There's a funny conversation going on over on the Black Voices community boards. Black Voices member BlackHarlemNow has started a thread riffing on who should NOT show up at President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony. In some cases those who made the list were staunch Obama detractors. And, well, in other cases the community has pointed out some folks who are simply troublesome.
She kicks off the 'Do Not Invite List' with none other than Kwame Kipatrick and it goes on from there. The list includes many others who should plan on watching the events on TV like: The Real Housewives of Atlanta; Flava Flav; Alan Keyes; Sean Hannity; Karl Rove; Elizabeth Hasselbeck; Bob Johnson and more. ...
Even though I was laughing out loud at some of entries, my personal belief is that we all have to find a way to unify and get on with the business of fixing our broke country. Note - I did not say broken, I said broke. (We have a zero percent savings rate, but more on that in another post.)

How can I follow this comment with anything serious? The person who caused campaign finance reform to pass, Oprah to become political, send Elian home, impeach Bill Clinton, catch President Bush reading, and suggest "We Can" can't get an invitation. That's a sad state of affairs for America and the truth. Maybe I should just call Elva and have my own party?
