In an interview on National Public Radio's "Tell Me More," Dean said:
If you look at folks of color, even women, they're more successful in the Democratic Party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, than in the Republican Party because we just give more opportunity to folks who are hard-working people who are immigrants and come from members of minority groups.
Back in the 1920s or '30s, blacks Negroes started to use a derogatory term, ofay, to refer to white people.
Also around that time, black folks began to leave the Republican Party in the wake of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's promise of a New Deal. There was a mass exodus from the GOP in 1964 when Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater threatened to veto civil rights legislation if he were elected President.
Forty-four years later, black Republicans are as scarce as hen's teeth. Still, the Republican National Committee quickly pounced:
Howard Dean's comments on race and gender today are disappointing and wrong. His efforts to divide Americans are an insult to all our nation's citizens and have absolutely no place in the national dialogue. The McCain camp also jumped on Dean. Carly Fiorina, chairman of Victory '08, said Dean's remark was "insulting, inappropriate, and have no place in this election."
When the Republican convention convenes in Minneapolis-Saint Paul next month for its quadrennial illusion of inclusion, you will likely hear leading black Republicans – all five of them – accuse Dean of "playing the race card."
They will reflexively note that President George W. Bush has placed more black faces in high places than President Clinton. That is a dubious achievement given those black faces include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the so-called Russia "expert," who clearly did not have Georgia on her mind.

eh and to Tired of poor me attitude
...
if you don't believe racism exists, you are a huge part OF racism. Of course anyone with intelligence can see we are all equal, but anyone with intelligence can also see that racism is very much alive. Your comment that "nobody cares about color" shows how ignorant you are. Either that, or you grew up in a very sheltered, brain washing, white washed world.

OK guys let the insults go. We all have the issue of racism in our minds and in our hearts, we have to overcome and get back to the real issues, we also need to stop telling each other who to bote for and even who not to vote for it is just like in the Constitution we can not delegate what party to vote for just like what God we serve. Can we just grow up listen and try to understand what is going on in our government.

CATCH-22:
If Obama wins libs will say how wonderful and smart the American public is; that it is a rejection of Republicanism, conservativism, and, what had come to be known as "the American way."
If Obama does not win these same people will say that the majority of Americans are racist, that the majority of the electorate is ignorant, and that the election was rigged--probably by Bush--who has been blamed for every bad thing that has happened since the founding of this country.

Miss Makaveli,
As a business owner and the one who is responsible for hiring and as one of those EVIL Republicans and a "White Voice" Betty #26 is complaining about. I don't know a single person, much less a business owner that gives a damn what Color someone is when it comes to Job opportunities. If you have talent and a work ethic you will have a job. From what I see here on a daily basis proves to me that Blacks are more racist than the white people I know. I don't deny that there are white racists but I don't know any. There are IDIOTS everywhere that look at what race someone is first. If everyone was a taxpayer, taxes would be lower for everyone. Can anyone argue that?
It is EASY to say everyone White/Republican sucks, that way you don't have to defend your position with facts. My Grandfather was a Democrat, I wouldn't dream of saying all democrats are idiots.

America is becoming a divided country, you have the have's and the have not's. If you look back in history any time a government forgets about it's poor that country usally goes to hell in a hand basket. It happen in France, twice in Russia, Cuba and I could go on but I want. Mark my words the revoultion will be televised in November. What side will you be on!!!
