I've been in this business for a minute and I know people make news decisions based on the needs and demands of his readers. With that said, I've never heard of a news outlet actually deciding not to publish a story of international interest like the election of the U.S. president.
Well, as it turns out, some goober journalists, if you can call them journalists, in Oklahoma decided to do just that. ...
It seems that the Sapulpa Herald in Oklahoma decided to leave that news tidbit out. But watch this video, and check out the excuse this mental giant (insert facetious tone here) gives for omitting one of the biggest historical events of the last ten years. As Sarah Palin would say, what a bunch of "jerks!!"
My own editors at BlackVoices.com gave me permission to call these people a$$wipes just this once. Let's leave it at that.
The sad thing is, this is NOT the only newspaper in America that either made this same call or downplayed the significance of Obama's win. Meanwhile, copies of other post-election newspapers, including the New York Times and the Amsterdam News, are being sold on eBay for a profit.
Check out newspapers, in the gallery above, that decide to bask in this historic moment with the rest of civilized society.

Yes, I saw the piece on CNN. Ridiculous reason, indeed. I say the town should boycott that paper. Never buy another paper and cancel their subscription until they print an apology to it's subscribers and put the President-Elect Barack Obama on the front page.

What happened to First Amendment rights and Freedom of the Press? Is this a glimpse into the Marxist state that Obama and his radical associates wish on our once proud democracy? It is truly a "scary" time in our nations history.

I am all for freedom of the press, but I wonder if the same newspapers put Bush or Clinton on the front page when they became the president-elects. If they did not because they just don't play into the political hype, fine. Otherwise, it seems that they have a problem with having a darker fellow American as a president-elect.

Who cares that the newspaper did not put Obama on the front page? Could it be because him being the "first black president" wasn't news? Because if you go back in history he is not the first black president.

When is it necessary for a newspaper to print what others consider a MUST news story? I still think that as Americans that we have the right to make up our minds as to what we want to do and not do, not the views of the public. If you don't like it, than dont purchase the newspaper, go out and buy the New York Times.

You know it's just bad when people can't see past the color of a person skin. I would know first hand in the state of Louisiana where racism reared it's ugly head.,after Obama won the Presidental election . You had white folks that didn't even want to talk to you. They have given every excuse they can come up with from guns to religion to his name, but the truth of the matter is it's about the color of his skin. Which is sad.

Why is this a big issue? Is it because he is a very pridefull man and would want to be on every cover magazine. I think we see to much of him anyways. Boost about him when he actually does something for this country thats if he will do anything at all.
