Coincidently, while the Republicans were wrapping up their nominating convention on every other TV channel, Bill-O's long-awaited interview with Barack opened with a bang on Fox News.
Out of the gate, the 'No Spin Zone' host launched the question on the minds of all Americans, especially the Americans wearing the 10-gallon cowboy hats at the Republican convention all this week.
When in the hell are we going to bomb Iran?
Wait! Bomb Iran? No so fast Bill. ...
Now, O'Reilly was suggesting a hypothetical bombing, of course, not one that kills people, not one based on supposed or "hypothetical" WMDs.
"I'm going to assume that Iran's going to say, 'blank' you, we're going to do what we want. And I want a president, whether it's you or McCain, who says, you ain't doing that," O'Reilly said.
The Father of the Factor was desperate to get Obama on tape admitting he flip-flopped on his not supporting a surge of troops in Iraq, a move that has apparently being hailed as a successful strategy in a war that should have never been fought.
The problem was, Bill couldn't shut up or avoid interrupting Obama's answers for thirty seconds.
"I think you should admit it to the nation (the O'Reilly nation, that is) that now we have defeated the terrorists in Iraq. ... We've also inhibited Iran from controlling the southern part of Iraq by the surge which you did not support. So why won't you say, I was right in the beginning, I was wrong about that (the surge)? O'Reilly was practically BEGGING Obama to break down!
Obama did not fall into his trap of admitting to something he did not need to admit to. Only a pinhead would do that!
"We gotta have the ability to distinguish between these groups," Obama told O'Reilly. "The war in Iraq is a good example where I believe the administration lumped together Saddam Hussein, a terrible guy, with al Qaeda which had nothing to do with Saddam Hussein."
And McCain's folks who make his campaign advertisements are furious about Obama actually answering O'Reilly's questions. They expected at least some good B-roll of him getting "out foxed."
This is only round one, and in typical Factor fashion, the Fox patriarch sent the interview to the chop shop, splicing it into four pieces so you watch his show on Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday and every day of the week.
Not unlike the way he milked the Rev. Jesse Jackson's "nuts" comments and broke it into 13 episodes.
"Provocative!" That's what the rest of this interview is going to be, O'Reilly says. Bill-O is expected to touch on, among other things, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Bill-O will no doubt ask what it is like to be a "hypothetical" Muslim. Maybe he'll even sneak in a "terrorist fist bump."

Why is it so hard for him to admit he was wrong? Being honest is not his best quality. That's a shame. I've lost a lot of respect for this man.

Barrack Obama is a man of talk and not action. As always with inexperienced people, they talk a good game but when when real threats emerge they react like a deer in headlights. Good example...Mayor Nagin who when Katrina sat off the coast morphing into a major hurricane he did nothing and just waited for divine intervention to somehow make it not happen. Thank goodness our neighbors listened to my husband, an experienced seaman with extensive time spent in the Caribbean, to get out... that this was no hurricane Betsy but a killer storm. After the city flooded and chaos ruled, Mayor Nagin hid in a downtown hotel room. The governor and Nagin both did not except their share of the blame for failing to act, as usual they blamed it on others. We lost a home in New Orleans and never rebuilt. This time since he was experienced, he did a great job! He learned it is better to take action and perhaps be wrong then to wait too long to act and then deal with a catastrophe. Senator Obama is still passing the buck on tough issues and expecting others to solve the problem. I'm not impressed with the UN. Are you willing to put our secuity in the hands of others? He never really answered the Iran question, except that he expected others to solve it. Doesn't he remember the "students" (terrorists) who held Americans hostage in Iran during the Carter Administration. Iran's current President was one of those "students" (terrorists).

I bet we would hear more answers from McCain too.... b/c Bill O'Reilly would actually let him speak. Bill is *so* disrespectful to Obama. I think Obama carries himself well and answers (when allowed) intelligently and with a firm grip on specific issues. It probably goes over many people's heads, but that's b/c those same people would rather ignorantly label people as evil or good, when it isn't as clear as all that. When we occupied Iraq, I'm sure there were Iraqi citizens and peace-loving Muslims who thought *we* were quite "evil." Thank you, Barack, for your 21st century approach and understanding to conflict, religion, and threats in our world.

Im not sure what interview Ann Wright was watching, however Barack Obama answered all of Bill Oriely's questions, when he wasnt interrrupted. It appeaars whenever Barack Obama didnt answer the questions they way Bill Oreily wanted, he was interrrupted. Bill Oreily is notorius for doing that. McCain is a joke who doesnt and cant relate to normal every day citizens. He has no concept on unity or change. And he definately doesent care about the billions of dollars spent on the war as well as over 4,000 army men/women killed fighting a war that should have never happened. McCains speech lastnight was very boring and had/offered no solutuions to the economy, healthcare, jobs etc... I feel sorry for you because it is apparent that you are mis-informed as well as blind folded. Educate yourself on where each presidental nominee stands on the issues....

I watched the interview and even heard the comments that Bill had afterward that Obama was a tough guy. I admire Obama for not falling prey to Bill's bull dog tactics and taking time to think before answering. Obama did admit the surge worked, however followed the statement up with the real truth - we shouldn't have been in Iraq in the 1st place. And for some reason folks have forgotten the number of lives lost before and after the surge. What has America accomplished?

Looking at what is needed in this world and a person who is making it so clear that he will talk and talk to these people and take them at their word, and then they will turn around and do what they did in New York and other parts of the world even so right now, he doesn't want to use military against the Muslims, if you listen to what he is NOT saying, like when he said,Iran is a major threat, they are not part of the same network".
What does it matter if he is part of the same network they are a big threat, they have nuclear weapons.
He would not answer a straight answer on "Would you prepare for one".
He doesn't want to say he will come against his own people.
What does having to say you will prepare for it, have to do with tipping your hand?
The man can't admit he was wrong, and that is not a sign of an honest man.
He should of said" McCain made a good call on increasing troops.
It takes man power to save lives.
I have no respect for him, and that is not a Republican talking.
We have talked to these people over and over and we still are talking to them, and of course Obama says we are not, because the general public has no proof of these talks.
These talks are to be in private not open for every person on Earth to hear, that is tipping your hand.
If you want a more safe America, vote with your hearrt not with a party.
I truely believe that McCain is an honest man, who truley cares for his country and all mankind.
He showed his love for his country over and over again even when he was being tortured and could have gone home.
His love for others came first.
Obama has never showqed what he can do, and he is saying he did things that he never did.
He even said his Father was in World war II.
What did he mean by that?
I know people that was in the Viet Nam War but never was in the military.
We where all in the 911 in one way or another.
He likes to use a play on words.
His Father was not even in the military, but Obama is playing head games.
Where is his love for all people?
Not to go race, but I have to point this out, he went to a Church, and he only left it because of pressure of running for President, and if he remained he would of had a harder time showing he didn't agree with Pastor Wright.
Pastor Wright was a a person who blamed everything on the white race, and even said the white America created the aids virus to attack the black.
How ignorant is that?
For Obama to say he never heard this man say things against America is total ignorant, and how could someone think he is telling the truth.
He when there for 20 years.
The church was based on the black race and what is best for blacks, not all mankind.
If Obama was a true Christian he would have walked out of that Church when he first heard the Partor speak these things and even glorify Farahan or how ever you say the mans name.
I love the man Obama, but I can see deception and he is far from a Christian, by the fruits he shows in his life.
This wife rtipped her hand a little by saying,"this is the first time I'm proud of American".
Why was she proud, because American people where accepting her husbands way of thinking?
Please pray hard, and if your not a Christian, please have an open mind and listen to what he doesn't say.
What a person doesn't say and how he puts his words tells a lot.
He takes time to answer a question because he wants to make sure he doesn't commit himself to something and for some reason, he will not say how proud he is of his mother who did a lot for him, and his white Grandmother who loved his very much.
He chooses not to give credit to the race relatives, just like he won't give proper credit to a honest American who will do everything he can to not let America down.
Just remember a president can only do so much, the Senate has a lot to do with what gets done.
I hope he and Palin shake up Washington and gets America back to standards and start doing for the people and not for the politicans.
It's not who came up with a good idea, its accepting the idea even if the other party come up with it if it something that will work for America.
Time to stop do for a party and doing as a team.
