Some enterprising students at Ludlum Elementary, in Long Island have helped change the name of their school to Barack Obama Elementary. If nothing else, this is a wonderful reflection of the example president-elect Obama has set for youth the world over.
Obama now joins the ranks of other prominent African Americans such as Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Paul Robeson, Marcus Garvey and others who have this distinction. Kudos to those kids and kudos to this country for finally seeking change.

I'm not going to vote for or against someone because of the color of his skin. All who voted for Obama because he is black are just as racist and ignorant as those who voted against him for the same reason! At least wait untill or IF this man does some good before you start naming things afte rhim

I just wonder...what are all you blacks going to have to say in four years, when our country is no better off, but worse?? I'll be saying "I told you so." Apparently I have more common sense than most of you because I didn't buy into Obama's BS. I'll be laughing when this school is ashamed to have this loser's name on it's walls.

My mom is black, and dad is Cuban, I cried when Obama won. We have come so far, now we grace the White house. I agree with the other post above, I think white people should not be allowed to leave racist comments on this site, they have so many other sites to leave their dim-whitted comments on. Don't get me wrong, my dear Godmother was white, and she loved all races, my mom was her best friend, but some white people go too far. Obama is predident, he will probaly be so for 2 terms, so just get over it. Now that he has done it, more people of color will now be running for the white house in the future. From President Barck Obama to who knows, President Anna Santiago, Chun Li, or Jesse Jackson. I am not sorry to say to all the predjudice, bitter white people that Obama has open the door wide for anyone of any race or gender to sit at the head of the USA, so get over it!

Obama is a racial-minority individual and does not like racism:
There is bad news about George Herbert Walker Bush.
What if basically all racial-minority people would subscribe to the interpretations that George Herbert Walker Bush committed monstrous, racist, hate crimes while he was the President of the United States?
It will eventually come out: it is only a matter of time.

WOW proud and tamia you are the kind of people who want to keep the races divided by the comments you have made on here. The statement about you sticking together by having your own organizations is a major issue with white people. If we as whites had organizations that only promoted whites the outcry would be one of racism but it is okay to have your's? Where is the equality in that? And the comment about whites out killing themselves in sun trying to get a tan to have your color, PLEASE don't think too highly of yourself. We were all created by GOD with different colors and I personally don't know one single person who tans who wants to be black. That remark to me is ignorant. And as for whites teaching their kids to be prejudice, come on we all know that blacks aren't sitting there singing the praises of white people to their children. You putting us all together in one catergory and I for one am not in that catergory, I am a YANKEE not part of the south where slavery was inflicted on blacks, I had nothing to do with that horrible thing neither did any of my ancestors!
