This election will be close.
Any black American who has NOT registered to cast his or her vote this November needs to wake up.
I say this to ALL Americans, but black folks in particular. It doesn't matter who you vote for; if you feel any commitment to our democracy, you are compelled as a United States citizen to register and vote.
Your forefathers and mothers and their allies were beaten, tortured and murdered attempting to register to vote.
But sadly, some folks are not getting this because the latest research uncovers that 8 million eligible black voters are not registered to vote. That's a full third of the black voting population. That vote alone is enough to swing the election. Read on ...
"In 2004, African Americans made up approximately 11 percent of the overall vote nationwide. If the percentage of African Americans was a mere two-and-a-half percent higher at 13-and-a-half percent, Democrats would currently be running for re-election at this time," he said. "For example in the state of Ohio in 2004, we lost by two percent or 100,000 votes. There were 270,000 unregistered African Americans. I use that as an illustration to show how the African American vote can make the difference in a state and across this country. So the African American vote can absolutely make the difference in this election.''
Your vote counts. Every vote counts.
Registering to vote is pain free these days. All you have to do is drop by your local post office, fill out a straightforward form, seal it and drop it in the mail slot. It's free and if you cannot read, you can bring along a friend to help you fill it out.
Here are some other resources that might help if you have any questions or prefer to avoid the post office:

Why do you people think that the only reason I am going to vote for Obama is skin color? That in its self is idiotic. I vote on the issues. I can not believe Mccain. He is playing games. Mccain doesn't even support our troops. If Clarence Thomas was runnig he would not get my vote. It is not about skin color. That is just what you idiots are saying. If Obama was just speaking to black people I would never vote for him. He is looking out for the majority. The middle class. The backbone of this country. Why sould the rich get richer without paying us a decent wage. I work hard for my money and just want an honest days pay for an honest days work. Nothing more, nothing less.

Considering what all have endured in America. The right to vote is an honor. All it takes, is to complete a form and go vote for the candidate which best expresses your views and concerns. The race of the candidate should not matter, but who will represent your voice in Washington. Whites have had this arena for years, now we have one Black candidate and everyone is in a tizzy. This is a very crucial election where everyone should be registered and especially Blacks. We are presently in two wars, black men participating and dying, our senior citizens not being properly cared because they have no health insurance. High fuel and food prices are ridiculous. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard and our communities represented. The republican party is powered by those big business and special interest groups, who vote and is heard with their money backing them. Remember the last democratic president? How were you doing before Bush and now after. Your vote does count! The power of One Voice does work! Remember our children, our seniors and get out and "Barack the Vote"!
Incidentally, those who are Christian, the Bible cannot be legislated!!! The Word of God is of personal conviction and obedience.Unfortunately not everyone has accepted yet, and cannot be subjected to what they don't understand. McCain believes no abortion except in the case of rape and incest. What does the Bible say, None and trust God to help you through. I know He will, I've been witness to it. Do not be duped a 2nd time. In 2004, it was stem cell research which Bush endorsed and funded after he got your vote. The last days will see the very elect decieved. See the difference. The Word of God should not be added to, taken away from or compromised.
Everybody get out and vote and vote wisely, research the issues. Find out where you stand and vote.

If this blog isnt an attempt to make this election a race issue then it has to parrelle the other springer show..."Oprah" seriously if you cant read take a friend who can read....and remmeber our education system in this country has been based on very liberal rights since 1960..yes the democrats far left liberals are the reason why our adults cant read muchless make educated selections on whom to vote for ...the party has finally made our vote count non-existant and we still vote lock step...for these same people who exhault certain leaders in our communities meanwhile not making a real difference in our overall education...duh a good black american with many generations in this country might arise out of the system instead of us having to import a first generation kenyan who doesnt really understand the real black community...but then most of those 8 million blacks that cant read or write who is going to aid them in voting an educated black community activist????? That type of voting is a subvervious of the demcratic voting process in this country and to put the rapes the killings etc in your statement above as to the reason why we should vote for obama offends my sensibilies as an educated black person in this country. Obama and oblivious black voices are making this a race election while saying to main stream media it isnt...give me a break ...please I'm not stupid....

Every american citizen regardless of their race or gender should register and vote based on the issues. Trust me, the Chinese, Al-Qeda or any other qroup that does not hold America in high regard care if we are white, black, red or yellow. They just want to see the downfall of our great nation. Wake-up America, let's stop fighting among ourselves while the very fabric of our country is being taken right from under us. Jake,Montana

I am an African American women and voting for Obama I believe he is the best choose because he is all about healing our major issues in this country like the the economy and the war in Iraq. I don't trust palin or mccain. Any woman or man that starts giving prophecy about what God has told her (gas pipeline???gathering in Alaska in the end of days...what in the world)this is worrying. She is very scary!!! Oh, I am sick of the media calling her the it girl because she is not. Its really not all that. They need to concentrate on the issues. Like the fact that food, gas, oil, taxes, foreclosures, etc all on the rise.
