What's the first thing that comes to mind when you see it? Nothing. Well, some say what should jump out at you is the "racism;" a ten dollar food stamp with Obama's head on a donkey surrounded by ribs, the Kool-Aid man and a KFC bucket.
But here is the kicker, the president of the group that distributed this says it's not so; She says there is nothing wrong with it.
Diane Fedele, President of the Chaffey Community Republican Women, says she simply wanted to deride a comment Obama made over the summer about how as an African-American he "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." Still, she says that she plans to send an apology letter to her members and to apologize at the club's meeting next week.
As quoted in the Press Enterprise:
"I didn't see it the way that it's being taken. I never connected," she said. "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."That statement alone sums up the problem with this entire ad and the sheer ignorance that's behind it.
For all the polls and congratulations that are bestowed upon Barack Obama, this is what some people still think of him and the African-American race.
Lets hope things like this don't block Obama's growing chance of a seat in the White House and a place in history.

You know the saddest thing of all is that the rest of the world is watching us. A major part of the world is waiting on Obama to take office. There is a bookie in some country (Poland I think)paying people early for betting on Obama to win (www.intrade.com). Never would a white candidate be treated this way. A great number of Blacks took what they were offered for leadership and moved on and now that an educated leader, who happens to be biracial (black and white - talk about unity), is about to take center stage and make his mark on history, our own embarrasing history rears its ugly head. This is our opportunity to show the world how we can unify and make this a greater nation. If we can do it for 9-11, then the Bush tragedy should make it easy for us to come together. Utopian thought but something has to change. Our dollar stinks, we make nothing here, China owns us, and no one has a decent job or makes the wages that they actually should be paid, have to self medicate because our premiums are through the roof. We must weigh options and decide just what is sick enough to seek medical attention. We now have to deal with this Ms. Fedele who has to go and "muck" things up. Classy lady. All I can say is Zabasearch is an awesome tool. Use it and send her plenty of mail!!!
Now go vote!

Is it any wonder why minorities have difficulties relating to the Republican party. When they have someone like Diane Fedele "in charge" and she doesn't see the racism in this, that should be a RED FLAG something is really really wrong.

How sad...she didn't even respect him enough to paste his face on currency; if she doesn't realize how racist it is that she pasted his face on a food stamp!!!
The world is watching our country, wondering if we have progressed enough to elect a black man as president. In my heart, I know that there are is a vast majority of white voters, who will cast their votes based on skin color, because no matter how right he is for our country right now, they cannot, and will not cast their vote for a black man.

I don't know who will read this, however, I know it is the election crazy season, but the charges the McCain campaign has been making are bodering on slander and harrasment. I think it is terrible. If you looked in McCain's or Pailn's clodet, you would not only find skeletons but a large bone factory. Those who throw rocks should be very very careful.

When you are small minded you think things like this are necessary and amusing. I guess as the race gets tighter this is how some people are going to react. For some this is the first time they have come in contact alongside intelligent, strong, educated people like Senator Obama and his wife Michelle. The best way for Democratic supporters to look at this attempt to rattle our strength and power is to keep focus on the presidency and remember to vote for OBAMA!
