This election will be close.
Any black American who has NOT registered to cast his or her vote this November needs to wake up.
I say this to ALL Americans, but black folks in particular. It doesn't matter who you vote for; if you feel any commitment to our democracy, you are compelled as a United States citizen to register and vote.
Your forefathers and mothers and their allies were beaten, tortured and murdered attempting to register to vote.
But sadly, some folks are not getting this because the latest research uncovers that 8 million eligible black voters are not registered to vote. That's a full third of the black voting population. That vote alone is enough to swing the election. Read on ...
"In 2004, African Americans made up approximately 11 percent of the overall vote nationwide. If the percentage of African Americans was a mere two-and-a-half percent higher at 13-and-a-half percent, Democrats would currently be running for re-election at this time," he said. "For example in the state of Ohio in 2004, we lost by two percent or 100,000 votes. There were 270,000 unregistered African Americans. I use that as an illustration to show how the African American vote can make the difference in a state and across this country. So the African American vote can absolutely make the difference in this election.''
Your vote counts. Every vote counts.
Registering to vote is pain free these days. All you have to do is drop by your local post office, fill out a straightforward form, seal it and drop it in the mail slot. It's free and if you cannot read, you can bring along a friend to help you fill it out.
Here are some other resources that might help if you have any questions or prefer to avoid the post office:

Whats scary About Obama is where is all his money coming from. According to an article by Maureen Doud of the New YOrk Times a very large portion of his 200 million internet contribtions has come from the mid east. With all the rumors flying around about Obama it is scary to think he s the Arabs choice. The Times is the most Liberal paper in the world for them to make note of where his money is comming from is very noteworthy

I am sorry but Palin speech tonight was VERY BORING for it was nothing more of the same name calling which McCain did for months. I am sorry but Palin did not cover anything but her (tone of speech) being a HOCKEY MOM (YEA RIGHT!!!) and about McCain being a war hero. Not once did she cover the issues and what she would do.
Actually if anybody with half a brain and access to a computer would have been able to see her whole speech on the internet. For she did not write it and all day she practice the speech. She was coached all day.
As experience lets at a good look at things:
1. Palin has only a BS degree and it is not even in Poltics
2. Palin stated he was a mayor of little town of 6500. Now how does that mean you are ready for the VP?
3. She claimed that AK has a surplus as to funds which is true but sorry it was not under her 18-months. AK gets a wind-off tax from the oil companies for drilling and pumping oil. And when was the pipeline was build? duh back in the 1970's.
I can go on for days but I am sorry to say McCain really shows a lack of judgement for this one.

My comment keeps appearing and disappearing. What's up with that? At any rate, how naive can you people be?I'm saying the Electoral College chooses the President and Vice President.Unless you're a member of the Electoral College, your vote is just a popular opinion!'DON'T YOU KNOW THAT YET!!

Oh yea I forgot
McCain bound down to the religious right to get a VP whom he really did not want.
Do you want a person to be president that will bend down and kiss other peoples behind like McCain or do you want somebody who stands-up for what is right no matter what.
I have lost all respect for McCain for shoving side the persson he really wanted for his VP just because of few people opinion he wanted to keep.
This to shows POOR JUDGEMENT

A Black woman called the radio station and said she lives in Alaska and that Sarah refused to meet with the Black Caucus there. She said she had no room on her calendar to meet with "Special Interest Groups." So is that what Black people can expect from her if she gets in the White House?

Have any of these comments actually been made by African Americans? WOW people. The point is YOU can change that number by holding registration events in your neighborhood or anywhere. You can go online to www.mybarackobama.com to volunteer and to get the word out!

Black People, please don't be fooled by all these people writing to this site saying they are 'Black', and they are voting for McCain, and that Barack is not the best for President!!! These are actually WHITE people trying to confuse you! Don't buy into all that anti Barack rubbish they are trying to spread here. You just read from one who admitted he is white. He is the one who wanted to know why we have to have a Black Voices Website! Well, Ron, this is the very reason why! So we can talk about everything we want to talk about without having you(whites) becoming so afraid of our dialogue that you have to hate us for having this forum to discuss issues pertaining to us. People please beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. Even though many different types of people visit our website, and contribute to our dialogue; it doesn't mean they are always FOR us! Take that negative crap with a grain of salt---and know who is for you and who is against you. STICK WITH OBAMA! HE IS THE CHANGE WE NEED TO SEE IN THIS COUNTRY! OBAMA is willing to go the distance for ALL OF US---not just a chosen few! Go to the polls and VOTE for OBAMA. Get your family and friends out to vote as well! Be well and be ready for the change that is about to come----Everybody please go out and do your part and get those not registered to vote registered. Thank you for your time! Peace---

Living in Chicago, it is hard to be a McCain/Palin supporter. As an black man, it is much harder, than if I lived deep in the suburbs. Because myself & Senator Obama have the same skin tone DOES NOT mean he will get my vote. Most black politicians in Chicago are too corrupt & in the tank for the Chicago political machine.
