Two neo-Nazi skinheads were reportedly arrested in a plot uncovered by The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to assassinate Barack Obama and kill 88 black high school students in Tennessee.I hope this is not a symptom of a greater ill.
I was asked recently by a very prominent attorney what did I think would happen after Obama won. I told him there would be a rise in overt racism in this country, perhaps something like we haven't seen since the 1950s.
While race has obviously become less of a factor in this country, which seems to be heading toward its first African-American president, there are still pockets and factions in this country that are still very much stuck in the past.
And while many of us are rightfully focusing on the economy or perhaps an assault by terrorists from another country, history tells me we have to check the terrorists within...
This latest neo-Nazi plot is a symptom of a cancer that exists in this country. And I believe it will grow uglier if and when Obama wins. There have a been a few indicators: During some McCain/Palin campaign rallies there have been shouts of "kill him!" and "off with his head!" referring to Obama.
There have been references to "fried chicken and watermelon" and other derogatory ads. There was even a McCain "volunteer" from Pennsylvania who claimed that a 6-foot-4 black man assaulted her outside of an ATM, fondling her breasts and carving a B for Barack into her cheek. That one turned out to be a hoax (I knew it was when I heard it... but we can discuss that later). But there's history here.
Susan Smith accused a black man of carjacking her and stealing her two kids. We later found out that she drowned her own children in a South Carolina lake. In 1989 in Boston, Charles Stuart sent police on a statewide chase of a black who he claimed stopped them at a light, demanded money and then shot his pregnant wife in the stomach. We later found out he had his own pregnant wife and unborn child killed.
When the going gets tough, people look for a scapegoat. Blacks have filled that role for some in the past.
This week vandals tore down a sign marking the site where Emmett Till's brutally battered body was dragged from the Tallahatchie River in Mississippi. In Texas, just last month a 24-year-old Texas man, Brandon McClelland, was going on a beer run across the state line into Oklahoma when he was hit and run over by a truck and dragged for 70 feet under the truck, his body parts shredded along the way. One of the attackers is part of a white supremacist group.
Sound familiar? In Texas in 1998, James Byrd was dragged behind a pickup truck by a gang of white supremacists until his torso came off.
I believe we have a very short memory. If we fail to remember our history, we are doomed to repeat it.
It was not so long ago-less than 50 years ago-when blacks were forced to sit on the back of buses, couldn't vote, couldn't go to schools alongside whites, couldn't eat at lunch counters and were relegated to second-class citizenship. When blacks fought for equality, there was a reign of terror unleashed on them that included lynchings, being burned alive, castrations, the bombing of churches with little girls inside and a host of horrific acts.
In 'Without Sanctuary' there are pictures of lynchings of blacks and others in this country. In these pictures you see white folks with their children on their shoulders, pointing and smiling. It's chilling to think that human beings would bring their children to witness such horrific acts and do so with glee, sending post cards with pieces of the remains of the victims attached.
But it happened. And those children are now adults in America somewhere.
As we attempt to turn the page on all of that, we must also be careful, watchful and vigilant to not let a few evil, hateful, ignorant beings ruin the possibility and the hope of what American can be. To borrow a phrase, we must never forget.
United we stand. But the other part of that is real: Divided we fall. Just as those planes didn¹t distinguish white from black, Republican from Democrat, rich from poor on September 11th, nor will the next terrorist attack or this current economic crisis choose sides.

Lets start with Barack Obama, a gifted young man with his future ahead of him looking bright.
Lets look at the negatives. He has outlined a recovery plan with billions of dollars in new spending, much larger government, and tax cuts to some, with increases to others. Independent study has shown the cost of his plan is to great, so it won't get done as advertised. But this is what all politicians do to get elected so no big deal.
He has out spent McCain by at least five to one and has conducted the most expensive campaign in history. He would like us to believe this is all from small donations but he only leads the race by a few percentage points. Something sounds wrong with these numbers. If he has accepted large donations from certain interest groups then he will have to take care of them if he is elected. This can be said of most politicians so no big deal here.
His own running mate has said "he is not qualified to lead" when they were running against each other, and now states, "he has steel in his spine". Again something is not right. This could be something.
I have seen Obama on U Tube with a straight face say he never heard Reverend Wright speak against America and make raciest speeches in the twenty years he attended church. Then I saw him again on U Tube with a straight face saying he did hear it, but didn't like it. Then I watched him throw the reverend under the bus, the reverend who baptized his children, was asked to leave the campaign. But a straight faced liar could be good for foreign negotiations.
I have watched as "Joe the Plumber" asked Obama a question and Joe didn't like the answer. This is his right in this free country. That should have been it, but no, the media comes down on him like a fright train with Obama standing by doing nothing to stop it. This is taking away my free speech and my ability to question our elected leaders without fear. This is a big no no. I expect our leaders to protect our rights even when they don't like what we are saying.
Obama does have an affiliation with the ACORN organization which he minimizes. Even though he gave a speech to ACORN, November 2007 in which he stated:
“I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”
ACORN has been shown in many states to have illegally registered voters and just recently has been caught illegally voting in Ohio. Obama has not condemned ACORN or this practice.
I have seen him minimize his connection to the "Former Terrorist" (if that's possible) Bill Ayers without going into the depth of his relationship. This worries me on two fronts, 1- We have seen Obama lie straight faced and he is good at it, and 2 Bill Ayers is now teaching our youth? WTF
If Obama is elected this will mean that the country will be run exclusively by Democrates for the next four years with no opposition from anyone, just like a dictator. This is because the Democrats will hold a majority in the house and senate plus the presidency. They can appoint more liberal judges to interpret the law as they see fit . So if you don't agree with EVERY LIBERAL IDEA they can come up with, that's to bad, they don't have to listen to you for at least four years. At least with McCain as president he can veto the really bad ideas.
There are more types of prejudices than just black and white and some are state sponsored designed to keep us fighting with each other instead of really looking at the people we are about to elect.
I just convinced myself, McCain is our only hope. That was easy.

If you want to know my color I will tell you this: If I am right I will celebrate my correctness, and If I am wrong I will undue my injustice. That is my color.

Please update this article, as the facts are incorrect. The FBI investigated the allegations of threatening shouts of "Kill Him" etc regards to Obama, and found this to be false. Let's also not forget what some strange white off the wall Hollywood nuts have done to Palin & McCain, in hanging a noose around a manequin posing as Palin...or Madonna's white trash mouthing requesting fans to repeat Blank Blank Palin this and Blank that...we ALL know that is deplorable behavior that would throw a hurt on the black community like nothing else...so why is it that we only see the negative's against us, why do we not say enough is enough for both sides????

Try to ban guns and you will see how many patriots there are. We are not terrorists, but are people that can read the Constitution and will fight to preserve the Republic from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC.

It's sad that people of other races make a big deal about someone other than a white man running for president a big deal.. As if white men are only capable of running the country!! They didn't want hilary because she was a woman and now they want to give obama a chance because he's half african-american, you just can't win!! I don't think that there is anything wrong with wanting to vote w/for someone who looks like you do (skin color) when all you've done is vote for white men for as long as you can vote.. We've already seen what they've done and how they've run our country, Is it so wrong to give someone else other than a white man a chance to run OUR country?! Instead of saying that black people are racist cause they'll vote for him how about looking at how many white people won't vote for him because he's black!!!

As I have reported here before the white man will use any and all tricks of deception to stop President Obama.
The latest example is the LIE told by Ashley Todd, a white woman who claimed that she was attacked by an African man.
History is filled of many such lies and deceptions. This is nothing more than attempt to lynch Barack Obama.
Some history:
A Portrait of the Lynching Era, 1880-1930 The lynching era encompasses roughly the five decades between the end of Reconstruction and the beginning of the Great Depression. During these years we estimate that there were 12,018 separate incidents of lynching where African men, women and children met their deaths in the grasp of whites.
Lynchings were concentrated in a swath running through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana: the region often referred to as the 'Black Belt'
Violence against Africans served four functions within southern society during the lynching era:
1. to eradicate specific persons accused of crimes against the white community;
2. as a mechanism of state-sanctioned terrorism designed to maintain a degree of leverage over the African population;
3. to eliminate or neutralize competitors for social, economic, or political rewards; and
4. as a symbolic manifestation of the unity of white supremacy
And killings continue to this day.

Don't let them frighten you love ones, they are hoping that you will react in fear and avoid going to the polls and voting for Obama. They are so frightend that Obama will win that they will try any tactic. Ignore them!
We have been dealing with hating bigots ever since we were brought to this country and we have made it this far and we will continue to prevail as long as we do not let fear get the best of us. They are the ones who are fearful, hiding behind sheets and basing all of their fears on other peoples' skin color.
Don't be swept up by their threats, like James Brown said, "I'd rather die on my feet and live on my knees." Stand up and look them in the eye just as your ancesters did in the past. We are not preaching hatred, we are expressing our love to the best candidate in the political arena.

I'm sure that when Obama decided to run for president, he took into consideration threats on his life as well as a host of things that might happen along the way. I have confidence in what he is doing and although I know there are crazy people out there, I trust his instincts . Yherefore I am not going to fear for his life because I believe he has the situation well in hand.
