John McCain is crying, because Gwen Ifill is going to moderate the VP debate tonight. Crying when he approved the pick on August 6th, knowing full well that Ifill is publishing a book that speaks positively of Barack. Or at least this was publicly available knowledge. Not her fault if McCain and his team did not do diligent research.

Yet, McCain said on 'Fox and Friends' :

"Frankly, I wish they had picked a moderator that isn't writing a book favorable to Barack Obama. Let's face it. But I have to have to have confidence that Gwen Ifill will handle this as the professional journalist that she is. Life isn't fair, as I mentioned earlier in the program."

Get a grip! Life isn't fair? Or is McCain capitalizing on the ignorance of the American public of his own decision to approve Ifill -- to gain undeserved sympathy?

Ifill's response is the best:

"Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?"

My, my, a debate has started already. This may be more juicy than the one between the VP candidates.
