President-elect Barack Obama is encouraging all of his supporters and all Americans to celebrate the inauguration by getting involved in a community service project on January 19th, Martin Luther King Day. And the Obama transition team is reaching into its digital bag of tricks to get the word out:While presidents past have used Jan. 19 to show by example how helping the poor is good for the country, Obama is using the eve of his inauguration to rally millions of Americans to community service as an antidote to the recession.
In the coming days, Obama's inaugural committee will launch a Web site to link volunteers with service projects in their neighborhoods. The new Web site will incorporate similar work already begun by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency overseeing 7,000 service programs - including AmeriCorps, given the directive by Congress in 1994 to turn Martin Luther King Day into a national day of service. To be honest, I didn't know that congress had designated the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday as a day of service. One visit to the MLKday.gov page will give you the resources you'll need to get involved in projects in your community. From the site:
"President-elect Obama hopes to summon a new spirit of service and call on Americans to make a more enduring and active commitment to our communities throughout the year, because it is a critical time for America to come together to tackle the common challenges we face," said inaugural spokeswoman Shannon Gilson. How to Serve: There are many ways to find service opportunities in your community on the King holiday and throughout the year.

It's going to take EVERYONE, including the bigots, to help get the nation back on track. It can be done IF everyone works together. Companies need to end outsourcing jobs overseas. Bring the jobs back to America.

Nothing has changed and nothing will change. Nothing King said will ever come true. There are more Dumb,Uneducated, prison institutionalized Negro men than there were when King was alive. The stupid BUTT WIPE ignorant mini flags(red and blue crabs and blow fish imposters)are still killing each other. Dumb ignorant Negro males getting caught by Police cause they can't run with their pants falling around their knees. Dumb Negroes hooked on drugs and stealing from family and friends. Dumb Negroes not knowing how to speak English and they were born in the US. Foreign Negroes should go back to their countries and do their crimes there. Home grown Negroes go in the same pot with the stupid dumb foreign Negroes on all crime reports. There is a difference between dumb African, Hatians and Jamaicans and US born dumb Negroes. All the foreign Negroes want is a Green card from some dumb White Chick or another dumb Negro chic. What hill(MT) was King talking about? Dumb stupid Negroes are still fighting over streets and blocks they don't own. Streets belong to the County,City and State. Not to BUTT WIPES. Dumb Negroes and Dumb people in General. King-Size that.

President elect obama thank You for continuing to keep Dr King's dream alive. He was once the hero that paved road the for us all when his dream was cut short in 1968. It made me happy to have you turn that dream to reality. Though we know you have lots of work ahead we'll continue to support you one hundred percent because in my heart, I think you good people.

If he is going to lower the gas prices, than I'm all for that. When he says that he believed in another religion that was't Christianity because I'm a Christian.
