The reviews are in: John McCain won the non-debate at Pastor Rick Warren's Saddleback Civil Forum. McCain was "on his game." While Barack Obama was "thoughtful," the consensus is that he failed to connect with white evangelicals.Obama's backers find it hard to accept that their man, whom House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time," was eclipsed by old-man McCain. So, some have accused McCain of cheating and breaching the "cone of silence."
The cheating allegation gained traction after NBC chief correspondent Andrea Mitchell opined on "Meet the Press":
The Obama people must feel that he didn't do quite as well as they might have wanted to in that context, because what they're putting out privately is that McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama. He seemed so well-prepared.McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, called out Mitchell. He fired off a letter to NBC News President Steve Capus requesting a meeting to discuss their concerns about media bias:
We are extremely disappointed to see that the level of objectivity at NBC News has fallen so low that reporters are now giving voice to unsubstantiated, partisan claims in order to undercut John McCain...McCain's account was corroborated by Pastor Warren who told Fox News' Sean Hannity:
This is irresponsible journalism and sadly, indicative of the level of objectivity we have witnessed at NBC News this election cycle. Instead of examining the Obama campaign's spin for truth before reporting it to more than 3 million NBC News viewers, Andrea Mitchell simply passed along Obama campaign conspiracy theories. The fact is that during Senator Obama's segment at Saddleback last night, Senator McCain was in a motorcade to the event and then held in a green room with no broadcast feed. In the forum, John McCain clearly demonstrated to the American people that he is prepared to be our next President.
It's a totally bogus issue. It's challenging the integrity of the Secret Service, my security and John McCain...There's no way John McCain could have heard the questions.Score one for the "wrinkly white-haired guy."

For 25. Wendy...I'm not sure why you keep referring to that one and only one video in all your posts. Especially when it comes from a liberal biased conspiracy theory website. Get some real facts for a change and quit crying like your “chosen one” does. Obama got spanked and you know it. This is just a sign of things to come. Get used to it.

You seem to be unsure about a lot of things, apparently. Perhaps I refer to the video because its John McCain at his best. And if the discussion in the video is confirmed by the reporters who interviewed McCain--reporters from CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC--your claims that the video comes from a “liberal biased conspiracy theory website” doesn’t make the video UNTRUTHFUL. The video only CONFIRMS that the man is a liar.
Take note, McCain told the world that he didn't have a clue about economics, and proved that when he said that he would lower taxes and increase spending. This is impossible. Obama was honest about the situation. He said in order to increase spending we must raise taxes. He's right!
Oh, and McCain's story about the guard drawing a cross in the sand . . . stolen from a Solzhetnitsin memoir. So all of your childish “spank” stuff, and calling Obama names like “Messiah,” “NObama” and “Chosen One,” doesn’t impress me in the least. It only show your immaturity and your inability to hold a descent conversation.

Obama looked like a fool. Where is the great speaker I've been hearing about? He couldn't answer the simplist of questions. Maybe McCain can find him a cabinet position somewhere. LOL

For 29. Wendy, if everything you believe is in that one biased video clip that you keep posting over and over in this forum as well as other forums, then I truly feel sorry for you. Maybe you should explore different media outlets other than your one conspiracy website you hold in the highest regard. Please educate yourself. We wouldn’t want you to look foolish now. Then again you may be afraid of the real truth. By the way, in todays headlines, Obama’s rating are at an all time low and getting worse. McCain is passing Obama in the polls. Have a great day!

Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself, and others like you.
(I will not throw all white people into the same category because that would be wrong. There are many white people who are honorable, and many who will standup for fairness and truth. Every person is different and no one person is alike; however, there are a few who fit into my comments below. You know who you are. This is for you).
Some people are willfully ignorant. Let's face it, a lot of racism is at play here. Several people are seeking any excuse not to vote for a person of color; whether the person is qualified will makes no difference. First, Obama is accused of being Muslim. Then he's accused of being a member of a racist Christian church (a member of Rev. Wright’s assembly). What is so silly about that particular accusation is, MUSLIMS DON'T JOIN CHRISTIAN CHURCHES, HATEMONGERING OR OTHERWISE. But some white people need to feel JUSTIFIED for spewing their ugly allegations. It works for their conscience.
Meanwhile, people are saying that Obama is "inexperienced," yet they never say what specific experiences are needed to obtain such a position as Commander-in-Chief. Are experiences different from requirements? The requirements are: a natural born American citizen, and thirty-five years of age. I suspect some white people believe Obama is not intelligent enough, but they won’t orally state that. No, that lie would be too easily disputed; he graduated Harvard and was schooled in constitutional law. So they must use a smoke screen so not to appear as card-carrying Klan members. Call him an "elitist". It sounds less abrasive. When in actually they want to say, “I dare Obama consider his education a factor, and be proud of his achievements!” What they really want to say is, "Obama is too uppity for the rural white people--too eager to rise above the ‘station’ set for his life-- he shouldn't aspire to claim a position that is reserved for old, educated, white men."
Now for the Hillary supporters. . . For those who will vote for McCain because you’re bitter. Well, you aren't a TRUE Democrat. After all, Obama and Hillary pretty much agree on the same issues, with the exception of healthcare. Hillary wants “universal,” Obama wants “affordable” healthcare. That is the basic issue difference between the two candidates. Now, if you want to vote McCain simply because you're angry that Hillary didn't win, then YOUR racism is a problem. Don’t try to change Sen. Obama, change yourself. YOU are your problem. I can guarantee you, had Hillary and McCain been Democrats, and had Obama been a Republican--and had Hillary lost to McCain--you wouldn't be quick to cast your vote for Obama as a Republican. You would stick to your party.
Hey, but that's YOUR vote. Live with it!
Unfortunately, many still feel that black people are inferior, and only white people are intelligent enough to run the country. There are times when I want to say, enough excuses already! Just say what you’re thinking: "I don't want a black man running this country!" Or, “Obama will make a mess of America--he’s too inexperienced.” Well, to those who don’t want a black man running this country, I say, don’t vote for Obama. With McCain being aged, educated and white, he can’t possibly steer the country in the wrong direction. NO WORRIES! And for those who believe Obama will make a mess of America because you believe he’s inexperienced, I say, don’t vote for Obama. With McCain being aged, educated, experienced and white, he’s not likely to make a mess. After all, this country has had eight years of bliss.
So, do what you do best. Make excuses, point the blame at others, get angry and then vote. Oh, and not to appear “unpatriotic,” I did type this comment while wearing my flag pin and while waving the stars-and-stripes.

Wendy…Wow, sounds like someone is frustrated and really needed to vent. Do we feel better now? And to think you were talking to me about having mature and decent conversation (which I was). By the way, thanks for bringing race into this conversation. Playing the race card is exactly what Obama did to Hilary and McCain. Although I give you more credit than Obama, at least you were wearing your flag pin. Peace and God bless.

Wendy smoked you out, Tim. She said the remarks were for the white folks who were not honorable, and you replied.

For 37 No D. It was pretty obvious what she was trying to say and who it was directed for. I'm not voting for Obama, so I must either be a racist or ignorant.

The last words will be from your reply, Tim: "I must be racist or ignorant." (Your quote and your choice, but my guess is, you're both).

If you want rich white men like George Soros, covicted felons like Tony Rezko, Arabs who are funding his campaign, homosexuals, baby-killer abortionists and radical feminists running this country, then vote for BHO. They all own him. Where ddo you think he is getting all that money? It is NOT black folks!
...
and besides Barack is not black. That is the big joke on us. He is half white, 25% arab and 25% black African. If you do not want these enemies of Christ and enemies of black America running your life, you only have one other realistic choice, whether you like it or not. If you do not like John McCain, stay home and don't vote. But if you vote for Obama, you are voting for the sworn enemies of black America. Wake up folks and do your research!
