This election will be close.
Any black American who has NOT registered to cast his or her vote this November needs to wake up.
I say this to ALL Americans, but black folks in particular. It doesn't matter who you vote for; if you feel any commitment to our democracy, you are compelled as a United States citizen to register and vote.
Your forefathers and mothers and their allies were beaten, tortured and murdered attempting to register to vote.
But sadly, some folks are not getting this because the latest research uncovers that 8 million eligible black voters are not registered to vote. That's a full third of the black voting population. That vote alone is enough to swing the election. Read on ...
"In 2004, African Americans made up approximately 11 percent of the overall vote nationwide. If the percentage of African Americans was a mere two-and-a-half percent higher at 13-and-a-half percent, Democrats would currently be running for re-election at this time," he said. "For example in the state of Ohio in 2004, we lost by two percent or 100,000 votes. There were 270,000 unregistered African Americans. I use that as an illustration to show how the African American vote can make the difference in a state and across this country. So the African American vote can absolutely make the difference in this election.''
Your vote counts. Every vote counts.
Registering to vote is pain free these days. All you have to do is drop by your local post office, fill out a straightforward form, seal it and drop it in the mail slot. It's free and if you cannot read, you can bring along a friend to help you fill it out.
Here are some other resources that might help if you have any questions or prefer to avoid the post office:

Wait a minute people! What about the women in this country? We have less rights than the black man and everybody seems to forget that little known fact! Black men could vote before white women and black men make more money than women in the corporate world! And again a women got shoved aside for the black man (Barrack) even though she was much better qualified for President than him! So tell me again about the poor fight for equal rights for the black man! Women also were slaves to their own husbands who beat them and had to cater to their every need and had absolutely no say in any subject because we were deemned not smart enough to understand the male world! So people, tell me again how the blacks have to fight for their rights! If it wasn't for us (stupid women) during word war 1 and world war 2 this country would have fallen to pieces because it was the woman who proved themselves to be just as smart and valuble to this country as men! But nooo, we still didn't get the right to vote until AFTER the black man was allowed to! Look up your history and look at today's world and then tell me again how the black man has to stand up for their rights!

Why should anyone care if they vote, if they don't care.

I encourage black Americans to vote, but not for Barack. I don't think he has a positive feeling for America, even though his "pretty words" might convince some. And, his wife stated clearly that until she was in her 40s she was not proud to be an American. This should concern us, as Americans. I want a strong proud group of Americans living here, not someone "sitting on the fence" about this extremely important issue. VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN

Why do black Americans think that Obama will change their personal situation? You won't have more unless you do something about it. We have always been our worst enemy (regardless of our race or culture). There MUST be a better reason to vote for Obama than his skin color. If you are voting for him, ask yourself the real reason why. Has he stated a specific policy or plan that you agree with? No? If you are voting for him just because he is 1/2 black, isn't that a racist reason?

First Obama is not black, he is biracial, so why does he not claim to be the first bi-racial person running for office. He is not BLACK, I am tired of everyone saying Obama is going to be the first black President of the United States. Well I am doing my part to make sure he is not the first biracial President. On another note I am democrat and have alwyas claimed to be, but I vote for the person not the party. There have been plenty of times I voted for a republican over a democrat, with me it is more about values and Obama cannot claim to be biracial, he claims to be black, the first of many lies. I like Biden but not enough to vote for Obama. I am not sure of Palin as I do not know her. I have black friends and most of them agree with, blacks have more rights than whites, they can claim racisim if things do not go thier way, whites (especially white males) can just work harder to make sure it does not happen again.

I don't understand the phenom of people not voting. My office mate who, incidentally,is white, two grandchildren, a husband and two stepsons refuses to register to vote. I don't get it. How can someone who adores her family not want to participate in this democracy and put a small claim on their future and hers. There's a certain kind of apathy that cannot be explained. Guess it's a little like asking people to pick up their own trash and get ignored.

All I would ask is that for those who think that they want to vote for Obama, Please research his history. Inform yourself, read Obama Nation. Learn about his connection to Socialism, Communism, His Syrian associate and convicted criminal Tony Rezco, his connection to the unrest in Kenya. His hatefulness about his white half, the basis for his claim to "Change". Change does not mean what you think. I think you will be surprised at the facts of his history.

Why do white folks feel the need to come on a black website , created for black folks. Whats up with this almost sexual need to screw with us.To often express thier racist crap. Why do I even ask this? They came to Africa looking for us why not on BV as well. Just need to express the urge to say "Im a member of the master race and you ain't" Oh my the way "you need to be happy that Im telling you that or you might be mistook for an angry black person". The just can't leave us alone .Love Us hate us , fear us but can't leave us alone.
