'Saturday Night Live' cast non-black actor Fred Armisen to play Senator Obama during its presidential debate skits. I think he does a fine job, but part of me wonders whether SNL producers should have found a black actor for the role.
Over at Citizen Sugar, they've asked a pertinent question: Is this black face? Or is Armisen as "race neutral" as Obama seems to be -- thus making him perfect to play the candidate that seems to transcend race. I am not sure. First 'Tropic Thunder,' now this. It seems that race-bending is all the rage in 2008.
this is nuts, the dude isn't playing the black part of Obama, he's playing the white part.
assuming that they find a black comedian to satire Obama.......who's gonna play the white part? this is just racist if a black person portrays the white side of Obama.......
Fred Armisen's impression of Barack Obama has gotten better over the weeks since he started portraying him. [His take on Boy George at Weekend Update had me dying.] Interestingly enough, no one has mentioned Darrell Hammond doing Jesse Jackson years ago.

A truly asinine point of view. Why?
The reason is well noted. The part of you that has a problem with it is your bigoted part.

Sure it's correct . Obama says he's half and half. He can be white or black.,....and is. DOesn't matter anyway.

Obama is multi-racial, black and white, and Armisen is multi-racial, Venezuelan, German and Japanese. Get over it.
