The creaky McCain/Palin double-standard spin machine is clunking into high gear once again. Seems Barack Obama uttered one of John McCain's and Vice-President Dick Cheney's favorite phrases "lipstick on a pig" and now all of a sudden Obama is a sexist. But in October of 2007, it was John McCain who used the phrase "lipstick on a pig" while talking about Hillary Clinton's healthcare proposals. Here is what McCain said:
"McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health-care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's plan, he said it was "eerily reminiscent" of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the 1990s.
"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," he said of her proposal." ...
Here is what Obama said:
Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, brought up lipstick on Tuesday in comparing the policies of McCain, his Republican rival for the White House, to those of President Bush. "You can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said during a campaign stop. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."
Same kind of thing if you ask me. No one needs to apologize for pulling out a tired but still popular cliche.
I am a dog lover, in fact we have two. But I don't really get the obsession with putting clothes on dogs and I don't really get the obsession politicians have lately with applying cosmetics to the lips of animals. But I do know this much: if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is, in fact, a duck. Maybe Obama should have just said that.

Sometimes i wonder what has really gone wrong even among the educated,Can't anybody tell me why Mccain did not endorse the controversial advert he aired about Obama's sincere comment,It is ovious that there are stupid nonentities who are against Obama becos of this comment. I must let y'all know that Mccain is a complete hypocrite. He should not be in the white house and moreover Americans are not stupid they know the real issues and where every candidate stands.i want to promise everybody that the worst is yet to come on Mccain's candidacy.Obama has the real change

mo power - I agree that this is bigger than anyones feelings. That is to my point that Obama should have put his feelings aside and figured out how to get Hillary on board. Because he didn't is not Hillary's fault. Let's face it, Obama winning is not in her best interest. She has one more shot in 2012. If Obama wins, that is gone. Having said that, if Obama had shown some respect, she would have done what was required, but he didn't so his campaign should not expect anything from her.

Fear is a terrible thing. Fear will have you do the most degradeable things known to man. Had fear not overwhelmed Hillary, she wouldn't have lost. Fear had her not running her own race. She kept looking in Baracks lane and lost track of her own step. McCain and Palin are even worse. Their entire campaign was nothing more than an Obama roast. Every other word was negative about Obama. That's why they're going to lose too. Keep your eye on your own race

We need to stop the drama via educating folks. It is not what is said, it is how folks break it down after it's said. Obama did not use a sexist statement. Even children know that Lipstick does not transform any thing nor anyone in any way. Stop pitting men against
women, and visa versa. This is our world, not Man's or Woman, so stop using feminist grps to get back at Men. We need to get back to the issues. Bring our troops home to their own homes not ones foreclosed. Bring down the cost of living. We need to stop yelling out the JMcBush and SaraMcSame song&rhetoric of drill baby drill. We need to stop twisting up what the Dems are saying and Realize, Dems don't like taxes It is the GOP who will tax folks in a heartbeat and call it relief, then give it to the wealthy via tax breaks. Poor working class folks get nothing. giving you back

With the housing market failing, gas prices at a record high, banking industry in turmoil, the war in Afganistan in high gear, job lay-offs, college education is as expensive as buying a house and everyone is stuck on the stupid stuff.
My daugther goes to college in 2yrs. (in-state tuition cost $56K for 4yrs. does not include books, etc.)
Our health insurance went from $172 to $231 a mon.
Our home has decreased in value
I lost $10K this year in my 403B.
My husband lost $15K in 401K
We spend $700 a mon. in gas
We spend a $624 a mon. in grocery
Our heating bill has gone up 10% from 2006
We lost 4,442 American lives in Iraq (Weapons of Mass Destruction)
100,000 Iraq citizens dead (Weapons of Mass Destruction)
And Obsama Bin Liden still on the loose.
I'm a real person with real issues. I'm choosing the person that I think can get my FU*** money back and stop this war!

The first person on this blog referred to Sen. Obama as an idiot. You tell me the last time you saw a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School, with a ranking of 11th in the most powerful Senators, be AN IDIOT.? He is far from an idiot. You may have your opinion of who you are voting for, but I would not refer to him as an idiot. You my dear seem to be the idiot.
