anniversary of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
The press release announcing Clinton's primetime star turn describes her as "a champion for working families and one of the most effective and empathetic voices in the country today."
Black Voices reader Ann Jones asked:
Why do the pundits not see that it is insulting to insinuate that Obama cannot advance politically unless he has the Clintons (Bill and Hill) no matter what they do or say about him ("veiled" or openly)? Why? It's a political maxim to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. President Lyndon B. Johnson famously observed, "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent

I pray Hillary do the right thing for the Party. I never throught of her being a sore losser, I thought she was a real team player. If she and President Clinton throw a monkey rench in the ring at time like this;they will dissapoint a lot of people, and loss the respect of a lot of people.

I am so tired of the Clinton's they are showing us what the GOP was saying about them all these years.
They are deliberately trying to upstage Obama, and it is unacceptable. They are a pathetic family. I will never cast my vote for a Clinton again, ever in life, not even if Chelsea ever ran for office. NO MORE CLINTON'S IN AMERICAN POLITICS!

I am not understanding why the Clintons would have two
prime time days Taking up two days of a four day
convention They could have put both on same day, one
before lunch and one after lunch.I realize the importance of them and their Legacy. One day should have been sufficient.

I am not understanding why the Clintons should have two prime time days of the convention. They should have had one day only. One to speak before lunch and one after lunch. They have not held up to their promise to unite the party. Maybe this is their way,
The uniting of the Democratic party should be the upmost importance of all involved. I do understand the importacne of them and their legecy, but one day
should be sufficient. Concerned voter for 2008

Enough already! I have lost all repsect for the Clintons. What is so strange is that they have chosen to behave this way against Obama when he in reality was very civil and gracious to them. He could have used options to attack truthfully Hillary when she lied about her dodging bullets in Iraq, but he deckubed. He could have talked about her spousetruthfully and his many sordid affairs but he didn't. Even after the many vicious attacks the Clintons orchestrated either direct or indirectly, after the dust settled, Senator Obama assisted in helping to pay part of Hillary's campaign debt. I doubt seriously if she would have done the same for Obama. The Clintons need to use whatever self-respect they have to step aside and allow Senator Obama the same courtesy they themselves would expect if the shoe was on the other foot. Hillary and Bill sound like the people that Father Flager described. Can the Clintons stand to hear the truth about themselves, I don't think so. Never will I vote for a Clinton again.

I thought I would never say this but I have to agree with the other 2 posters in that i will not be voting for any Clinton in the future of politics. Although I still have some respect for Bill, Hillary gets no respect from me. She should have been the model woman of strength in politics but instead she chooses to act like a child. SMH @ her behavior.

First Hillary gets on the ticket as Obama's VP. Then Obama gets elected president. Then the Clintons get their Democrat friends in congress to impeach Obama making Hillary president. Never underestimate the power of the Clintons.

I agree. Hillary needs to be close, but with a short lease and little power to initiate her change.
Please watch her Obama

I have stated over and over again that the Clintons were NOT going to let this thing(presidential race) be over without a fight!!! A historical review of the Clintons will show that every move they have made since meeting each other in college was all about power and the presidency. Bill got his, now it was her turn, and both of them believe with every fiber of their being that Hillary had a "right" to be president. And how dare anybody, especially a Black man, dash her dreams. Some people can have a fair fight and let it go. The Clintons are NOT like that!!! They have now gone on to phase #2 of their plan. Sabbatage Obama and let McCain win in November. He enters the white house at age 72, serve one term(leaving the country worse than Bush),and enter Hillary Clinton in 2012. With Obamas lost, she leaves the unspoken message of "I told you so, he couldn't win but I could have". Between now and 2012 the Clintons will 'pretend' to repair any hurt feeling of Black people by taking trips to Africa and addressing causes near and dear to Blacks. This game will lead her to her dream of the presidency of these United States!!!
