That email purportedly "proved" that Barack Obama is the anti-Christ. Now it's hard to believe that in the 21st century, a stupid, fact lacking, anonymously spread internet rumor would impact a person's opinion of a presidential candidate - but it has.
In fact the Obama as anti-Christ foolishness has gathered so much steam that it looks like none other than the McCain campaign has picked up the idea and is running with it. And now the likes of CNN and 'Time' are actually addressing this nonsense. ... Here's the video:
And lest you think this is some cockamamie accusation coming from the left wing of the political spectrum, it was the folks over at Christian Newswire who first addressed the problem:
John McCain's campaign ad "The One" has generated a lot of buzz regarding the "Left Behind Series." Political commentators are comparing McCain's portrayal of competitor Barack Obama with the blockbuster apocalyptic series' depiction of the antichrist. But even the series authors Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins don't think Obama is the antichrist. What may have been created as a farce has generated a firestorm of controversy on the internet.
LaHaye and Jenkins take a literal interpretation of prophecies found in the Book of Revelation. They believe the antichrist will surface on the world stage at some point, but neither see Obama in that role. "I've gotten a lot of questions the last few weeks asking if Obama is the antichrist," says novelist Jenkins. "I tell everyone that I don't think the antichrist will come out of politics, especially American politics."
Is that clear enough? Once and for all Barack Obama is NOT THE anti-Christ. Whew. I'm glad we cleared that up. Now please go and tell CNN and Newsweek what you already now know.

If you want to talk about the Anti-Christ look no futher than the Bush Family, the Bush Family is a great place to start. Bush senior former CIA man, has been killing people abroad for many years, and than we he took office more killing and clandestine missions, of hate and destruction. George W.Bush his son has since taken over, and him and Cheney have done more killing, more lying, more cheating, more law breaking,more devastion,and more corruption,more under handedness of the american values and we now have more conflicts, more hate, more evil, worldwide, than at any other time in the history of our Great Nation, our presence in the world is seen as evil, our economy is in the toilet, gas is high, food is high, moral is low, so who is the Anti-Christ??
All this mayhem has happened on the Bush's Watch...Can we ever put AMERICA back together again?? Deal with it people its right in front of FACE, open your eyes and look at the FACTS...The Anti-Christ's are in POWER NOW!!! and have been for the last 8years+. Run tell that!!!

I agree with all that you say except that what is going on and has been going on is not necessarily because of "the anti-Christ" but because God said in Revelations that things would get worse instead of better the closer it gets to the "end" and that the antii-Christ would come. However, the anti-Christ doesn't come and then go. He comes and stays until Christ comes back. So much more devastation will go on when that time comes, but I do agree that a lot of horrible things have happened during both Bush reign and would McCain wanted to continue it and would have. It was the grace of God that we received an chance to collect ourselves and still turn to him through the entrance of the Obama Administration. He gave us another chance to turn to him while Obama is in office and to change our ways. While the real "anti-Christ will come and in the disguise of being a "good" guy; the rest of the signs that will usher him in has not come to past yet. Believe me though we won't have to guess about him--we will know! And, OBAMA IS NOT IT!!!!

Thanks Carmen for info. I had no idea this was going on and I have not seen an ad from McCain titled "The One". However, I am a ministers kid (a PK) with a ancestors that were also ministers and six of my brothers as ministers. So let me assure you that the time according to the Bible has not come yet for the Anti-Christ to be born yet much less to be old enough to run for President of the United States. So many other parts of the prophecy has yet to happen before any of that is to happen. So let me assure you that Obama IS NOT THE ONE! However he is definitely the one to become President with the energy and momentum his candidacy has taken off. He came from no identity to overwhelming notoritety.

McCain can't win on his own merits. His only hope is to try to make Obama seem scary. The Anti-Christ won't need to be voted in. This person will use its evil powers to take over. If Obama were the Anti-Christ he wouldn't have to work so hard to win. People will flock to the Anti-Christ because he will show great powers. People will think he can fix everything that is wrong with the world. It won't be just half of the World it will be most of the world. I don't see that many people thinking a Black man is the answer to all of the worlds troubles.

Carmen, do you know what the Bible says about the Anti-Christ????????????? The Spirit of the Anti-Christ has been operating since, at the very least, Paul referred to it in Biblical early church times. You have no clue, dear. The whole platform of the Anti-Christ was set forth in the Old and New Testaments and is not subject to your political convictions. If the shoe fits, wear it. If Obama wants to run on his platform and unify every and anything all in the name of God and Christian love, then he will have to wear the shoes. I don't believe he is the Anti-Christ himself, because of other Biblical truths. However, he definitely operates in that Spirit. Period, point blank.
