What's the first thing that comes to mind when you see it? Nothing. Well, some say what should jump out at you is the "racism;" a ten dollar food stamp with Obama's head on a donkey surrounded by ribs, the Kool-Aid man and a KFC bucket.
But here is the kicker, the president of the group that distributed this says it's not so; She says there is nothing wrong with it.
Diane Fedele, President of the Chaffey Community Republican Women, says she simply wanted to deride a comment Obama made over the summer about how as an African-American he "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." Still, she says that she plans to send an apology letter to her members and to apologize at the club's meeting next week.
As quoted in the Press Enterprise:
"I didn't see it the way that it's being taken. I never connected," she said. "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."That statement alone sums up the problem with this entire ad and the sheer ignorance that's behind it.
For all the polls and congratulations that are bestowed upon Barack Obama, this is what some people still think of him and the African-American race.
Lets hope things like this don't block Obama's growing chance of a seat in the White House and a place in history.

It should be legal to smack someone in the mouth for not only creating this disgusting piece of racism, but for then having the nerve to LIE and say it wasnt intentional, when a child could see the stereotypes on it.
I really want to be proactive in healing race issues in this country, I hope and pray that my fellow americans of color can accept and trust that a lot of us not only hate this kind of garbage, we fought to help get Obama elected and also were moved to tears when he won.
Yesterday I was leaving an office and waiting to cross a street. an african american guy was next to me, I thought he was looking at my 'change' campaign button, so I smiled and said 'yes, we did'. He yelled at me that I could eff off and Obama was going to be president if I liked it or not. I was taken aback, and said that I voted for Obama, I was only trying to be friendly, and I was sorry if he misunderstood. He glared at me and stalked off.
I was really upset for a few hours, then I realized, I owe my friends and neighbors more than just voting for the best man (Obama) reguardless of race, I owe them some patience to trust that not all of us are hate filled liars. when you see people who can create this food stamp and then lie, it is easy to see how a life time of similar incidences could make a person not want to trust. I always knew racism was everywhere in this country, but it wasnt until the election that we seem to have turned the lights on and seen all the racist roaches run. It makes me feel sick to think my friends and neighbors have lived with this all their lives. So, let us all keep trying to heal, and never give up. Yes we can!

I think this is definitely racism at a very silly and distasteful level. President elect Barack Obama is passionate about helping our country and we ALL need to pray and ask God to help him help us. Our economy as we all is know is in a major crisis and we do not need foolishness and racism at this time. President elect Barack Obama is deserving of EVERYONE'S respect towards him.
