Now, do any of them look remotely like you?
If you're like many black people, the answer is probably, "No, they don't look like me, and they don't think like me." But is it really true that they don't think like you? Do you actually know what positions Republicans are taking on the issues that matter to you?
You might be surprised to find that you could share some of the same views as card-carrying members of the GOP. To find out if you're a closet Republican (or at least, not totally Democrat), take this Black Voices quiz.

That’s one thing in my life when I CHOOSE IT I stood by it, and that was being a Democrat, hey, and even if I have some Republican beliefs, doesn't mean I am a hidden Republican it only means we Demarcates and Republicans can agree on something’s, and that is it and I won‘t twist it up into nothing else.

In politics, as in a few other key areas of life - You must add the unspoken - OR WHAT? - to the end of EVERY thought or assertion.
Neither party 'likes' us or any other group. Political parties are like self serving bosses. They do for you when and only when it is in their self interests...and even then, only to the mininal extent THEY think needed to get your compliance.
I is a game of INTERESTS not friends...Fairness is never truly the point... stop waiting for fairness.

The Republican party as it is today has made it clear they they are a party of the haves and the have nots are not welcomed. Persoanly I hate to see an African American call themselves a Republican. The Republican Party has absolutely no interest in people of color in general. Remember Hurricane Katrina a perfect example of George Bush and his henchmen at work.

We Americans dont now what we want. because John Mccine served in the army force that dose not make him qualify to run this counry. Because Obama have less experience you think he cant run this country. every one need to opened thier eyes and look at the real issue here, we all being lie to. every thing Mccain and Obama is saying could be bacuse they wont to be in the white house. Bush promiss us the same thing; just look at us now because of the C student that is leading this country now. another thing you all talk about we need some one to protect this country. God is the greatest protecter of all of us.

What is truly fascinating is our inability to understand that continuing to do what you've been doing is going to help bring any change...
What else is fascinating is how black people go to and STAY in churches were pastors do what pastors do, but they never question the foundations of their faith. (That makes sense; the pastor is not THE savior).
Yet they seem UNABLE to understand how some blacks can look at the philosophical foundations and policy thrusts of the two parties and know that millions of us need to take a second look at our ignorant, short sited, victim mentality, do something different. I say, vote ANYTHING but democrat... Things will never change (long term, meaningful), until we do.

A Republican presidency for me, personally, has always translated into constant struggle. During the 1980s, I remember looking for work for more than two years while Reagan was in office. When I finally went back to college, I was reminded how Reagan had taken away pell grants; if you didn't have a scholarship or money, you had to be saddled with student loan debt.
The first President Bush years reminded me how the world changed very dramatically. Once again, during another Republican presidency, I was out of work for nearly a year. A coincidence? No. The economy was bad in both eras.
The last President Bush years showed me once again how the world had changed once again. Although I was not out of work for more than a year, I've struggled for most of his presidency to keep afloat. Times have not been better by any stretch of the imagination.
I made my most economic gains during the Clinton years. I'm hoping when Obama's elected that I might return to that kind of prosperity.

I just re-took the quiz and now I understand what they are implying to see whether or not you agreewith their views. I got 1 out of 7 which means I'm definitely Democrat and proud of it. I wouldn't have a problem with the Republicans if they only lived up to what they're suppose to be about. Sure they're about putting money towards big business but in turn the businesses are suppose to invest that money in the workers. Instead they chose to ship the jobs overseas, pocket the money for themselves, leaving so many workers without any means to provide for themselves and their families and the government doesn't restrict it because they're profiting from it as well. This is one of factors of the housing crisis that they're pretending doesn't exist. And you want to keep this going another 4 to 8 years? It is definitely time for a change and McCain is not the solution.
