"I am so sick of black people saying "Obama 08" based on the color of his skin. He is nothing but self serving, McCain suspended his campaign to work on the financial crisis, and Obama said "Hey if you need me, just give me a call" while he was still out trying to promote himself. Black, White or Purple, this man has ties to Hamas..........hello black people....are you listening???????????"

Cara ... Cara ... honey... You would have to be blind to... not ... see that this Race is going to be about "Race"... Whether it is in the back of the minds of some of the White American voters or Black American voters.... or not. I hate to say this ... but... {{Cringe}} It is in our nature to think in terms of like goes with like and us versus them. It is a reality in this country and the cause of dissension in many others. (whether it be because of race or religion or any other reason to not "love thy neighbor") This country was created on that idea.
And what makes you think that McCains "suggested suspension" of his campaign was nothing more than a publicity stunt. He found that Obama had been keeping tabs on the progress of the talks with Paulson and others, in private, and decided to go public because he wasn't. He was sliding in the polls and he thought that if he went on the record saying that he would go in there and take care of everything, he would gain popularity. But what happened... he goes in there, when everything was being worked out, and now all is in a shambles... (Is this a view of what a McCain Administration would bring to the white house?) He has nothing to do with the negotiations... and then all of a sudden he is oh so interested in going in and helping? ... Seriously?!... (Looked more like another photo op to me.) Even a lot of Republicans were taken aback by the fact that he thought that they needed him. They didn't. Why did he think, with only so many days left in the election process for them to get their message out to everyone, he needed to stop what he was doing and help. (A lot of good that did) I felt that Obama was right to sit back ... and listen, to get a feel for what was truly going on, and not just go by what was told to him, then make a decision as to where he stood on the subject. Not just tow a party line. How did McCain think that by just setting up a Partisan meeting with fellow Republicans that he would get the whole picture of what has been going on for the past month. And why did he think that dealing with this meant suspending the campaign. Shouldn't he realize that ... and correct me if I'm wrong... as the President, he will have to Multi Task. The next administration will have a lot on there plate ... and a short time to prove to the American people that they, finally, made the right choice.

Many of the spin Republican spin doctors try to call Senator Obama elitist for calling McCain by his first name. What I find to be elitist is the way McCain refused to look at, speak to or acknowledge Obama, throughout the whole debate! I guess he weas too good to look that uppity nigg** in the eye.

I Think this was a perfect example of what OBAMA has
been saying all alone. MORE OF THE SAME JOHN McCAIN HAS NOT A CLUE ON WHAT THE AVERAGE AMERICAN FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH. HE ONLY WANTS TO GIVE SOMEONE WHO HAS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS MORE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY.

Obama clearly won the debate! McCain couldn't even look Obama directly in his eyes because he knew that he way lying and didn't no what he was talkin about. Obama is for change, McCain is for the same economy to keep going under. I feel sorry for all the so called middle class people who is voting for McCain. If he win you will be in the unemployment, homeless shelter line like the rest. McCain is only for the super rich. Wake up people!

John McCain had much to prove and much ground to make up, and he didn't do it. It is like play football, McCain had a 4th down and he needed to make it into the in zone from the 6 yard line and he only made it to the 2 yard line. So the little short man from Arizona just came up short. Obama walked away with a clear victory. Obama/2008

Obama clearly won this debate. As McCain repeatedly digressed to old stories, he clearly made the point that this election will be a referendum on whether this country wants to move boldly into the future as opposed to the tired dogma of the past. As McCain spent so much time on the past, I thought for a minute he was about to turn into salt.
Americans still seem to be asleep at this switch. Did anyone notice that McCain's healthcare plan would actually tax premiums, thus treating premiums as income!
His supposed support of Veterans is phony as he has never, I repeat never supported full funding for the Veterans Administration.

I find it very funny that McCain would not comment on the fact that, before we went into Iraq, the American Public were told, that the reason for this war was to get to Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban ( who were found to be the perpetrators of 911) and that Hussein was helping them. And later ... it became about access to weapons of mass destruction. Obama mentioned this several times. He alluded to the fact that he would make the same choice about ... not... going to war that he did before, given the same information, and McCain "didn't get it." The Surge... no matter how you look at it... was not working until 2007. (that's only since last year, people, we have been at war for at least 5-6 yrs ) I watched a show on PBS called "Frontline:Bush's War" ( http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/bushswar/ FRONTLINE: bush's war | PBS) were it discussed the strategies and tactics of this war and nothing was working for years. According to this documentary,... written by a someone that considers himself a close personal friend of Bush,...It was actually Condaliza Rice that was pushing the current strategy of "Clear, Hold, Release" (which is the reason the surge began to work in 2007 and is now said to be "Working") even though she was being blocked by Cheney and Rumsfeld. Bush is leaving the White House a disgrace. He is trying to clean up his image now ... in the 9th hour... and it is too late. (But some of you voted for him... again... and you know who you are... {{SMILE}} but I digress .) Now... we have McCain... who supported most (and I think that you can count 90% as most... because if you had 90% of a pie .... you would have ... da-da! da-da!! ... most of the pie... its not Physics, people)... of Bush's policies including his policies dealing with the state of our economy. And he wants to be our next President. He talks about Obama not voting on certain issues but ... I ask you... what is better? ... Voting on a policy that has loop holes in it that make it, pretty much useless to tow the Party line? ... or Voting against it because you know that it is useless?... I also found it funny that McCain admitted to doing the exact same thing on an energy policy.
