The tradition of dressing in costume for Halloween has both European and Celtic roots. Hundreds of years ago, winter was an uncertain and frightening time. Food supplies often ran low and, for the many people afraid of the dark, the short days of winter were full of constant worry. On Halloween, when it was believed that ghosts came back to the earthly world, people thought that they would encounter ghosts if they left their homes. To avoid being recognized by these ghosts, people would wear masks when they left their homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits. On Halloween, to keep ghosts away from their houses, people would place bowls of food outside their homes to appease the ghosts and prevent them from attempting to enter.

Holloween is something that my family don't believe in. With the state that this country is in and so many people losing their jobs and homes, why spend money on a day that is nothing but evil? Since white people are the ones making most of all the money off this day, why make them richer?

Halloween is very evil and should not be celebrated but it is there's to much evil going on as it is and that's why we teach people the truth about how one day Jehovah will get rid of all the wickedness and bless us with a world of peace and not calamity Jerimiah 29:ll. and his government will not be passed on to anybody else. Daniel 2:44. but only the meek will inherit the earth Psalm 37:9-11. so now is the time to embrace what Jehovah requires for us to get into this new world. and in order to know this. the next time a Jehovah's witness comes to your door don't be so quick to shoo them off but take the time to listen to them and ask them question's give them a chance to explain why they believe the way they do. if you do this you may find what you're looking for. Peace and Security now while we await Jehovah's day.

Very interesting comments from History.com. Also, when you dress up as, or imitate someone, it is because you want to be like them. Ex: a young child often puts on his parents clothes because he wants to be like them. Why would anyone of us want to be like a demon or wicked spirit?
