The creaky McCain/Palin double-standard spin machine is clunking into high gear once again. Seems Barack Obama uttered one of John McCain's and Vice-President Dick Cheney's favorite phrases "lipstick on a pig" and now all of a sudden Obama is a sexist. But in October of 2007, it was John McCain who used the phrase "lipstick on a pig" while talking about Hillary Clinton's healthcare proposals. Here is what McCain said:
"McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health-care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's plan, he said it was "eerily reminiscent" of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the 1990s.
"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," he said of her proposal." ...
Here is what Obama said:
Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, brought up lipstick on Tuesday in comparing the policies of McCain, his Republican rival for the White House, to those of President Bush. "You can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said during a campaign stop. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."
Same kind of thing if you ask me. No one needs to apologize for pulling out a tired but still popular cliche.
I am a dog lover, in fact we have two. But I don't really get the obsession with putting clothes on dogs and I don't really get the obsession politicians have lately with applying cosmetics to the lips of animals. But I do know this much: if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is, in fact, a duck. Maybe Obama should have just said that.

15. GIVE ME A BREAK! ITS OK FOR MCCAIN TO SAY THOSE PIG WITH LIPSTICK WORDS TO HILLARY BUT BECAUSE OBAMA IS BLACK HIS WORDS HAVE A DIFFERENT MEANING! THIS IS HOW THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAVE ALWAYS WON THE ELECTION WITH THEIR SMEARING COMMENTS! IF MCCAIN AND PALIN NEED TO WIN THE ELECTION THAT BAD THEN ITS SAD FOR THE TAX PAYERS. IF AND WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO POLITICS THEY KNOW HOW TO GET THE BALL OUT OF THEIR COURT! IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WOULD HONESTLY TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT PALIN AND MCCAIN THEY WOULD SEE THAT WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH NOW IS NOTHING COMPARE TO WHAT WE WILL GO THROUGH IF THEY PUT THESE TWO IN OFFICE. Exactly the point. It seems to me like we still have this double standard issue today. Why is it ok for McCain to say it, but if Obama says it, he's every name in the book, including the "N-Word"? Are you guys still upset because we could have a black president? I'm not saying you should vote for Obama, but if it's wrong for one, it should be wrong for the other.

I THINK THAT THE WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD FEEL INSULTED BY MCCAIN'S SELECTION OF SARAH PALIN AS HIS RUNNING MATE!! HAVE YOU REALLY LISTENED TO HER SPEAK ON ANY SUBJECT OTHER THAN BEING A "SOCCER MOM??" IF HE HAD PICKED SOMEONE WITH THE INTELLIGENCE OF HILLARY CLINTON EVEN I MIGHT CONSIDERED VOTING FOR HIM!! PICKING GOVERNOR PALIN WAS CLEARLY A GIMMICK DESIGNED TO GET HIM THE WOMAN'S VOTE. IT IS CLEAR THAT HE NEVER REALLY HAD AN INDEPTH CONVERSATION WITH HER HIMSELF, OE IS HE THAT DUMB!! I don't believe when Obama said it that it was sexist. He didn't say it in reference to a woman. It said it in reference to the Republicans.
All of you who don't like Obama, cry foul all you want. McCain and Palin are playing the dirtiest campaign ever and McCain has yet to show me anything except anger and bitterness because he's behind in the polls. And every time Palin wants to incite supporters, she blames the media for her spoken missteps. You said it, own it. Every time McCain/Palin fall further behind, they incite and instigate supporters with their lame comments about Obama. Cindy McCain said that her heart ran cold when Obama didn't vote for funding of the troops in May 2007. Did her heart run cold when her husband also voted against funding for the troops? You can all see the answer to that.

My comment is that people are so narrow minded about where Obama came from and what he is about.20 yrs in a church preaching hate towards white people, his wife saying it's time for the whites to sit in the back of the bus.Come on people wake up smell the poison and see what is going on. One lady thinks via the Glenn Beck show that Obama is going to her sugar daddy, no worries about mortgage payments, no worries about gas?He will help her? Bologna, it is downright communism that he wants our country to be.What about the people he hangs out with and went to church with now all of a sudden that is swept under the rug and not brought up anymore, then he asks Bill Clinton what he is to do next as president of the U.S. the man wouldn't even acknowledge God or pledge to our flag our great nation that he wants to ruin.Where is the respect and fear of God and respect for our Great Country?And respect for life? He even wants to murder babies that have a chance at life by allowing their precious little heads to be crushed and killed calling it a proceedure in an abortion that went wrong or actually a full term baby being born.He wants our kids to be governed by the government and not allow us as parents to make the choices our kids should have to be in schools we choose rather than failing schools.
